I have that exact same 97" LG G2, and lemme tell you, at home, it takes up most of the wall. At the KC Convention Center? It looked like an 83" TV; much smaller! Same with the RTJ subs I bought. They were pretty small there, and then I brought them home and was wondering how I was gonna fit them in and have people able to walk to their seat at the same time.
Oh, man, I got to hurry up and build this thing for my theater room project. MadVR has gotten crazier this year!!!😊
Oh yeah!
@@Youthman Yeah, if I can build a MadVR video processor home theater PC from scratch and I’d make sure that I have of the correct parts that go into the MadVR Envy Extreme MKII, then I’ve already know that I’m going to save a lot of money by DIYing everything else in my immersive home theater experience
@@damianjackson5055 DIY is certainly a great way to save money as long as you are willing to put forth the effort required to learning the software and not having access to all of the features.
One reason I've always wanted a MadVR is for better tone mapping, which I don't know if I'll want on my OLED, and better motion interpolation; that sucks on my TV. It's okay, but not great.
I absolutely hate non-linear stretch. It's very distracting. Some theaters had it at MWAVE, and I didn't like how the image wobbled or how things were sometimes stretched. I'm an aspect-ratio purist since widescreen CRTs first came out. I hate that stretched look. I don't have a better word than saying it looks "low class". Like going to a high-dollar restaurant and getting plastic silverware.
But those are my preferences. Other people like non-linear stretch or just stretch in general. Won't change the fact that it just doesn't look right. I have an OLED, and you can't tell there are black bars.
Great video. Love the Extreme unit!
Fantastic video Mike. Now that I have a new LG C3 I am going to be rebuilding my whole surround sound system and I will for sure be looking into what MadVR has to offer.
Awesome video and great to see MadVR doing this. A MadVR is in my future
Thank you kindly Rob
I wish they'd make a more affordable unit for those of us on a budget.
I say the same thing about Ferrari. There are plenty of products in life that are luxury items. madVR Envy is one of them.
@Youthman 0:40 so, are there great processor companies who do much of the same things for less?
There are mainly two video processors currently on the market. Lumagen and madVR. I have no experience with Lumagen to know how they compare.
👍 👍
MadVR doing it right - supporting their customers. Next question is do they also supply repair manuals for their gear?
I'm so sad for not being able to go to MWAVE. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to go next year.
No, the units will need to be sent in for service or repair.
@@Youthman Thanks. I think it is rather sad that most manufacturers no longer build their equipment in ways that can be repaired by the owner anymore. Surely this is on purpose. However, I am grateful that service manuals are available for the older equipment that I own. I guess older is better. Thank goodness the companies from years ago were not as greedy as those today.
@welderfixer keep in mind, you are extremely rare. Most consumers do not have the knowledge nor the tools nor the experience needed to repair electronics. That’s why TVs, computers, cell phones, pretty much anything in electronics are now disposable. It’s much cheaper to buy a new one than it is to repair the old one I don’t think it has to do with greed.
I was very surprised by the low attendance figures, it, that is, the figure of five hundred attendees is correct . It's a shame if that figure is anywhere near accurate.
The reality is it’s a considerable investment for attendees. The $75 ticket is the cheapest part of the event. By the time you add hotel, flight, Uber or car rental, food, parking at the airport and at the hotel, it is likely anywhere between $1,500 - $3,000 investment. We are still in recession as well.
I’m curious, how going from 83 in year one, two 300 and year two, to 500 and year three would be considered shameful. Thats a 502% increase in two years.
@Youthman I did not say that figure was shameful. I was merely expressing my opinion that the attendance figure seemed quite low. I am glad you saw a significant increase in previous years' attendance figures. Of course, I am aware that the additional cost of attendance is considerable, coupled with the impact of the recession. Better luck for 2025.
My apologies. The use of shameful thew me off. No worries. 👍
