It sounds hot, like a rolled/very well broken in bat. Which only means one thing, it’ll break easy.
Will from the bat bros already proved this. Yes, he’s bigger than most that’ll swing a -5 but there are strong kids out there that’ll snap this.
The compression has to be super low. Since Easton hasn’t been top dog for a very long time with DeMarini and Marucci dominating the USSSA world it seems like Easton went for maximum exit velos and didn’t worry about durability.

Composite bats take a bit to break in, after 300-500 swings it should be good

Prob not as durable considering gonna be a thinner barrel that’s the only reason it’s pingyer also lower exit velos usually on higher drop weight usssa bats

What's better this or the cat X?
Hype fire is better especially in drop 5
Hype Fire is hotter out of the wrapper. Durability wise the Cat X wins hands down and if you have a really broken in Cat X Composite it’ll keep up but the Hype will still beat it, just not by much.
How's it compare to the old XL1 drop 5's?
Just as hot, lighter swinging, not as durable
