There are many affordable ev models in China, around $30,000 to $40,000 USD. BYD Tang, GAC Aion X, LX, S, V, Xpeng P5 P7, Li One. But it might take a long time for them to expand to global market. Selling in Europe is very promising. But here in the US, I’m not sure if the US would allow any Chinese EV brands to sell lol.
A few Nio's have been seen tooling around San Jose, home to the NIO USA headquarters and R&D, where a lot of their software development occurs. They also have design teams in Europe. Nio's a Chinese EV, but it is much more global than that in its design.
