I don’t think this concept of being all in versus all consumed can be overemphasized. It is so easy to let any domain in life become all consuming to the detriment of the other domains of life. It requires intentionality and purpose to become a person that can completely commit to a goal without letting that goal choke the life out of the rest of your life. Be patient. Be committed. Trust the process. Give your best. But build your identity on something that will outlast a momentary goal. Great stuff Nick!
I think if you want something bad enough you should be all consumed. Point blank. If you need to balance your family and the rest of your life than obviously you can’t be all consumed.
@@stevenbrown835 that’s fair. I personally don’t see being all consumed toward goals in the way Nick seems to be referring as a sustainable way to live. At some point being fully consumed by these types of things could lead to burnout and other issues that may be irreversible.
Very much relatable! I am working mom of two, and have a full time desk job. I try to squeeze my workouts at the crack of dawn before I pack my kids to school, and run off to work. Have to work with what we got, and be forgiving for our 'fall of the wagon's, and keep trying to be a better version of ourselves. Thank you for this video!
I’m currently 1 week into acl reconstruction recovery. I’m all in, doing all the things I need to do to get better. But I’m not all consumed, I’m not letting it sour my mood or energy. I realize this is important because I am more reliant on my partner and my friends more than ever and it’s just as hard for them to help as it is for me to ask for help
Training has been so hard with my 4 month old. It’s been a challenge to balance the lack of sleep and work and my relationship. Needed to hear this today!
Man, such a good video! I love the message and your ability to reflect and grow to become a better all around athlete, father, husband, ect. Great stuff!
Great to see, Nick. I was wondering when this topic would come up. What you do is insane and I always couldn’t help but wonder how it impacted your wife, family and friends. It’s good to see you reflect and give us that perspective for once.
Damn this all in vs all consumed comparison is so truthful and well said. I’ve experienced all consumed and I’ve learned all in later on in life. This is awesome, this needs to be broadcasted to the masses!
Just my opinion but I really appreciate this type of content (maybe with more workout program/data) versus the overly “motivational” and theatrical videos that have been coming out as of late. Anyone else feel the same?
Thanks for everything you’re a true mentor. Just started my first hybrid marathon prep. Congrats for being such a balanced person between all the aspects of your life.
The conversation in this video came at an excellent time for me. I just signed up for my first 50k and I am incredibly excited. That said, I need to be all in and not let this new goal take over my life.
If you give your shoes around 24 or 48 hours to recover before your next run, you can get the lifespan of them way up. For example two pair of the endorphin speeds and overall both should last you longer. Love the video!
Suggestion: It would be great If your editing team could put metric units conversion on screen while you talk about pace, miles etc. Keep up awesome work Nick!
Hey Nick! Been watching you since the "day in the life of infantry" videos, and using your products since 2017. Currently stationed in California and live 20 mins from Sacramento. Might try and make it out and see you run!
Hey Nick, thanks for the great content! I love watching your videos! You have inspired me to become a hybrid athlete and I am loving it. Do you have any tips on how you switched from all consumed to all in? I feel like I might be struggling with this myself. Thank you!
I have the Saucony Endorphin Speeds 3s. Was also thinking about getting the Elites for race days. Just used vaporflys in my last race though, and I enjoyed them!
My running coach in high school always said running should not be in your top 5 priorities, top 10 for sure, but not top 5. I didn’t understand that until starting a family.
I think a lot of suffer with addictive personalities and it’s easy to make a goal like running a marathon and immediately everything you do, say, watch, is based around that goal and to your point it ends up adding a ton of unnecessary stress and causing your support structure to eventually get burnt out on it too.
So, I’ve been following the channel for a few years now. NB was living in Austin, and now he’s suddenly moved to Nashville. What happened? Did I miss something? I know they have a new office there, but it seems like a pretty big move that he never really talked about. Or did he???
I’m a big time follower. I know there’s a new HQ in Nashville, is Nick living there full time now? Or does he have two homes and goes back and forth? Anyone know?
he said they are building out the Nashville BPN headquarters, I think Steph mentioned that they’ll stay in Nash for a while, she enjoys it more and I think they want Charli in school there
Omg 😳 what 😮 you guys moved? What about the nice house in TX with the nice pool and your business BPN headquarters? You should make a video about the reasons why you’s guys left TX.
Congrats for 1 Million Subscribers!!! You are such a big inspiration 👊🏼! I would like to know, how you handle social media? Does any of you guys know, if he picks that theme in his podcast? Greetings from Germany 🏃🏻
Tell your wife that the sourdough journey just takes time but not to give up! Stay on 1 recipe master it and she will get a feel of how it should look for future attempts…. But 1 recipe at a time 😊
That clip from the podcast explain exactly what I am living and how I am thinking and what I am trying to promote via my brand Urban Spartan. Can someone share the link of the podcast? Thank you!
Hey Nick, just check the route of the California International Marathon (CIM) you will be in on the 4th of December. The race starts at an elevation of 366 ft (112 m) and finishes at an elevation of 26 ft (7.9 m). You forgot to mention that in the video for transparency

you sound like an angsty psych 101 student that just failed his first test.

@@j0sh_j0hnson that’s true to I guess you just have to pick your battles
Charli’s conversation when eating bread, the best! She is 1 year younger than my daughter, these stages move so fast.
Nick is a good stepdad

Best of the best, not only regarding the running goal, but also regarding live a lucky life
The difference between being all in and all consumed, thanks for sharing this concept. It hit home for me.
Great to see, Nick. I was wondering when this topic would come up. What you do is insane and I always couldn’t help but wonder how it impacted your wife, family and friends. It’s good to see you reflect and give us that perspective for once.
Last half of the video was extremely impactful! You da man

Congrats on X3. Nick you've inspired me through some tough times. Thank you

Has Nick moved from Texas to Nashville?

Thanks for everything you’re a true mentor. Just started my first hybrid marathon prep. Congrats for being such a balanced person between all the aspects of your life.

Headed to CIM too. Definitely going with the Saucony Elite. Have a shake out run Nick.
Just noticed the shakeout sponsored by Bare. 👍
True about that all consuming…gotta have discipline through the balance.
That talk at the end was much needed!
Congrats on your 3rd year anniversary Nick 💪

Welcome to Nashville! It's cool seeing you run past all of the local spots haha
Nick, I would love to see your full pre run warmup/stretch. Do you focus more on static warmups or dynamic?
Suggestion: It would be great If your editing team could put metric units conversion on screen while you talk about pace, miles etc.
Keep up awesome work Nick!
You're a beast Nick! Keep running!
Happy Anniversary Nick and Steph

Love it: all in but not all consumed.

Awesome video. Are you guys going to release a video recap of last man standing?
Love from Sacramento, look forward to seeing you race 🫶🏼
Being all consumed in my identity in Christ equips me to be All In in those things that matter like family, friends, health etc..

Anyone know what camera Nick uses for his runs?
Ever thought about rotating Adidas Boston 12 in for daily trainers?
Omg 😳 what 😮 you guys moved? What about the nice house in TX with the nice pool and your business BPN headquarters?
You should make a video about the reasons why you’s guys left TX.
Should my running shoes be true to size, or should I size up?
Could u edit in The Km split in your video’s?
I`m Brazilian and i'm your fan
I've been out of the loop for a while, are you no longer in Texas?

What was your average mile pace when you started the MAF180 method and how long did it take to see progress?
Did he move to Nashville?
He is splitting his time between austin and Nashville
