Love all the direct ties to The Messenger like this, plus it was cool seeing the Shopkeeper and hearing his shop music again. Continuing the story about the boy in the well is such a nice addition!!
Finished Sea of Stars, all feats except one. Just started the Messenger for the first time, but I already find amazing the many Messenger references they put in SoS. Already liking the shopkeeper a lot with his funny stories 😅
The shopkeeper is very obviously a player avatar for the writer and hoo boy do I identify with him just so strongly. Thank you for making this incredible game.
I might be reading too much into this but if im not mistaken. the shopkeepers monologues are thoughts of Thierry Boulanger, the game director. Has Thierry been the shopkeeper since the messenger? If its a: "yeah, no shit sherlock" situation im sorry but i just realized.
Yeah The Messenger is a much less serious game--while still telling a compelling story--and Shopkeeper (who is canonically actually a woman) has always been a kind of voice for the writer. She often speaks directly to the player or speaks about events with Ninja (the Messenger) as if knowing they're in a game, and commenting on gaming tropes.
@@nikolavetnic3088 Probably has the same thing as the spanish translation, where the Shopkeeper is allways male. The thing that happened is that shopkeeper was revealed female a while after the game was released and translated.
The Messenger is another game made by Sabotage Studios, and The Shopkeeper is a character from that game. There are a lot of connections between the two games, like with Autumn Hills and a late game level in The Messenger called the Sunken Shrine, for example

@@dr.ramilo84 Yes its a she. In French it's "commerçante". Feminin for "Commerçant" aka Shopkeeper in english
But in German it’s the “Ladenbesitzer” where as feminine would be “Ladenbesitzerin”.
