Three, five, o, one, two, five go! I was there in the back stage When the first light came around I grew up like a changeling To win the first time around I can see all the weakness I pick all the faults Well I concede all the faith tests Just to stick in your throats 31G, 31G, 31G ! I hung around in your soundtrack To mirror all that you've done To find the right side of reason To kill the three lies for one I can see all the cold facts I can see through your eyes All this talk made no contact No matter how hard we tried 31G, 31G, 31G I can still hear the footsteps I can see only walls I slid into your man-traps With no hearing at all I just see contradiction Had to give up the fight Just to live in the past tense To make believe you were right 31G, 31G, 31G ! Three, five, o, one, two, five
A 5 star song: Warsaw - Joy Division [Salford, Greater Manchester, England] - 1977 - "An English Punk walk through the history of World War II. Though the earliest tracks like...were a strange sort of art punk, there was already something distinct about the group,... My Favorite early song by them." - Substance 1977-1980 (Qwest)-1988.
I come from Poland and I must say that it reminds me of some old shool punk rock thing that was happening in early 80`s on an underground music scene, especially when you have censorship employed by the government...
in 1980 there was talks of releasing rudolph hess. ian read the newspaper with info on his involvement and made the song "warsaw". i know all this because i studied history before and know about the leadership.
its all about rudolph hess life. 31g was his prisoner number - i was there in the backstage when first light came around -(hess involvement in beer hall putsch coup) i grew up like a changeling to win the first time around- -(his family were staunch german nationalists. hess grew up with a strong mentality) i can see all the weakness i can pick all the faults (- saw problems like "treaty of versaille" weaken germany
@dass0137 I disagree. I think that Palace of Culture is realy pretty example of socrealistic architecture, and also a symbol of Warsaw. Many people says that it should be destroyed, but it's so stupid. First: how to do it in the centre of city, second: why people connect it with whole stalinism, it's a part of polish culture we can't evaporate it
with no hearing at all (refused advice to avoid hitlers orders with strong determination of making ally with britain to salvage germany and avoid war on two fronts). i just seek contradiction, had to give up the fight ( salvage germany by any means) just to live the past tence, make believe you were right ( pretend it was like he was back supporting hitler with absolute loyalty although his views changed of him- had to justify situation)
I love WARSAW !!!! Both the band and the city !!!!
