Oh man … Im glad I put this vid on , I got a 30W spooled up at a shop about six months ago … fished it once didnt hook up than it sat , I just pulled the leader off along with about 50 meters of braid (100lb) and theres all these wavy lines your showing on that slammer …. the shop does all the spooling out the back and I confirmed with the guy that I want it tight , I even said ide do it myself if he wasnt sure , He assured me he knew what I meant , I always do my own spooling the hard way but the one time I get them to do it its botched,,,, theyre not game anglers (JUST HIRED STAFF) and I think they just threw it on there loose after seeing this vid ,,, I was just thinking it was something that occured maybe their machine laid it wobbly or something because it is rather tight ?? Is that wavy affect caused by any other means , like a wobbly outa alignment machine??
No the wave effect if cause by the braid slipping on the spool or slack coming for the mono stretching from the inside of the spool towards the outside...
Lol I seriously doubt it will get anywhere near 200yds but I will do it ... but pretty sure the way spinning reels spool up it will never go back on right

Honest Question, when spooling up without the line roller on the bail, how do you know that you will be able to put back that much line? Let’s say something pulls out 600 yards, how can you be sure the reel itself will get that 600 back on just as tight? Hope my question makes sense! Great video- as always!!
I think if the reel has a straight line lay to begin with like a saragossa , slammer 3 , stella its sweet , but if you done this to an old penn spinfisher or penn z with bad line lay I would assume that what your implying would happen …...

That I would say a ton of other shops do.. takes the will to want to do it right ... several shops I know watch the channel and know the set up but stopped after a few months.. dont know why we get the reels after the fact and fixing their knots..

Sometimes the grease creates a suction and keeps it from coming off.. and your talking about removing the spool right?

Yes sir it does a lot of line spinning with the bail they have improved their spinning rotations but yes will expand a little.

Buying a penn slammer 10500 and using 40lb line is the same thing as buying a Ferari and only using the 1st gear.
All depends how you plan on using it... some times you still need the long game for big fish.. especially when you don't have the line to hold it
