- Polestar cars are put through the paces in some of the harshest conditions imaginable. Taking to the frozen north, a team of engineers visited the Arctic Circle fto test a winter rally verison of Polestar 2.

Flying across a frozen lake in the far north of Sweden in a winter rally Polestar 2, Chassis Engineer Joakim Rydholm tests the precision, power, and handling of the electric car and its chassis. This experimental model is equipped with adjustable dampers, winter tyres, and carbon fibre skid plates to help fine tune the performance capabilities of its road ready version.

But now do a test for the opposite type of adverse environment. Do an optimised Polestar 2 for hot climate conditions: with 40°C summer weather, long bumpy roads, and sudden storms with heavy rain.

Paddles would be nice on the production Polestar 2 to control regenerative braking levels. I have them in my E-Tron and use it all the time. Also, you should release the Polestar 1 matte paint colours for the Polestar 2.
Why can't polestar create performance kit's to have this man work in customers hands, why 😭
Are the Recaros going to be a future option or would we need to contact them direct to purchase and install? Do we know the cost for the front two seats to be upgraded to recaro?

Yes this is what we need! It's a fantastic looking car.
My concern about this video though, yeah cool you have completed track testing in arctic conditions. But where is the testing for living with the car in snow and ice? Do the door handles work after 6 hours of snow and freezing outside, or if I open something does built-up snow fall inside for example?
No issues with frozen door handles. When you live in an area with snow there is no way snow will not get inside your car when eg. opening doors. No car can prevent this.
Our intense winter testing programme runs for 15 weeks from December to March every year. During these weeks, the cars are tested and pushed to the very limit. The testing programme is a lot more extensive than what is shown in this particular video. It includes many tests to make sure the Polestar experience is as good as possible 🙌
This is a polestar, a real car company that is not worried about how fast you can get to 60mph. Polestar engineers were very smart using normal door handles.
Love your effort, sadly a normal polestar 2 doesn't want to do any of that. it's sad that you don't let your cars be performance cars due to your safety mentality.

I think it would be good if there would be a winter set up that can be similar to this. And the Polestar 2 winter tyres should be a bit more like the ones used, at least more narrow than then ones you get with your car.

Did you make any changes to the ESC from what comes standard?
The Polestar 2 shown here had no modifications to ESC and was driven in sport mode, which is available in all Polestar 2 cars 😊

Is this with the stock ESC programing? I like the xc40 offroad mode where ESC is very much off, but unfortunately it is limited to 50kmh wheel speed. Is Polestar 2 implementation different given sporting credentials?
Yes, this is with the stock ESC program! This car was also driven in sport mode, which is available in all Polestar 2s 😊

warum sehe ich eigentlich Werbung für den Polestar 2, wenn dieses Auto doch genau all das hat, was ich Niemals in meinem Auto haben möchte?
Angefangen bei den 20" Reifen, die Ich lieber in 16" hätte, mit 17" könnte ich vielleicht noch leben.
Dann das Glasdach, was einfach unangenehm während der Fahrt ist.
Und der zentrale Bildschirm, der Nutzbare Fläche an der wichtigsten Stelle im Auto versperrt, ohne einen praktischen Nutzen zu haben.
Ich vermute mal, sowas praktisches, wie Drehregler für Lautstärke und Klimaanlage wird es ebenso wenig geben, wie ein Zündschloß.
Baut mal Autos, und keine Smartphones auf Räder, dann sehen wir uns vielleicht.
so basically you got a new polestar car its not 2 if you add those many things lol. man if only they know how to put a cup holder ina car. i had to clean my car like 3 times because of that stupid placement of cup holder lol

All EVs can drive there, so what's the point? I tested it and tested the Model 3 long range, Tesla drives way better. People use these cars to drive to work and transport the family and not to play in the north of Sweden, and Polestar 2 has a bad consumption...
What do you suggest as better alternative? Kia, Hyundai? New BMW i4?
@@Kolja1987 try them all if you are interested in an EV. Don't listen to Swedes, they talk a lot and exaggerate a lot, even the silliest thing. The driver seating in PS2 is horrible and the middle console is high and the windows are small, bad proportions. Hyundai Ioniq and Tesla have a very airy open cabin, you feel relaxed...
You sound like a true fanboy - you have no interest in cars in general and don't care about the look and feel of the car you drive - for you it's just a household appliance and you would happily drive around in a bananabox on four wheels as long there is a Tesla badge on it.....
@@robertkempe2730 for me, a car is something a person uses to move around, and I don’t have an EV, I just said what I thought about driving both cars, and I am neither a Tesla nor a Musk fan.
