But feminism has mucked up this system and scamming is one of the manifestations of the societal dysfunction feminism has caused. Many of the problems feminism causes, in its mission to help women get a fairer go, actually do the very reverse and actually harm women's lives eg scams, overworked women in workplaces, husbands who actually expect their wife to bring home a pay packet, battered wives ie domestic violence etc etc. All caused by feminism, ultimately. Remove the feminism and these problems quickly diminish, though there have always been and always be some problem males who need to be pulled into line. However, it is not women who can do this. In many traditional European societies, it is all the rest of the good men in a family or village, led by the most senior good grandfather or oldest father, who takes hold of the aberrant male failing to shape up as a good father and husband and they simply give him a jolly good beating, to sort him out and get him back on track. This system works very well. There are also ways of bringing aberrant females into line. In an earlier historical era, some were burnes at the stake as witches, others forced to be sex slaves in brothels or they had their heads shaved and were dragged by rope through the town naked, to expose them eg for adultery etc. Depending on how serious their female offending was. They’d obviously had their ID’s stolen. Thankfully I am still deeply in love with my childhood sweetheart and so have absolutely no interest in talking to any other men. My stepson was scammed via Facebook. He ended up on a video chat either on Facebook or Skype with a young woman wearing very little and being very sexual. Him being around 19, got aroused and did what boys do. But the ‘woman’ he was chatting to was a video playing and they were filming him, saying they’d send the video to his parents inc me, and his friends if he didn’t pay. He was horrified as his mother is deeply religious and strict. He confided in me and I contacted the scammer telling them the lad had told EVERYONE about the scammers and what he had done. I told them that all young men and nearly all men do it and it’s nothing to be ashamed of, whereas they ought to be ashamed for preying on young people. I mean, if my SS hadn’t had me to talk to he would have been distraught and I dread to think what would happen. It wasn’t long after I saw a notice not to fall for that particular scam so they’d been doing it on a bigger scale.

I don't understand how they have that much to give in the first place. I wouldn't give them a dime though. What respectable grown man asks for all that money from a woman they just met anyway?
I agree but look at all those people that don't ask questions or do any research and give their money to strangers on crowd funding sites. At the top of my head there are at least 4 people that scammed people-pretending to have cancer, have a sick child, or collecting money for their bucketlist because they will die.
@@dp7047 You people here are too harsh. I have been with my sweetheart for 47 years. I cannot imagine living without her. Loneliness is a terrible drug. If your mate is ill then prepare for your future. I love my wife and I hope I am with her for a long time.
Joan said it perfectly, "I was hearing what I wanted to hear." This is what they target, people who are broken and vulnerable. It's disgusting and my heart goes out to her.
@@aureliusmarcus1817 you don't think the 50 something woman who's all alone after becoming a widow 10 years earlier and hasn't dated since, isn't vulnerable? (For example) Or the 30 year old virgin who's never had a long term relationship before isn't? These scammers are masters of manipulation and can get a sense of who will take the bait or not very quickly! Again, that person benefits from hearing (lies ultimately) what they need to hear in their life. For example, say the furnace cleaner calls you about getting your furnace cleaned. If you have _no need_ for a cleaning right now you likely say no thank you and end the call. But if you actually _do need_ yours cleaned, you'll likely let the caller go on with their sales pitch. If you like what you're hearing, then you may hire them. Same concept!
This happened to me, but I was wise to the scam. I had so much fun turning the tables back on to the guy who was trying to scam me. I led him on promising to send him money for almost a month. Slowly but surly he started to realise that he was being taken for a ride. Listening to him call me things that I had never even heard of before. But, it was music to my ears. That sh*t bag will never quite know now when he is trying to scam another trusting lonely woman, if she is aiming it right back at him.
These women are completely out of touch with reality. You know how to protect yourself from these types of scammers? Ask yourself, "Has a guy like this/who looks like this ever approached me in real life?" No? Then why would they approach you online? Be realistic about your gettable gets, and you'll be wary and sharper when he seems too good to be true.
+YellowZinnias That's not always correct. Meeting someone online does have the benefits of getting to know someone on the inside without judging completely on looks themselves. You may end up falling in love with someone you normally wouldn't go for if you saw them out and about in the world. Once you start liking someone, they look totally different to you. The number one rule is: never send someone you have never met in person money or any personal information!!! That's how you avoid these scams, and before investing your true feelings into someone, do your research. I always ask for a picture of them holding up a sign that says something of my choice, and I need it sent within a certain time so I know it is really them and not someone they know or are working with to scam me, but then again I would never send them money or anything at all unless we were serious enough to meet in person, so they would have no reason to scam me, it would be a waste of their time if they tried. I am too smart, though, I know a scammer as soon as they send the first few messages.
When they were reading the emails the one thing I noticed was how schmaltzy they were - which tells me they may have had unrealistic expectations to begin with if that's what they "wanted to hear."
I totally agree. If anyone started talking to me that way I would run, not walk, for the hills. Its not romantic it’s just ‘B’ movie bullshit and completely off putting IMO
I get endless friend request from middle-aged men mostly. We have no mutual friends and there's no information on their sites. I always always delete. Some have persisted since they can't stop thinking about me. (Can I help it if I'm hot?) and I block them
anna manning ...you also need to block them. Set your settings so no one can friend you unless they’re friends of a friend. If not that just read the settings on fb.
To start with most of these ladies have very low self esteem. They are starved of love and affection and so all it takes is a little attention and flattery and they flip. Sad but true.
I had someone add me on yahoo messenger. he sent me pictures of himself (supposedly) as a soldier so I thought "this will be fun, I'll play along" Got loads of messages about the fact that his wife had died shortly after giving birth, his daughter was being cared for by a nanny here in the UK, his father had left him properties in Cyprus worth millions blah blah blah. I let him continue to message then he started asking for small amounts of money on the pretext that his mobile internet bill was coming up & if he didn't get it paid he wouldn't be able to talk to me. I asked how he paid it before he said his sergeant had paid it for him & he would be reimbursing him come pay day but the sergeant was now posted somewhere else. I started getting bored so I asked the fatal question. "You say that you're an american soldier so how comes your use of english & sentence construction is like a nigerian??" Never heard from him again. He literally disappeared within a few seconds of me asking that. I've had a few since then but I always get rid of them by saying "Yes, I'm a nice lady but I'm no mugu!" They can't run fast enough cos then they know that you know they're a scammer. (BTW for anyone who doesn't know, a mugu is someone who isn't too bright & easily had pretty much like these women)
In many cases, the victims are older without any online dating experience or dealing with scammers. The "trick" is to do as much as possible to get the word out about "romance scams."

donna croxece ...I agree. Do they really need someone in their life that bad? If they have all that money to send to some scammer it can’t be for money. Heck go play bingo, join a country club, join the YMCA, take a cruise do something else besides setting in front of a computer hoping Prince Charming is gonna pop out of the screen. If you have that much to throw away...throw it to me I need a new roof for my house.
@@mermaidgirl9232 Well yeah, I guess obviously they do need somebody in their life that bad or they probably wouldn't be on their laptops looking for someone to be with and being scammed right out of their money, time and feelings in the hopes that the exchange will be love and a true relationship. Imo if a person is actually sending money for love, then their pain of loneliness must be very deep. I feel bad for them. Nobody wants to feel that lonely and undesired in life.

What’s wrong with a “middle aged” woman falling for a younger man and why can’t he be attractive? Should he be ugly because she is an “older” woman? You need to grow up!
Not just women, old men have believed that a young girl is with them because of LOVE but the reality is their money. Do you know a 60 plus bus driver who has a young gorgeous wife? No, did not think so. Both sexes are stupid and desperate when they age. Sad but true.
They are not dealing with reality. So sad and pathetic. However IMO there are more older men that are fools that think young women are attracted to them and it is only what they can offer financially.
I agree; Why would a handsome sailor or officer get mixed up with a woman who most like;u is unattractive and stupid.and desperate. And some of them go on tv shows and further humiliate themselves in front of millions of viewers. NO CLASS, NO BRAINS.
What happened to commonsense ladies? Ask yourself what the man sees in you in the first place. If it's too good to be true, then it is..............Why go to meet these men on their territory? 20, 30 etc years age difference........ladies really?
3 rules to stick by when meeting someone online: - check his/her picture on internet - insist on skype - if the first two points check out, meet in person and take someone with you Then take it from there. If step 1 raises questions and they do refuse step 2 it's time to say bye bye. How difficult can it be?

Pls ladies, as much as we are desperate for love, let us be vigilant with this scams. I am very old fashioned and don’t believe in social media relationships. I do not accept any request of someone I don’t know, full stop.
Ladies if it's to good to be true, it is. $100,000!!! It's wretched to take advantage of someone lonely enough to fall for it, but ladies use your common sense!
These are the kind of women that keep these scammers in business. I just don't understand how people can be so gullible. Do these women live in Mars? No matter the reason, even if your on-line lover has one more day to live. PLEASE, DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW VERY WELL AND HAVE NEVER MET. PERIOD.
Biggest red flag for me is when the scammers as their alias persona's say "there are people after them." or they are taken hostage somehow or their credit cards are stuck and need money. My best advice I would have said was "here is the address and phone number to the nearest embassy. they can help." Never send money or goods.
Always quiz them and when they fail, you save your money. Had a sad "military guy" on FB say hi to me. One picture, no friends, just started on FB, all big red flags. Obviously stole the pic from some real military guy. Said he was stationed in Europe. (But in the pic he was wearing desert fatigues) lol Ummm there is one desert there and we do not have military personnel there. So I had a little fun with him. Ask him if he had fought at Chigotanabad lol He was like, oh yes, was terrible. The more outlandish I was, the more he tried to tell me how much he liked me, then loved me..... it escalated in like 30 minutes. Then I hit HIM up for money. lol He freaked and left. We howled about it for days.
Yes. And I hope they all find the love they crave. But it might be wiser for them to seek it in their own local community, rather than on line. The ones in a woman's local community are often dull and boring, not particularly appetising men, but they are likely to be more trustworthy. If they had a female companion, they could often improve. The online guys look alluring because you don't see all their flaws on line, only their good aspects. It is easy to be conned this way. But not as easy in person, in real life meetings. You can study your man very closely.
There's a simple solution to fix this problem, you know what it is? Don't trust someone you have never met in person. How could a person claim to love you when they have never met you? There's a reason why parents teach their kids "stranger danger". Its honestly common sense. Learn to stop trusting people.
I’ve experienced guys sending messages on dating apps too. Usually it seems like the messages are very similar. The English is too proper, they start out by saying ‘hello pretty’ or something weird like that. The pictures seem too perfect. I feel it’s easy to recognize the red flags pretty early on. At least in my experience it was. There must be scammers that are better at it than the ones who have sent me messages.
S Burch I agree. I have to say you had me in stitches when you pointed out that they always start with something weird like, ‘Hello Pretty.’ Just tickled me so much because I noticed these guys actually do talk like that 😂
They specifically target older women and plain women sorry to say. For petes sake... Africa? get a clue you ladies out there. Often they target overweight women too. (I am one too (tubby) but it's a fact they target those who desperately do not want to be alone). Ladies try to live your life alone with a pet and hobbies. If you are a committed born again christian pray to the Lord to find you a partner that is totally suitable. It may take a while but if you are sincere it could well happen. Anyone asking for money via the net... RUN....same with so called pastors who ask for donations on the net don't be a drongo. Do not give money to a living soul online even if they sound lovely.
And yes, they absolutely target women "without charms", so to speak. They know the attractive, fit, stylish women are less likely to be 'desperate'. The women they target really need to ask themselves if such men (as per the pics) would cross a room to flirt with them in real life. The answer is always NO ... NOT A CHANCE. That's the first test. The second is asking for money/phones etc.
Yes. I am not fat or ugly, though not young. But when a scammer told me he wanted to lay in my great big arms, I thought "Wait a minute...This sounds like he is reading from a script he reads to all women, without even checking out their measurements. That is when I knew it was a scam, after the first session online. But I kept acti g dumb and naive, playing along with it all, just to see what he would do or say next...
One of my wifes friend sold her house for over 1 million dollars needless to say its all gone and she ended living in public housing. it was like banging your head against a brick wall.we tried she saw what happened but is in denial.smh.
So sorry for her we need to be more prayerful..these scammers use evil powers to control their victims spiritually and emotionally so its easy to manipulate them especially those who aren't spiritual
I agree that would be an alarm bell but it seems these women are so desperate to be loved they believe the dream and just do not use common sense. Really sad that women can be so desperate for affection and attention. Just sad.
Liz H. I agree totally. I have no sympathy for these stupid gullible people who willingly send money to others they never met. Being lonely is one thing, but being stupid is entirely another.
These women should ask the basic question. A man who looks like this, would he be interested romantically to a woman like me? Buy a big mirror and do an objective assessment.

I agree but look at all those people that don't ask questions or do any research and give their money to strangers on crowd funding sites. Joan said it perfectly, "I was hearing what I wanted to hear." This is what they target, people who are broken and vulnerable. It's disgusting and my heart goes out to her.
They are NOT vulnerable.
My heart doesn't go out to her anymore than it does to my friends who try to date woman that are not age appropriate. Can you say dirty old women ?

Well I'm dirt poor lol. You can't get blood out of a turnip my grandfather used to say. Luckily I met someone who loved me for my charm and beauty 🤓

If something sounds too good to be true, it more than likely is.
Yeah if it sounds too good to be true , it usually is
+YellowZinnias That's not always correct.

The problem is these are middle age women who believe that a young and attractive men are head over heels in love them. It's kinda weird.

Biggest red flag for me is when the scammers as their alias persona's say "there are people after them." or they are taken hostage somehow or their credit cards are stuck and need money. My best advice I would have said was "here is the address and phone number to the nearest embassy. they can help."
Never send money or goods.
There is no shame or regret in wanting to love and to be loved.I wish all these ladies the very best!
They're not looking for love. Don't be fooled.

I’ve experienced guys sending messages on dating apps too. Usually it seems like the messages are very similar. The English is too proper, they start out by saying ‘hello pretty’ or something weird like that. The pictures seem too perfect. I feel it’s easy to recognize the red flags pretty early on. At least in my experience it was. There must be scammers that are better at it than the ones who have sent me messages.
