I was a volunteer with an egalitarian student's group in college called Woman as Hero, and April was sexual assault awareness month. We all wore yellow stickers on our jeans that said "NO MEANS NO" as an homage to a garbage verdict in Italy wherein a judge ruled that a woman who was raped brought about her victimization by wearing flattering jeans, and allowed the rapist to walk. I didn't think the message on the sticker was effective enough though. I voted that the stickers ought to have said "KILL RAPISTS" instead. While a popular suggestion, there was no way in hell the administrators would have allow that. So, alas, "NO MEANS NO" was what we hung our hats on.
