      @@JackallDigital it's an applied sciences place too like man what are we even doing here? day 1 of this class she announced the final project for the semester, we get two weeks of class where she dodges questions for 3 hours at a time, then we got a few months of voluntary coaching sessions we could attend where she again dodged questions and it's becoming increasingly apparent that she doesn't have the practical or applied knowledge required to actually teach this class, all she is qualified to do really is grade our exams and that's the part she is rushing towards, even cutting our available time as short as she is allowed to do without breaking university rules. absolute insanity, but at least it's state financed here...

I'm getting a head start on other projects as well, they're just not video focused. it's a pretty wide ranging degree program in terms of what classes are mandatory attendance. video just isn't my thing, so I'm glad I found a tutorial especially because we're being forced to use davinci while my entire existing workflow is in Premiere which our university refuses to finance licenses for (oh well...) That is good to hear that it still somehow works. When it comes to the black background, just go to the background node(s), leave the color to black, but set the Alpha to 0. That should give you a transparent background.

Still thank you.. Impressive skills. I will look for newbie stuff next :) I simply wanted to find out how to do a simple waveform and I ended here...Any other video editors can do it easily? This is no way I am going to waste time on to learn...

      Hello @naeyo, thank you for the feedback. From my experience DaVinci Resolve is really not suited for audio visualizers, you can make them, but it depends on what you're looking for. From the visualizer playlist that I have, the one that uses MIDI is probably the simplest ruclips.net/p/PLg4tPAeoYVcV65GEYTFOqItlBRdd3mPUs
      When it comes to other softwares, I know you can make audio visualizers in Blender. I did stumble on musicvid.org, which seems abandoned, but they made a new version on vizzy.io so that's something you could look into.

      Thank you. I will go through your playlist and start with the most easy part and learn more. This video was very advanced. Will look at the other suggestions as well. @@JackallDigital its the same thing. in your video in which you say you are using the free version, its running very smooth for you. for me, with a much stronger cpu and faster ram, its unbearably slow. redners with 6 fps only. whats going on?

    • @JackallDigital
      @JackallDigital  2 года назад

      @murfad One difference that comes to mind is the clip duration. I probably used an audio file that's less than 10 seconds long, whereas yours is 4 minutes. The timeline frame rate is also a factor, I'm pretty sure I used 24fps, are you perhaps using 60fps? While in Edit page you can go to the playback tab and set the fusion render to smart so you can preview it once it renders on the timeline.
      What I can suggest is that you use short audio samples and test them with the visualizer look that you want to make, and once you're happy use the whole audio file.

    • @JackallDigital
      @JackallDigital  2 года назад +1

      So I made a quick visualizer and used a 4 minute audio clip - I too had to wait more than 10 minutes for it to render out on the timeline (ram, cpu and gpu were only used up at maximum 30% capacity). I can only assume there is something "wrong" with how the audio waveform is obtained, as per the plugin description a 16bit 44khz wave file has more than 3000 samples per frame at 24fps, so that's a lot of samples to process.

    I followed this tutorial step by step.
    5:40 No matter what I do to the X value this line is still there, it can be longer or shorter but it never disappears, no matter the amount of rectangle copies nor how i move them around can get rid of this line entirely. How to proceed?

    • @JackallDigital
      @JackallDigital  4 месяца назад

      Do you mean the line masking at about 4:50 ? I can't say why the masked line would still be visible as I see no reason for it to be visible. All I did was make the rectangle big enough and position it up on the Y axis just so the rectangle was over it (and I applied the invert checkbox). But maybe something has changed in newer versions of resolve, I made this visualizer in version 17, which version of resolve are you using?

    • @JackallDigital
      @JackallDigital  Год назад

      Hi @Darren Evans , I haven't found a way to do so easily and I'm looking for alternatives outside of davinci resolve, because let's be honest this plugin and davinci resolve have limitations when it comes to audio visualizers. However, you could for instance use a transform node after the audio plugin to scale the straight waveform down and position it where you want. You could then use a mirror node, or a bunch of transforms in parallel to make your desired shape, or use a duplicate node. No solution is ideal but it's the only way that I found to make shapes (there may be more). The downside is, each side of the shape will have the same looking waveform unless you use masks to show only part of the waveform.

      Hi @Art Survives Artist
      - at 4:05 did you change in the background node the resolution to be a square ie. 1080x1080 or 1920x1920? You could also add a transform node after the AudioWaveform node and adjust the Center Y position - this should move the waveform up/down which will give a different result when you then use the coordinate space - meaning you should get a bigger/smaller circle in the middle before the waveform is shown.
      - When it comes to the Ellipse, I only connected it as a mask to the Merge5 node (to the blue arrow input) and as a mask to the Merge4 node, I later replace it with Merge6 as I animate the size in Merge4

      Hello @fabio.orlandi it's been a while since I made a visualizer but the first thing that I would try doing is duplicating the visualizer bars. Inside the duplicate node I would set the number of copies, I would lower the blend to like 0.9 and I would adjust the offset by a few frames. The result should be that you'll get a smoother looking animation, however, this will probably also be more intensive on the system.

      @fabio.orlandi as you discovered the plugin is limited to 50MB per audio file. What you could do is split the audio into smaller sections, probably around 4 to 6minutes long audio clips (depends on quality), which could be annoying to do. Alternatively you could compress the audio file with ffmpeg by lowering it's bitrate - I haven't tried this, but it should work. However, I don't know how accurate the voice detection within the plugin would be.
