I was baptized in a Roman Catholic church back in the 1970's. My mother was divorced from my Jewish father and she wanted to get back into the church. Although they were willing to baptized me and my brother AND we attended mass every week, the church was unwilling to allow my mother back in UNLESS she made a donation to the Vatican in the amount of $10,000 which adjusted for inflation would be $53,343 today. Aside from the fact that the "donation" was offensive, but to rub salt in the wound... they knew she was low income, single and without a college degree ..... Went protestant !!!!
This is a complete pack of lies. You, just like Gendron say just enough to expose yourself as a total fraud. You don't even realise which part of what you said exposes you...that is how clueless you actually are. You do not have enough knowledge of the Catholic faith to even pose as a believable imposter.
@@roses993 No one - literally no one - makes a donation to the Vatican. This is only something that a person who knew ZERO about the Catholic Church would say if he was trying to pretend he was Catholic and wanted to discredit the Church. The guy is a liar. So is Mike Gendron.
Thank you for sharing this. I have a meeting with 2 Catholic co workers this week to share that God's grace through Christ was enough to cleanse us from all sin. What can a priest present before God to supplement Jesus' forgiveness? If Christ wasn't enough to forgive us, his sacrifice on the cross was in vain. That's a tough crowd but I know the Holy Spirit will give me the right words to say with gentleness and respect.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” 1 John 2:23 NKJV
I am a Catholic priest and would like to record a video with you in dialogue to accurately represent Catholic teaching and interpretation of scripture. I see many videos on here v claiming to represent the Catholic church’s doctrines but I don’t see many catholic voices. I’d like to be that voice.
As a fellow Catholic this video is cringe. The arrogance is a face palm. I wish my protestant brothers and sisters would just read about the early church fathers...the Apostles disciples after Jesus ascended to heaven. Or just take an afternoon of reading about St Augustin or st charabel or st Pio instead of just glossing over these names and the testimonies that give validity to the truth. The church has so many gems to study and the protestants "solo scriptura" is so baffling to me when they just pick the verses that fit their narrative. With all that said, I find my protestant friends to be good Christians and mean well but are either under developed or subconsciously resistant 🙏✝️ 🙏
@@myke23111 The Protestant in these videos is a self-confessed open ignoramus, who thinks he can overcome 2000 years of church history with 10,000's miracles and the church councils with some poorly thought out private interpretations of a text. Constantine brought paganism and Christianity together causing the great falling away. In the Bible God forbids us to eat human flesh and to drink blood. THIS IS A SATANIC RITUAL. In the Bible God says to call no man father and do not do repetitious praying like the heathens do. In the Bible God says He is the only one who can forgive sins through His Son Jesus. There is no other way. Jesus is the truth, the way and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through Him alone. Who do you think Jesus was talking about in Revelation 17:4-5 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead was a name written MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT. THE MOTHER OF HARLETS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. The catholic church is full of idols. They deleted God's 2nd Commandment 'Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness that's in heaven, on or under the earth, in or under the sea. Thou shalt not worship them or bow down to them' and they halved the last commandment to make up ten. There is an obelisk outside the vatican which represents Nimrod, sungod worship. Mary represents semi-ramas symbolised by a crescent moon and baby Tammuz is camouflaged by baby Jesus in Semi-ramas arm's. There is your MYSTERY BABYLON. I love the Catholic people and so saddened that 1.3billion are being deceived. I know Jesus loves them because He says in the Bible 'COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE AND DO NOT PARTAKE IN HER SINS AND RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES' Jesus said THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE. It is BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH WE ARE SAVED AND NOT OF OURSELVES. We need to humble ourselves, repent of sins, accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and believe He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, arose from the dead on the 3rd day, ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God. We need to be born again in The Holy Spirit and we become a new person. The Holy Spirit, dwelling in us gives us comfort, peace, joy, encouragement and helps us to overcome sin and guides us in good works but not of ourselves. Jesus wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. Pray and walk close to Him. We cannot work our way into heaven. Jesus says our works are like filthy rags. He paid for our sins on the cross. Before He died He said 'IT IS FINISHED' and the curtain separating the sacrificial alter was ripped from top to bottom. Jesus was the sinless sacrificial lamb that took on the sins of the world. It is by GRACE ALONE THROUGH FAITH WE ARE SAVED AND NOT OF OURSELVES. The true church of Christ consists of those who have been born again in The Holy Spirit, have become a new person in Christ and follow Him. His bride. Catholic ways VS Gods way Pope and the priest: take the title away from God by telling people to call them holy father or father - Only God can be called Holy Father! The pope and the priest are guilty of blasphemy! Matthew 23:9: And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. John 10:33 33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” The pope is committing blasphemy for claiming to be God. Works do not earn you salvation - Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Just being a good person will not save you - Luke 18:19 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone. The pope says there are many ways to get to heaven and even the unbelievers make it. This is not biblical. Jesus says there is only one way! John 14:6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Purgatory - (This is made up Catholic doctrine. This word is not in the bible. This is not a place and this will not happen when someone dies) this however will happen; Hebrews 9:27: Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment There are only 2 places that happen right after die. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house- 28 for I have five brothers-so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’” Do not worship Mary by saying hail Mary. No, you cannot have any other gods before God. You need to hail Jesus! - Exodus 20:3: "You shall have no other gods before me. @@christfollower3357 The New testament was originally written in Greek, and in Luke 1:28 the first word that the Angel says to Mary is the word "chaire". Some English Bible translations translate this word as "Hail", while others simply translate it as "Greetings". Interestingly, Luke 1:28 isn't the only place in the New testament where this Greek word appears. For instance, in Matthew 27:29, the very SAME Greek word is used to describe what the soldiers were saying to Jesus, and in almost all English Bible translations, it is translated as "Hail" ("HAIL, king of the Jews ! '' ). You can't blame the Pope or the Catholic Church for this translation of "chaire" as "Hail" because the Catholic Church isn't responsible for publishing ALL the English Bible translations that are currently being used around the world today.
@@christfollower3357 So you just admitted you don't read the Bible, specifically the Gospel of Luke??? Wow just wow. (Acts 8:30-31) WORSHIP of God involves SACRIFICE. Sacrifice is what Jesus did on the Cross on the hill of Calvary, prefigured by Abraham being asked to sacrifice his only son on a holy mountain before it, and after it commemorated by he Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Catholic Mass is true worship of God, offering the perfect sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son and feeding His sheep in obedience to His command to St. Peter in John's Gospel. No Catholic would EVER offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to Mary. So we do not WORSHIP her. We ask her to PRAY FOR US same way you ask your momma to ask Daddy for something, or you ask a fellow Christian to pray for you. Do you never pray for your family and friends? PS More news for you brother - Luke 1:28 is in ALL Bibles even if it is translated into English incorrectly. In my 1972 edition of the KJV, Luke 1:28 says "HAIL."
@@jerome8950 interesting. I personally don’t trust the pope or anything that comes from RCC. That was something Jesus had reveled to me a long time ago to stay away from. @amanda33860 Firstly, the word Trinity does not have to be in the Bible, that is the name of the doctrine of the Triunity of God. You can find this very clearly in John 1:1, Philippians 2, Hebrews 1:1-3, the baptism of Jesus, His transfiguration, the heavenly throne room scenes in revelation and the Great Commission. If you reject the Son you do not have the Father.
Mike Gendron is entitled to preach his "gospel" through cherry picking verses that sound supporting it. Let us examine the gospel according the Reformers using Scripture, which Gendron is preaching on the issue of salvation. Scripture says God saves us or we are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8) and through sanctification (2 Thes. 2:13). Salvation is a process, not just one time event. If salvation is a process, then so is justification. The Reformers' teaching that faith alone justifies us (Latin sola fide) has no scriptural basis. The phrase "justified by faith" appears four times in NT (Rom. 3:28, 5:1, Gal. 2:16, 3:24). NT was written in Greek and the one in Rom. 3:28 is in Greek passive present tense while the rest are in Greek passive aorist tense. Both present and aorist tenses do NOT indicate a completed justification by faith. If Scripture teaches faith-alone justification, then the Holy Spirit would inspire Paul to write the phrase "justified by faith" in Greek passive perfect tense. The Reformers taught that through faith alone justification we get Christ' righteousness imputed on or counted on us, while all our sins (past, present AND FUTURE) are imputed on or counted on Christ who bore them on the cross. We are not made righteous but are only declared righteous based on alien righteousness of Christ - we remain sinner at the same time. That is why followers of the Reformers love saying that we are saved solely by what Christ did on the cross (Latin solus Christus). However Scripture denies double imputation when it says in Ezek. 18:20: "the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself." Scripture denies that we can be both righteous and sinner at the same time in Ezek. 33:12: "the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins". According to the Reformers: (1) God will let us enter heaven while we remain unrighteous because our sins are covered by Christ’ righteousness; (2) God directed His wrath and anger to Christ because our sins are imputed on or counted on Him, while He remains sinless and righteous. Compare this teaching with what Scripture says in Prov. 17:15: “he who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord”. Catholics, on the other hand, believe that through justification we are made righteous (PASSIVE) through Christ (Rom. 5:19). By ourselves we can never become righteous. We lose righteousness through sinning as stated in Ezek. 33:12 cited above. Scripture says there are deadly and non-deadly sins (1 John 5:16-17) and full-grown sins bring death (James 1:15). Under imputation concept of the Reformers what those verses say become meaningless as ALL our sins are counted on Christ, regardless of their numbers and/or intensity. In Catholic teaching, moved and enabled by grace we repent and have our sins washed away or forgiven to regain our righteous state back. Faith is counted as righteousness (Rom. 4:3) - Catholics do believe that through faith we are made righteous. But to do what is right also makes us righteous (1 John 3:7). Faith is counted for righteousness to Abraham (Gen. 15:6) but what is counted (the same Hebrew verb as in Gen. 15:6) to Phinehas for righteousness in Psalms 106:31 is not faith but what he did. Our ability both to have faith, to do what is right and to repent comes from and is only possible by grace through Christ as apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Why being made righteous is essential? Scripture says it is righteousness that delivers from death (Prov. 10:2) and Jesus said in Mat. 25:46 that the righteous shall go to eternal life. Catholics believe that we are saved by what Christ did on the cross and by what He and/or God do in us, that is we are transformed by grace (NOT by our own effort) from our unrighteous state to righteous one. Who is preaching the true Gospel?
I believe you may the wrong concept of those who are not of the catholic faith. For many we have placed our hope in Jesus not because of a church afflictions but because of what Jesus did for us. We do believe we are saved by grace through faith. The fact is no man is worthy of salvation. We are all sinners but are cleansed in the blood of Jesus through His death and resurrection if we proclaim His name, repent and turn from our wicked ways. We are given new hope when we leave the former life behind and follow Him. The truth is many claim to believe in Jesus but as it said so do the demons and they tremble. Faith without works is dead but by no means is it anything we do that we gain salvation but through grace. No church affliction will save. When we face the judgment seat we are will be held accountable for how we lived out our lives whether we lived for ourselves or for Christ Jesus.
@@ginakeith5520 Thank you for your comment. The dispute between the Catholic Church and the Reformers is on the meaning of the (Greek) verb "to justify". Does it mean to make a person righteous as taught by the Catholic Church or does it mean to count a person as righteous based on alien/external righteousness of Christ imputed on him while that person remains unrighteous? The verb "to justify" is related to justification or how a sinful person be right in front of just God. Is justification a process starting with faith and includes sanctification as taught by the Catholic Church or is justification is instantaneous and therefore by faith alone as taught by the Reformers? What I wrote compared those two confronting views.
I can't imagine any normal priest saying that before the confession : "Don't worry I will forgive all..." ButcJesus did day "Ehose sins you forgive they are ...etc. I don't find catholic teaching being fairly described or explained by this man in general.

The LORD led me back to His Church after drifting to atheism and led me through protestantism, and now He has finally taken me home in the Catholic Church this year after years of thinking that home is not home because the lack of understanding of the Church. My protestant brothers and sisters, look to what the Catholic Church teaches before you condemn it and those who are Catholic, I suggest looking up Fr. Chris Alar's explaining the faith series on youtube in the 'Divine Mercy" channel, there he presents Church teachings on many topics like purgatory, rapture (recent) , Mary, and many more. I also recommend Scott Hahn, He teaches on the Eucharist and Mary as being the new ark of the covenant, I suggest watching his conversion story that is available on youtube too. The more you come to know the Church the more you will understand that certain accusations against it are just plainly false. The Church is full of sinners and had some bad popes and yet it still stands today for 2000 years. If God's hand wasn't on it it would have fallen a very long time ago, yet it still stands because Jesus promised that the gates of hell won't prevail against it.
How can the Roman Church that you claim to be the church Jesus Christ founded have bad popes if these popes are the vicar of Christ? Why would Jesus establish the authority in His church who would later contradict what He taught? Why did Jesus and the apostles not mention Mary even once in their teachings to the early believers in the Acts and other parts of the New Testament? How did it happen that Peter, Paul, John and other leaders of the early church did not teach Christians that they can ask the saints in heaven to pray for them, but later on in history, people in the church were believing that saints can hear them from heaven and intercede for them, when in fact we can read in the New Testament that church people were encouraged to pray for each other because they were still physically alive and they know each other as they meet in gatherings of believers? Do these saints in heaven have special powers or abilities so they can hear many people who call them anytime or anywhere in all the parts of the world? It seems like these are God's attributes like omniscience and omnipresence, right? Why does the church authority now decide who is qualified or not to be called saint, if the writers of the New Testament epistles refer to Christian believers as saints?
Except for the fact that the Catholic church gave us the bible, and has been reading, using, and preserving the bible for far longer than any protestant denomination. Not to mention the scriptures contradicting Protestantism, like the "this is my body" dialogue, the laying of the hands in acts, and the "whosoever sins you forgive are forgiven" dialogue.
I can see why this man couldn’t remain Catholic. He’s too pompous, prideful, presumptuous, and needful of a personal platform. None of those qualities are remotely Catholic.
My dear man, you clearly don't even know what the Catholic Church teaches - and you were going to "refute" it? You asked those questions rhetorically, as if they were answers in themselves. You were not even listening to the answers. You didn't "witness" at all, instead everyone is witnessing your misplaced pride. Here's what you actually did - Jumping into a confessional took away time from a penitent who really wanted to go to confession - and on top of that you committed the sin of sacrilege. The Catholic Church teaches what Jesus teaches - that you need true contrition - sorrow for your sins, like Mary Magdalen weeping at the feet of Christ - that's in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7 - or else you add to your list of sins the sin of profaning one of Jesus's Sacraments - signs instituted by Christ HImself to give grace to aid us on the narrow road home to HIm in Heaven. That's why Jesus said, "Not every one that saith to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven:" (Matthew 7:21) He knew people would try to "get over" or get by with just calling His Name without circumcising their hearts, (Deuteronomy 10:16, 30:6). Dear Jesus, command Satan to release this man from his grip, Open his eyes to the Truth of the Church You instituted to guard your flock and shepherd them home to You. Amen. PS Why does the church offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass each day? Jesus said THIS DO IN COMMEMORATION OF ME in Luke's Gospel. Just like He fed the Israelites with manna each day of the 40 years in the desert so too He commanded Peter the first Pope to feed His sheep THREE TIMES in John's Gospel. And wherewith do you think Jesus gave them to feed them? Matthew Mark and Luke all tell us - Jesus said Feed them yourselves right before he multiplied the five loaves and two fish for the five thousand.
We Catholics have a proverb about one’s width of reading, depth of study, and height of understanding of the Bible and where this leads to: “Weak Catholics become Evangelicals; Strong Evangelicals become Catholics.” You Evangelicals evangelizing Catholics, I invite you to read, study, and understand the Bible ever more fully. We Catholics are happy to welcome you home to the original, true and full Christian church, founded by Jesus himself, the Catholic Church.
In my opinion Roman-Catholic Eucharystic Miracles is the Issue that needs profound, thought-over, thourough and convincing statement from the Lutherans in particular because They believe in the True literal Presence of Jesus in the Lord's Supper. For me it is hard to believe that Eucharystic Miracles are not from God or unbiblical. And These Phenomena are the best documented Miracles in the world and moreover they are permanent. I wish so much I was wrong. Please prove that I am wrong. I want so much to be Lutheran but this issue has been nagging me for years and doesn't allow me to be Lutheran. I see two possibilities: 1) Eucharystic Miracles are not from God but from satan. This seems not probable because They confirm Jesus physical Presence in the Lord's Supper and are permanent. 2) Eucharystic Miracles are from God. Then it look like God supports only Catholic Mass and Transsubstantiation because Eucharystic Miracles don't occur outside Roman Catholic Church. I want very much above argument to be debunked. Please help. God Bless You.
What right does this man have to ' correct' a Catholic priest?? Who does he think he is? Catholics do not go into other people's i.e. protestant churches, and tell them how they must preach to their congregations. They used to, years ago!! Yes. But then realised that it is wrong to criticise protestants. They did things differently and they can do whatever they want. We, as Catholics, know that we follow the Bible to a 'T'. If protestants don't, well, that's their conscience and problem. But do not tell Catholics what to do. You only cause us to pray more and become 'more' Catholic, unless you are speaking to a wishy washy, weak Catholic who the devil has got hold of ( and who does not even realise this!!!)
@@jerome8950 priests are trained to believe an anti-gospel of “faith + works = justification”, bible teaches “faith + nothing = justification” (Rom. 3:28). Priests also believe a whole host of unbiblical things
@@CBess Romans 3:28 says that justification is by "faith and not by works of the Law". It doesn't say that justification is by "faith ALONE" or "faith plus NOTHING". Similarly, Ephesians 2:8 - 9 says that we are "saved by grace through faith....and not by works" It doesn't say that we are "saved by grace through faith ALONE". The word "ALONE" has been illegaly added next to the word "FAITH" by Protestants to passages like Romans 3:28 and Ephesians 2:8 - 9 despite the fact that Paul never used the word "Alone" in those Bible verses (as seen in the original Greek texts from which the New testament was translated). The fact that Paul excluded "Works of the LAW" from being involved alongside faith with respect to salvation doesn't mean that he intended faith to stand ALONE. After all, notice that he didn't exclude EVERY KIND OF WORK; he only specifically excluded the "works of the LAW". There are other works that a Christian needs to do in order to be saved that are NOT part of the "works of the LAW".
@@jerome8950 So, God is pleased with you doing things He did not command? Which means, you gain merit when you obey your own law, not God’s law? Makes no sense. If Christians need to do "works" that God did not command to be saved, then those works are man-made. Your view is consistent with RCC, since its a man-made religion and not Christian. For example, given that the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind (Mat. 22:36-37); it would be a mortal sin to break that commandment. Which means, as a Catholic, you never have peace with God. Because one impure thought could break the greatest commandment and land you in Hell, not purgatory. The Christ of the Bible (not Rome) is the only way to have peace with God and that by faith alone in Christ alone. Sola Fide
@@CBess You are still mixing up "works of the Law" with "Every kind of work". The works of the Law are just AN EXAMPLE of works. There are other works that are NOT part of the works of the Law. You are the one who isn't following what the scriptures say. What the Bible said is that we don't need to do WORKS OF THE LAW in order to be saved. Amazingly, Protestants have MODIFIED what the Bible said by claiming that the Bible says that we don't need to do ABSOLUTELY ANY KIND OF WORK in order to be saved. The Bible says that Jesus is the source of salvation for those WHO OBEY Him (Hebrews 5:9). This clearly means that we don't need faith in ISOLATION --- we also need to LOVE God, and that means OBEYING Him. The Apostle Paul has never advocated for faith WITHOUT LOVE because faith without love is nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2). What he said was faith WITHOUT WORKS OF THE LAW (which is not the same as faith WITHOUT LOVE). Another mistake you make is to interpret the statement: "We need to obey God in order to be saved" to mean that obedience is something that makes us MERIT salvation. Just because God has placed obedience to Him as a CONDITION to be fulfilled in order for us to be saved doesn't automatically make it a MERIT. For instance, God has decided to give the Holy Spirit to those who OBEY Him (Acts 5:32) -- does that mean that the Holy Spirit is no longer God's free gift but has now become a "reward" for our obedience ? Certainly not. Salvation is a FREE gift from God. But describing something as "free" doesn't necessarily mean that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has to be done before receiving it. It only means that you don't PAY for it. Lastly, I hear you say that obedience cannot be a requirement for salvation because it is IMPOSSIBLE for us as human beings to perfectly obey EVERY SINGLE command of God. Well, when God says that He expects us to OBEY Him, it is not the same thing as saying that He expects us to be perfectly SINLESS or that He expects us to NEVER EVER fail to obey even one single command. He is simply referring to having the right ATTITUDE to His commands -- that is, He expects us to be WILLING to obey Him and to make SINCERE daily effort to do what He says while relying on His grace and not on our human abilities; and anytime we fail, we should not despair but promptly ask for forgiveness and keep moving on. If you think OBEDIENCE to God is synonymous with PERFECTION or SINLESSNESS, how do you explain the words of Jesus: "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and OBEY it" (Luke 11:28) ? If your assumption is right, it means that Jesus was describing an IMPOSSIBLE scenario in Luke 11:28 because it would mean that absolutely NO HUMAN BEING on earth should be described as "Blessed" simply because NO HUMAN BEING has the ability to consistently keep ALL God's commands without ever breaking a single one of them.
His bride. Well well well.. looky what we have here.. another modern beleiver thinking they know more about Holy Scripture from a watered down Bible than The 1st Church that's followed Jesus Christ going back thousands of yrs to when Jesus Christ Himself walked this earth. You figuratively picking up that rock and throwing it at the Priest saying no you're a sinner and will die a sinner. You literally just did what Jesus Christ Himself told others not to do, "he who is without sin cast the 1st stone". You condemning that Priest saying he is a sinner also contradicts the verse you had quoted earlier of "it is finished".. and also contradicts the other verse you quoted which was only half the verse too. 1st John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as He also is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin". ironic how you forgot to mention the part about fellowship with one another. Or more so even not mentioning "walking in the Light and He walks in the Light". Must be an extremely cool calm undemanding life you live thinking you dont haveto do anything EXCEPT proselytize to your modern beleifs. Listen up and listen real good my lost brother. The modern world is the enemy of God. And you are doing the works of the devil without even knowing it. Very sad and unfortunate, so many souls in this day in age thinking they are saved and are not. Jesus Christ Appointed Peter to be the rock in which the church was built. Jesus Christ gave the keys of Heaven to the Apostle Peter. Peter was the 1st Pope. Each Sacrament the Catholic Church beleives in is in Holy Scripture. The Sacrament of Confession for example- John 20 :21-23. "He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained". Ill leave you with this.. there is more Grace to be found by God in doing more for Him in Tradition than doing less in modernity. I pray Gods Grace of understanding falls down upon you and allows you to see the truth I speak of. God be with you brothers and sisters. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for quoting the scripture in which Jesus commissioned the Apostles, the first bishops/priests, to hear confessions and absolve sins. You also bring up another point - Every good priest - and saint of the Catholic Church - will be the first to confess that they themselves are sinners in need of Gods grace and mercy, and can only do things in Christ Who strengthens them. It is so sad that so many were robbed of learning the full teachings of the Catholic Church and, having itching ears fell prey to false teachers of the Gospel. Our family is in the midst of reading Jeremiah and what God did to the false prophets who pretended to speak to and for Him. Not pretty. We all must repent before He calls our number!
kind of ironic that Jesus warned us and yet they still rose to such significant power and became so prominent... "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.“ Matthew 7:15 ...with all of their changing & adding to the word, preaching false gospel, and the dozens of horrible things they've swept under the rug for hundreds upon hundreds of years, how could that not be describing the Catholic Church? (and a number of so-called Christian Churches too for that matter...)
Blessings Elder, the Love of our King and Redeemer Jesus Christ is truly abiding in you. Like you I hope that the priest will repent and come to Christ as his only salvation. May the Holy Spirit awaken him from Spiritual Death to Spiritual life in Christ, to the glory of God our Father!
Why then does Jesus give Peter the power to forgive and bind on heaven and on earth - he intends for his church to act with his authority here on earth. Jesus doesn't have a big ego like the presenter, its pleasing to have his children carry out what he commands. This solar scriptural attitude is a recent man made invention to relieve some responsibility of the individual.
How do people get to believe the gospel? They have to hear it first. Christ was saying, when people hear the gospel via the ones preaching (Peter & the apostles) and are stirred to repent & believe, then it is confirmed by those preaching that the new believers have been forgiven in Christ. If you don’t believe and reject the good news of Christ, then you are still dead in your sins and not forgiven. Jesus died to forgive the sins of everybody, but that death doesn’t do anyone any good unless people hear about it. The keys to the kingdom is the gospel proclaimed. Not once does Peter claim the authority to forgive sins. Only God can forgive sins. We hold in our hands the power to share the only message by which people can be forgiven, the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Which one of the 15000 protestant sects are you from. 2. Do you believe in once saved, always saved like Charles Stanley. 3. Can you lose your salvation if you continue in persistent sin. 4. Why did you replace Jesus's plain meaning when he called Peter the rock - with your own interpretation.
First, it is good to share the Gospel with all since it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Second, John 19:30 does not disprove the sacramental life of the Church. Jesus finished His paschal offering on the cross, obeying the Father to point of death, even death on the cross. He still was buried, preached to the spirits in Hades, rose from the dead, ascended in glory, sat down at the right hand of the Father, and is interceding for His people. He sent the Holy Spirit, and will save His people from the wrath to come. We need all of those aspects of the Gospel. Third, the priest is not continuing the sacrifice in the sense of adding to it. Jesus died once for all, and that sacrifice is made present on the altar. We have an altar (Heb 13:10). This is why the cup we bless and the bread are a "koinonia" with His blood and body; they become the body and blood of our Lord Jesus (see 1 Cor. 10-11). This is what Jesus delivered to the Apostles, and the Apostles to their successors (see Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans, 7 ; Justin Martyr’s First Apology, 66). Fourth, interesting you quoted 1 John 1:7 because 1:9 talks about confessing our sins and Jesus will forgive us and cleanse us. Shouldnt we confess our sins then? (See James 5:14-16). The word John uses for "confess" always means confessing something to other people (credit goes to Trent Horn for telling me that. Search “homologeo” in John’s writings). The context in 1 John 1:6-10 is what we do/say in relation to others. Fifth, purgatory is when God cleanses His justified sons and daughters from temporal punishment and unhealthy attachment to sin or creatures. All who experience purgatory are saved forever in Jesus. John’s word for "cleanse" is the same as Paul’s in 2 Corinthians 7:1 where the Apostle calls Christians to cleanse themselves. Sixth, you are right, we are born sinners, not Catholic. You must be born again! The Catholic Church teaches original sin. I hope the priest meant he has (basically) always been Catholic Christian (since baptism as an infant).
This is baloiney. The gospel came from the catholic church 15 centuries before the protestant "reformation" ever took place and the gospel includes Mary too....not the protestant "reformers" This mike g dude is full of it.
I’m not sure what the point of this video is other than to say that you went to a Catholic priest pointing your accusatory finger and selecting a few Bible verses in isolation that you claim proves your point. If you have actually read the Bible than you understand the Bible is replete with conflicting verses in need of reconciliation. In fact your very approach is the same as an atheist who says the Bible should be ignored. I would have preferred if the priest spent more time in dialogue educating you about what the Church really believes but based on your presentation, he probably correctly surmised that you really weren’t open to learning about any of your own errors or misconceptions. I will pray for you but as far as your evangelizing is concerned, it appears more geared more geared towards self aggrandizement of yourself and those who already agree with you than to reaching those who may not. Jesus came to testify to the truth. If you are his disciple, you must not evangelize by speaking falsehoods about others.
Amen, we are only getting his side of the story and not the priest's. He did admit the priest acknowledged "this will need more time, let's talk more Monday." This man doesn't say how long they talked on Monday. But I too do not blame the priest for saying - "Stop! I will not surrender the true faith" - and terminating the conversation if it appeared to him that this man didn't want to hear the truth about the Church, and just wanted to feather his cap with causing a priest to apostasize. The catechism teaches us to avoid near occasions of sin. Someone who doesn't want to hear the truth certainly could qualify!
It is disheartening that you are grateful to be a part of a false church that has no good news for you. Faith in Christ alone saves, not faith plus works (Rom. 3:28)
@@CBess You seem to be contradicting yourself. On the one hand you say, "false church," then you state belief in a Catholic doctrine, that Christ alone saves, not faith plus works. Catholics do not believe in faith plus works. And Romans 3:28 is referring to "works of the law," i.e. the Mosiac law, not works that flow from faith in Christ. Also, if you believe that the Catholic Church is a false church, then why do you cite the New Testament? it is a historical fact that the books of the New Testament were preserved, compiled, and canonized by the Catholic Church in 382 AD at the Council of Rome under the authority of Pope Damasus.
@@seanburlile6616 You seem to have made up some stuff then replied. For example, during the council of Nicea (325 AD), they quoted from the New Testament, thats before 382 AD. So your church history education was very bad. Also, What works/deeds can a person do that God has *not* commanded and be saved by them? None, therefore salvation is by grace through faith *alone* (Eph. 2:8, Titus 3:4-7). Soli Deo gloria
@@CBess What did I make up? First, it's the Council of Nicaea, not the Council of Nicea, as you wrote. Have you read the documents of the Council of Nicaea? They did not quote from the New Testament as we know it, they quoted from select books of the New Testament, specifically the Gospels. The New Testament as we know it wasn't completely compiled or even agreed upon. Based on your misspelling of the Council of Nicaea and you writing that they quoted from the New Testament, which wasn't yet compiled, I can only conclude that you are making things up, and your church history is way off. Also, you just quoted Catholic teaching, you cannot do any works/deeds that God has not commanded. I'm not sure what your point is with that. If you are going to attempt to correct someone and make the accusation that their "church history education was very bad," then at least understand what you are talking about and spell the council correctly, read the documents of the council with which you are referring, and understand the teaching with which you incorrectly criticize. Nothing you wrote was accurate. I can talk church history all day. It was the bible and church history that led me from protestantism to the Catholic Church. God Bless
@@seanburlile6616 Wow. You just condemned the catholicism org website and exposed you didn't even attempt to be charitable and do a few seconds of research. It *can* be spelled, Nicaea or Nicea. I prefer the shorter form. Sadly, that was the majority of your response; a criticism of an alternate (and accepted) spelling for the same council. Talk about being inaccurate. I hope you are willing to admit you were wrong. Now, please note, I said, "they quoted from the New Testament," which they did, you admitted it. You didn't address the dating. My point, is that they had the Scriptures, the Canon, before the RC church "recognized" the Canon. You are simply inaccurate. Notice, the bishops at the council of Nicea (or Nicaea) used the Scriptures to prove the Trinity, they didn't ask a Pope (i.e. one of Linus' successors). If the Bible and Church history led you to the false relgion of Roman Catholicism, I'd remind you that the Bible alone can be used to lead you out. And by Christ grace, may he save your soul and your way of thinking. Since, for salvation, you cannot do any works/deeds that God did not command, then why are you doing what the RCC commands for salvation versus what the Bible (God) commands? I look forward to your reply (and apology) :)
What a patient priest putting up with this. Confession is such a wonderful gift bestowed upon the Church. Pray that Protestants can return home and receive this sacrament. “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 “When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”” John 20:22-23
Amen to the verses you mentioned. But clearly it's not only the priests who can forgive. We can confess to one another, to any of our brother or sister in Christ. Based on those 2 verses you cannot come up with a whole doctrine of confession to the priest.
@@bassterify It seems evident that, in John 20, Jesus is giving a special authority to forgive sins to the apostles, and the apostles taught their successors to continue their ministry. I'm not sure what you're objecting to.

CHRIST, THE ETERNAL AND OMNIPOTENT GOD, BOWS HIS HEAD IN HUMBLE OBEDIENCE TO THE PRIEST'S COMMAND." • JOHN O'BRIEN • ?? This is blasphemy and negates what Romans 10:9-10 says. Jesus is LORD AND REIGNS OVER MAN & ANGELS. He is never under the command of a mortal human. Jesus was never a victim but willingly died in our place because of our sin. Jesus died once for all and said: It is finished!! Jesus conquered death and was resurrected. Why do Catholic priests sacrifice Christ over & over again? And believe that in doing so the wafer becomes the literal body of Christ? It’s blasphemy! In John 6 when Jesus said “unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood” He did not mean literally! Just after that when He addresses the disciples because they find it hard to understand He says: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” Jesus sacrificed his body for mankind, taking our sins on Himself and suffering the punishment of death. The shedding of his blood is for the forgiveness of our sins. When we believe in His finished work on the cross we no longer hunger and thirst spiritually. When we believe we receive eternal life. We are reminded of the gospel message when we eat bread and drink wine during the Lord’s Supper, just as Jesus and the disciples ate at Passover, to REMEMBER what Christ did for us. He lives in us by His Holy Spirit not a wafer that a priest claims to turn into the literal body of Christ. I praise GOD that He saved me out of the idolatry of the Roman Catholic Church.

I witness to you that the gospel is the right to represent God to man and formally share those things that I have already mentioned, the essential truths for ultimate salvation, the Lord's standards, and the right to perform the Lord's ordinances of his gospel. Probably you can imagine where I'm coming from and you do not believe that it's required.
This is an awesome testimony. The Bible gives us the truth , which mere men often distort to their own destruction. It’s a very loving thing to confront the distortions with the truth.

Gendron is a liar. No other way to describe him. He makes a string of knowingly false claims about what the Catholic Church teaches and practises

Wow that's awful. I hope you found a beautiful bible beliving protestant church. WE have many 😊❤😊
This is a complete pack of lies. You, just like Gendron say just enough to expose yourself as a total fraud.

I am a Catholic priest and would like to record a video with you in dialogue to accurately represent Catholic teaching and interpretation of scripture. I see many videos on here v claiming to represent the Catholic church’s doctrines but I don’t see many catholic voices. I’d like to be that voice.
Prediction - there will be no response. Protestantism survives upon of half truths and deceptions about Catholic content and the meaning of scripture.

One of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Poor deluded Mr Gendron.
Who do you think Jesus was talking about in Revelation 17:4-5
The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.
I know Jesus loves them because He says in the Bible 'COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE AND DO NOT PARTAKE IN HER SINS AND RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES'
Jesus said THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.
His bride. His New Jerusalem.

Catholic ways VS Gods way
Pope and the priest: take the title away from God by telling people to call them holy father or father - Only God can be called Holy Father!
John 10:33 33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
The pope is committing blasphemy for claiming to be God.
Confession Box (priest cannot forgive sins) - 1 Timothy 2:5: For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. Only Jesus can forgive sins Mark 2:6-7 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Therefor the priests are committing blasphemy by telling you that they forgive your sins. They are no closer to God then you are. They too are in need of Jesus!
Purgatory - (This is made up Catholic doctrine. This word is not in the bible. This is not a place and this will not happen when someone dies) this however will happen;
Hebrews 9:27: Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment
There are only 2 places that happen right after die. When you are a born again Christian you will be in paradise with Jesus resting.
If you die without Jesus you will lift your eyes up in hell.
Luke 16:19-31
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house- 28 for I have five brothers-so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”
Do not worship Mary by saying hail Mary. No, you cannot have any other gods before God. You need to hail Jesus! - Exodus 20:3: "You shall have no other gods before me. Mary is dead, presumably she gave her life to Jesus and is with the Lord in paradise - Christians do not pray to the dead. Again, we only have ONE mediator between God and man. Do not pray to the rosary - Matthew 6:7-8 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Luke 11:27-28 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” 28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Jesus rebuked them women for trying to elevate Mary over God)
You cannot bow down to Statues of Mary and other images. - Exodus 20:4-6 " You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Do not add Catholic doctrine to Gods word and do not take way Gods word - Deuteronomy 4:2: Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. Deuteronomy 12:32: See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it. Revelation 22:18: I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.
The catholic bible took out the words carved images out of the 2nd commandment which is why they make status of Mary and other things. The Holy bible Gods word says “You shall not make for yourself a carved image”. And there is more that has been added and taking away like purgatory that’s not in the bible.

Oh, there are so many lies in your comments that I simply don't know where to start from.
Did you just say that saying "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you" is a form of WORSHIP to Mary ? Really? Have you forgotten that Angel Gabriel said those SAME WORDS to Mary ? Why don't you accuse the Angel of WORSHIPPING her ? You need to be consistent. Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
(This next one is the major point of salvation it’s not by works or anything you do it’s by grace through faith and the finished work Jesus did on the cross)
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 16: 24-26 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
John 3: 5-6 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
So here is the over view:
you’re dead in your sins and apart from God as long as you are willfully continuing to live in sin and on the wide path that leads to hell.
you need a savoir to keep you out of hell. Jesus is the only way to be saved and your only way to have eternal life.
you must confess your sins to Jesus as he is the only one that can forgive sins and repent.
No longer living in willful sin.
you can confess your sins right now not to me not to a priest but right now in the humble sincerity of your heart to Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,)
you must be born again, have faith, believe, and put all your trust in Jesus Christ and now let his will be done for you in your life.

@amanda33860 The Trinity is biblical and any rejection of it is heresy.

May the Lord have mercy on your soul
The LORD led me back to His Church after drifting to atheism and led me through protestantism, and now He has finally taken me home in the Catholic Church this year after years of thinking that home is not home because the lack of understanding of the Church. My protestant brothers and sisters, look to what the Catholic Church teaches before you condemn it and those who are Catholic, I suggest looking up Fr. Chris Alar's explaining the faith series on youtube in the 'Divine Mercy" channel, there he presents Church teachings on many topics like purgatory, rapture (recent)
, Mary, and many more.
Amen.. former catholic
Nah they added some of their teachings to it.
From the Greek, 1 John 1:7 is word-for-word translated as, "... and the blood of Jesus His Son KEEPS CONTINUALLY CLEANSING us from every sin."
I see two possibilities:
1) Eucharystic Miracles are not from God but from satan.
Praise God for giving Mike boldness to share the gospel with the Roman Catholic priest. Soli Deo Gloria
Christians are supposed to share the gospel with unbelievers, NOT Catholic priests.
Sola Fide
@@CBess
You are still mixing up "works of the Law" with "Every kind of work".
Lol, is this a serious attempt at apologetics to Catholics? St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for this man.
Who do you think Jesus was talking about in Revelation 17:4-5
The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.
I know Jesus loves them because He says in the Bible 'COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE AND DO NOT PARTAKE IN HER SINS AND RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES'
Jesus said THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.
His bride. His New Jerusalem.

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.“
Matthew 7:15
...with all of their changing & adding to the word, preaching false gospel, and the dozens of horrible things they've swept under the rug for hundreds upon hundreds of years, how could that not be describing the Catholic Church?
@MerryM72 VeeTee which one of 15,000
If you flew back then it was face to face meeting. How did the priest hang up on you? Hmm
You are gravely in error. We are saved by faith alone in Jesus and you are being led astray by a false gospel and an apostate union.
Extremely grateful to be a Roman Catholic in the Church Jesus founded

Hopefully he was able to share the true Gospel with you and bring you home to the One True Church!
Friend, there is only one gospel and that is Christ died for sinners. There is no other way under heaven by which we can be saved. He is the mediator between God and man.
Through Faith alone, by grace alone in Christ alone.
@@Jesusmyhopeofglory that all sounds great, except you don’t really believe it! Romans 10:9-10 states the conditions for salvation and Catholics meet both of those conditions
@@trailrvs if that is true, and I believe Romans 10:9-10 is true to be saved, then why does the RC priest believe the following:
"WHEN THE PRIEST ANNOUNCES THE TREMENDOUS WORDS OF CONSECRATION, HE REACHES UP INTO THE HEAVENS, BRINGS CHRIST DOWN FROM HIS THRONE, AND PLACES HIM UPON OUR ALTAR TO BE OFFERED UP AGAIN AS THE VICTIM FOR THE SINS OF MAN. IT IS A POWER GREATER THAN THAT OF SAINTS AND ANGELS." " THE PRIEST SPEAKS AND LO! CHRIST, THE ETERNAL AND OMNIPOTENT GOD, BOWS HIS HEAD IN HUMBLE OBEDIENCE TO THE PRIEST'S COMMAND."
• JOHN O'BRIEN •
??
No, Mike shared the true gospel with that Catholic priest who is leading people to hell.
@@changedman6035 If Catholicism is not true then Jesus was a false prophet. Your evangelism heresy has not been taught continuously throughout church history and is therefore not the original.
Jesus Christ has founded only ONE church and that is the Catholic Church. If Jesus is God, Catholic Church can't teach anything wrong. Anybody who rejects Catholic Church knowingly, rejects Jesus.
Jesus started one church and said it would last forever
The Roman Catholic Church
But he never said that. Read what the scripture says. Don’t insert your own words or you are breaking the second commandment and added to scripture which is clearly forbidden in revelation. Repent and believe the gospel
I bet this never happened. Nothing more than gnostic heresy from a diabolic grifter.
Protestants having at it again. The cringe never ceases to amaze me.

To know great amounts of it is to study deeply and to contemplate deeply on what you've studied. It's beautiful. Unfortunately for your favorite preachers, none of them understand even the simple basics of the Catholic faith. They quote mine what they don't like, and rip it out of context so as to appease their anti-catholic viewers.
Theres no truth frm the mouth of this man...
He teaches from the bible and condemns human traditions
I salute your boldness, the Muslims devotion is quite impressive. What you're saying is that you have the truth. My question to you is, how do you get the truth? Your answer might be the Bible and I would respond that it comes according to the Bible through officers appointed ones and why cannot the appointed one our Savior Jesus Christ appoint others and would that not be in fact the gospel? The formal right to speak for God and declare the truth and more importantly as I see it the Lord's standards of comportment and to exercise those keys that the Catholics believe that they are in possession of! I assure you and witness that if they were, I would not be making this comment.
