Nice one. But information on the exact status of the project was not stated. For instance it is starting from VI, They have passed Landmark, have they reached Jakande, or Osapa or Okun Ajah?
That road is too narrow for the urban traffic that it will have to sustain - you will need a minimum of 3 lanes on each side until the road gets out of Lagos when it can be reduced to two lanes per side. Ideally, the coastal road along VI all the way to Ibeju Lekki should have a minimum of 5 lanes in each direction. If we want to do something, let us do it properly once and for all!
This area is Victoria Island, the train track will start from Lekki. If they have to start the train track from here, they will have to demolish more buildings than they did.
Nice one! I think the dredging of eko Atlantic phase 2 at the same time is holding them back, they would have gone a lot further with the road..Nice to see the progress though.l support this coastal highway,l think it is needed unlike sokoto to badagary.😅Thank you.
It's not, do you know that the phase 2 has also started at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun, the Ogun waterside, the sokoto badagry is also important, it connects the sahel, it's am important trade route and we barely have highways in the country
@@AdekunleEnoch-n1g Whst is not?If they were not building eko Atlantic at the same time they would have done a lot more than the current stage, including the phase 2 at the border of ogun state.
Tinubu is looking to win the South without needing the Northern vote. If this road is completed before 2024, the South-South will pour all their votes into APC.
I don't know if there's going to be a drainage and pavement because it's a federal road that runs through many states or there may decide to have it in the lagos side.
I've seen the drainage system on another RUclips channel. It's an underground drainage system and there are few manholes around if you need to confirm it. For the completed section there are walkways
I support and appreciate this project, but the road fall short of international standard, compare to the quality of roads we see here in Europe, Nigeria should employ competent construction company who will use latest technology to design project of such magnitude
I am in gulf countries, an engineer in infra, The standard here is not better than what they are showing us in that project....road quality is okay just need a better designated walkways and a bit aesthetic value.
@@azeeznurudeenademola2224it will be done, the sandy side is where the drainage is already, the walk way will be constructed there and the government also purchased lands to build hotels, results and government companies
We don't need it now. This is not necessary because federal roads of the south from Abuja to the southeast and South South are all in dilapidated. Our major priorities are those roads for now.
Mumu, what is this road for? Is this road not to the south as well? Ode. All you people want is for FG to keep sinking in trillions of naira year after year on old roads that have been dilapidated and need complete overhaul.
A country like nigeria should not be making noise over this lagos calabar coastal road at all but why am I surprised? (ofcos this is nigeria, noisy people) Why should a country with over 250 million people be constracting a *2 lane double road* from lagos to calabar in 2024 when Ghana of just about 34 million is constracting a *6 lanes double road from Accra to Tema city* and another *6 lanes double road from Accra to Nsawam* town? Its a shame
The flooring does not look smooth, even and qualitative to me. I cannot also see well-designed drainage channels by the sides of the road or the more modern covered bucket sink drains in the middle of the roads. I wonder what design and method the contractor is using, unlike what I have observed in developed countries or any of the forward-thinking and futuristic African countries. The rough surface worries me and needs to be smoothed out to look like glazed pavements.

I have been to the site on several occasions. There's underground drainage on the sides of the road just like Eko Atlantic drainage. Concrete circular pods have been laid at the edge of the road.

I am Lagosian, and I love your channel. This is really a transformative project.
Yes, it's really going to make a big difference. Thanks for watching.
What is transformative about it, when most of our federal roads in the country are bad
They're making quick progress. Good to see.
Yes, they're making progress.
Infrastructural development is way to go for growth and progress in any emerging country

Welldone 🙌... amazing progress!
Thanks Victoria.
Good one👍. I hope they continue with the pace, even faster!

Thanks for the feedback. Will be doing a follow up video.
Good presentation
Thank You.
I think the road is standard, The concrete looks solid
Yes, it does look solid.
Please always do well to add more aerial view and also if possible Modulation
Thanks for the feedback.
I hope that there is a plan for rail lines on the road, it will serve a great purpose.
yes, there will be a rail line in the median.
@@AfamOrjiI thought the plan was later erased after the project got reviewed to cut cost?

Thanks for sharing, but the road seem not seem not to have any pedestrian walkway or drainage systems.
I'm not quite sure that there's a provision for it. I'll find out and do a follow up video.
it has underground drainage
You only show us the Victoria island area without the other areas your video is incomplete
Good job, you are doing, but you keep showing only one area as progress made for months
Thanks...I'll do a follow up video talking about the progress made.
@AfamOrji Thanks for the response,
Where is the train track??
Good question!
Who knows they might have changed the design after deceiving Nigerians with such humongous amount for this project.
This area is Victoria Island, the train track will start from Lekki.

@AfamOrji No,they are constructing eko Atlantic 2 as well as constucting lagos calabar coastal highway.

Sokoto Badagry is equally important if not more because most the food will eat in the country will be passing through that route.

I don't know if there's going to be a drainage and pavement because it's a federal road that runs through many states or there may decide to have it in the lagos side.
it's by the sea side and it's a high way . the sand nature would absorb any liquid then to the sea
The drainage is under the sand, that's where the pavement will be, check out iamgbolahan
