    Wow I like it. I have a feeling lots of pop up camper companies will see this and copy it in some way in time. It just makes sense. Semi hard/soft sides look so much better than traditional floppy sided pop ups.

      I agree, We will start seeing more hardsided walls on RTT's and truck campers.

    what would yall recommend for a 5ft ranger? only thing is AC is a must..

    • @WelcomeToTheOutdoors
      @WelcomeToTheOutdoors  Год назад

      AC for a midsize truck camper is hard due to the payload of the truck and most midsize campers being just a shell. Most midsize capers are similar to a Super Pacific/go fast camper to where it’s basically a shell.
      You could opt for a portable AC unit like the Zero Breeze or Eco Flow. The Eco Flow also does heat as well.
      Eco flow also has refrigerators and portable power stations.

    How does it handle the weight of snow on the roof?

    • @WelcomeToTheOutdoors
      @WelcomeToTheOutdoors  Год назад

      Not sure which camper you are talking about but with any pop up, most of them should be able to handle the snow especially if you can mount stuff on top.
      Now if you do have stuff mounted on top, it will also depend on how much weight.
      But with most pop ups, you can just upgrade your struts to support more weight, BUT you should check with the payload of the top before doing so because even though you may upgrade your struts to lift more weight, it’s possible that the actual top of the camper can’t support that weight and can fail.

    Overlanding has officially jumped the shark! The market now is totally over-saturated. In 5 years, most of these companies will be out of business as the overlanding fad dies its predictable death. But the funny thing is that weekend warriors are the ones buying these over-priced and over-built products. I go on 3-month trips to Baja and am totally comfortable in a basic cabover shell with no pop-ups, bells or whistles.

      It is becoming over saturated, that being said it’s creating a lot of innovation which I truly enjoy seeing. Can I afford most of them? Absolutely not!

      @scottparker9341 Год назад

      @@trystankirkley5829I was gonna say the same thing!! Most will die out sure, but their innovative ideas will be passed on to the companies that survive and improve the industry.

    8 stop.!! Can be fitted with a drain? 30 seconds and have a drain really.!! Do like tho, but wet shower and toilet would do it and under 20

  • @randobad

    Do you have one that fits on a Toyota Sequoia?

    • @WelcomeToTheOutdoors
      @WelcomeToTheOutdoors  Год назад

      The sequoia is an SUV, so unfortunately you cannot put a truck camper on it. An option could possibly be to cut the roof out and cut the bottom of a Rooftop tent out and mount the two, but I don’t know if that’s possible with a sequoia and requires a lot of custom fabrication

  • @scottbrown321

    Hated almost all of them. Why can't we have two door trucks with long beds???? And most of these options are not very wide. Why? aerodynamics? Well, I would pay a little more for gas to have some space. Amazing designs, but missing the basics, IMHO. Cheers! Great Video by the way!

    • @WelcomeToTheOutdoors
      @WelcomeToTheOutdoors  Год назад

      I don’t think long beds are that popular in this specific overland industry.
      However, they are popular in the full-size RV style truck campers

    Hi guys I have a Chevy Colorado with the v6 it's the work truck it's the 2022 with the 5,2 bed Chevy says i can't have a truck camper on it i have texted and e mail them no answer maybe you can help me out

    • @WelcomeToTheOutdoors
      @WelcomeToTheOutdoors  11 месяцев назад

      Look on your driver's door for the tire and load rating. It should tell you there. It is probably going to be somewhere between 1,380 - 1,530 lbs. But double-check and make sure for your specific truck.
      You said 5,2 bed. I am not sure what that means, if you have a regular truck bed then the following should work.
      With that load rating, you will be fine with any popup style camper that sits on top of bed like Hardsider, Super Pacific, Harker, Explore Elevated, etc. Whats going to matter is then how much weight you add after the fact.
      You can also contact any of these companies and they should be able to help you to see if their camper is compatible with your truck.
