In this video.... Tyler was 12 years old and had been playing the violin for 4.5 years. Tyler is a Leukemia Survivor (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), he was diagnosed when he was 4 1/2 years old and now in remission.

About Tyler:
Tyler Butler-Figueroa is a young musician who has touched many hearts and continues to inspire millions of people through his graceful violin playing. Tyler has been on America's Got Talent, America's Got Talent: Live on Stage (in Las Vegas, NV), The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and America's Got Talent: The Champions Edition. Tyler was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a kind of blood cancer when he was four and a half years old. He had to go through three years of chemotherapy, which led him to lose his hair. Because of his appearance, many children would bully him. He has overcome these difficulties by playing the violin. He tells his story whenever he performs a song.

I was talking with him about the importance of being a leader and never being a bully. I talked with him about standing up for other kids who are being bullied and being a true leader. I've been bullied and I have bullied others. I've never thought much about it, I never truly felt it in my heart, until I watched your story and your first audition. Hearing what you went through Tyler truly hurt my heart. But as soon as you started playing that 🎻 violin, a star was born. Seeing you play in all of your videos, Tyler, you are a hero. Not only for what you have overcome, but for making me realize how important it is and how hurtful it can be to bully others. When I see your videos, playing your music for others, I'm truly envious they have the opportunity to be around someone so great. I'm hoping one day me and my son will have the privilege to see you perform live.
