He could have distanced himself from it and been a total douchebag but the fact that he fully embraces his public image as Michael Knight is so awesome. The show and car is still relevant because David has always been there with it. Just a total legend.

Yup, gotta give the people what they want, because they made you, so to be grateful for that is to be humble and to recognize and embrace your iconic character role, because not every Actor gets that chance, to still be relevant 40 years later for someone they played. It's transcended time.

I'm rewatching the full show, now in High definition, and I love it more than ever, and MichaelDavid is kinda my hero. It was the coolest show and Michael-David is the coolest guy ever.
This show reminds me so much of my dad. Back in 84' he actually went out and bought a Trans Am and a black leather jacket, some bee sunglasses and swore he was Michael Knight. He loved driving that car around everywhere, to church and even to the corner liquor store which was only a few step away. Was great to have that car in the family till my younger brother wrecked it in 96' when he started to learn how to drive.

Gotta love this Man, only David can pull up for a meet in a real K.I.T.T and leave the interviewer in a moment of Awe. He did some cheezy things but he also made cool look easy.

My mom was a waitress at Resorts Casino in the late 80's. David Hasselhoff came in to her restaurant, ordered almost $300 in food, and didn't leave a tip.
A friend of mine met him at sea world when he was about 7 years old. He asked D.H. for an autograph. D.H. responded with _"You got $20 bucks?"_ my friend said _No?_
D.H. responded with _"then, get lost kid!"_ and shoved my friend out of his way.
These shared, but completely separate experiences is, in fact, the reason we ever became friends. Our mutual contempt for David Hasselhoff.

I fell in love with that car after that first episode in Sept of 1982. I have had a 1985 Trans Am and I bought a brand new 2002 Camaro Z28. Thank you NBC for changing the TV world forever.

I'm 65 and still weigh almost the same as I did when I was 35, I have had to be a little more careful with what I eat but if I can do it almost anybody can because nobody likes a beer or pizza more than me believe me.
@@pillred5974Your pizzas must be custom grown of all ingredients without the help of petrochemicals. Depending on soil and water that would be tested for good and bad elements and the seeds to grow (heirloom)you would have a pizza from 100 years ago.

Still the absolute best and my hero. The only star I've ever wanted to meet and I finally got to meet him a couple years ago when he was signing autographs at his nephew's coffee shop. I had always wanted to meet him, not because he was a star, but because he is such a wonderful person and has done so many good things and helped so many people. Even though he has been put through so much ridicule in the press, he still keeps giving and is so loving. I only got to see him for a second. He was trying to talk to me about a family he was helping when sadly one of the staff pushed me out the door. I really wish I could have talked to him more about it and tell him about my plans to help with handicap accessibility. Hopefully I will be able to someday. David you are still the absolute best in my eyes.

The one thing that brings me hope, is knowing that William Daniels family has a history of people living LONG lives. As long as he doest exit stage left, we can hopefully hear him voice KITT one more time.
My childhood hero. Seeing him drive Kitt again is an indescribable feeling for me. I used to watch the show with my mom before she died. It was our favourite show and we'd always predict which lady Michael would kiss. Since that, Pontiac Firebird Trans Am will forever be my favourite car. And I love black color also. I do, too, but I keep getting tickets if the police see me doing the “boosted jump” button thingy! The fuses are getting a little old, and I’m a bit concerned about the whole ejection seat thing when I have a passenger. Other than that, it runs like a champ and no worries! 🥂

There have been a few things done..we had team knight rider, then we had the 2008 which wasn't a reboot, but kinda continued. But bad writing, horrendous character or two...and writers guild strike didn't help.

The hoff an absolute legend saw him in a pantomime in Manchester years ago as Captain hook...aka captain hoff the hook lol...he was brilliant with the kids and the adult audience alike. Was a very enjoyable experience right up there next to Russ abbott in my pantomime experiences. An absolute kind and great A1 bloke.

The introduction to this show will be "Darkel Lakel, A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of criminals who operate above the law", as this story shows how they eluded FLAG for decades. It is so lovely watching David on the car..... lovely...... and is on tv in Spain now....
Some years ago, I was amazed to learn that Mr. Feeny from “Boy Meets World” was actually KITT from “Knight Rider”. Later on, I also found out he was Dr. Mark Craig on St. Elsewhere alongside a very young Denzel Washington at the same time he was KITT.

Considering that probably around 3 to 5 cars survived, the rest was destroyed - or had to be, because they were salvage cars.

I would assume that this KITT was a replica. The scanner had LED bulbs, & the dash was a season 1 & 2 style. The Knight Rider Historians channel own 2 of the surviving 5 Trans Ams. They own the Seasons 3 & 4 Semi used as FLAG'S mobile unit. The season 4 convertible KITT is in the Dezerland museum in Orlando Florida.👍

Just think - back in the 1980s people wanted the Firebird. Today, no Pontiac. No Firebird. Gas cars are going away (slowly). The Chevy Camaro (the twin) is still made but GM has already announced it will end production in 2026 when 10 years are up (its lifecycle, longer than most) So if you want a sports car like that one, you cannot wait much longer.

@@yell0wberry I liked that car as well but no longer offered. The highest track version of this new Camaro is one of the fastest cars ever tested by Car & Driver on the track however. So the performance is there if not quite the looks.

It's always a great pleasure to see David Hasselhoff behind the wheel of KITT. I mean seriously, Knight Rider has still a growing cult following, thanks to the 1982 Trans Am used in the show. People seem to forget that the show was primarily about a man and his car, especially the car, championing the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless. Leave the original 1980's TV Show alone, if it's to ruin it's legacy with a heartless new movie or shabby TV Show. Perhaps it will still proof that there's no competition for the original Knight Rider.
Remakes always never do the original justice.
Loved watching them film "Knight Rider" in Covina, Ca. and Even drove along side them for 1/2 mile on Grand Ave at San Bernadino Intersection. (Kitt was on a Dolley and rarely driven for close up shots)

The car chase and stunts of the 80s in my opinion look so much better than today since they were real compared to today’s CGI.

Image if they made a new Knight Ridder film... With the right script(which is hard in todays Hollywood) it has potential to be a really good one.
The funny thing is, he shot Knight Rider at Universal Studios Hollywood, so he's probably not far from where his old stomping grounds were.
