Not only am I waltzing in this, but I'm singing tenor, which is extremely difficult, considering we've been rehearsing EVERY DAY and the show is in two weeks, and on top of that we're doing lifts, which is (literally) breathtaking, hoping to make it to a full turn and reach each count correctly, etc. This song, is exhausting, but fun nevertheless. I'm an ensemble member, so I'm in all major dances. This show really is a lot of fun.

(Even though literally all my friends and the other teachers were telling me I was gonna get the role regardless 😅)Needless to say I am very very excited to play this role. There is nothing wrong with that. An actor/actress while they can and should be inspired by previous performances should always add something of their own to a role. It is why I always enjoy seeing multiple versions of a play as while it is the same story, the performers always give a new life to it.

Hey, if Disney could replace the controversial lyrics for “Prince Ali” which were “He’s got slaves, he’s got servants and flunkeys” in the original with “He’s got ten thousand servants and flunkeys” in the 2019 remake of Aladdin to be more politically correct and less racist against Arabic cultures, they can do the same with “Human Again” if the show gets revived in the future.

There is nothing wrong with that. An actor/actress while they can and should be inspired by previous performances should always add something of their own to a role. It is why I always enjoy seeing multiple versions of a play as while it is the same story, the performers always give a new life to it.

0:40 - 0:47 I’m gonna call it. If the show does get a Broadway revival, they’re going to rewrite that section to take out the verse “which should cause several husbands alarm”. Hey, if Disney could replace the controversial lyrics for “Prince Ali” which were “He’s got slaves, he’s got servants and flunkeys” in the original with “He’s got ten thousand servants and flunkeys” in the 2019 remake of Aladdin to be more politically correct and less racist against Arabic cultures, they can do the same with “Human Again” if the show gets revived in the future.
