Nice video as always. But I always wonder how to backup the data from the containers. Especially if they are so important like Bitwarden. Sometimes copying files isnt enough. Bitwarden recommends to dump the database. Youre screwed without a working backup. Would it be possible to also implement this in your videos?

Already had this installed but thanks for bringing up websocket support, I didn't know about it. Unfortunately implementation for the phone apps isn't there yet, but it works great for the browser extension and desktop app. Also if you want to use websocket support you need to update custom location on nginx proxy manager for /notifications/hub to 3012 and /notifications/hub/negotiate to your container port as shown on the project page.
i ran into a snag when installing bitwarden on Android. when i put in my username and password it says "an error has occured" and doesn't log in. the workaround that i found was to install an older version of bitwarden for android, logging in, and then upgrading to the latest bitwarden android app. This worked for me.
nay clue why my site is not reacahble from the outside? when the nginx is empty i see the welcome screen, when i enter a domain i see "site not reachable" and i have no clue why. any ideas how to troubleshoot this?
I am sorry but I guess is missing all the configuration of Vaultwarden? Many of the things you showed in the video are missing, I don't know if is due to the settings...

This is very confusing I installed the same latest version of Vaultwarden from the same repo and I do not have the settings tab and at the bottom it says Vaultwarden (unofficial Bitwarden® server) - I am confused, why is yours different?
I am in the same boat. Location for settings and the way its structured is different. Ie. Settings (now changed to account settings) is located under the user icon up the top right. Some setting missing as well, such as organization. Mine also shows "unofficial bitwarden server" at the bottom of the screen. It seems to work fine though other than the missing options. anyone else experiencing the same thing? Is this normal?

Will not having it SSLed mess with connecting via the browser extension or mobile app when setting the self-hosted address? Trying to keep access to something like this as locked down as possible (only internal IPs when at home, VPN via mobile when out)
Hey Ibracorp, Love all the content and seem to be hung up once you get to the cloudflare config (13min mark) I am having trouble understanding if we need to purchase an actual domain first to do all this or if it can be done on the free side using soley duckdns? TY
We always advise people to buy a domain if you can, they are very cheap and it gives you much more control. That being said you should be able to do it with Duck DNS
Just followed install guide... everything looks good til creation of Admin account... red error box with wall of text shows up when I click the submit button. (container is set to TRUE for new account creation)... anyone else get an error when making Admin account?

@@IBRACORP I forwarded 80 to 1880 (where NGINX is) and 443 to 4443 (where NGINX also is at) but it still refers me to the webgui. I don't know what exactly is going wrong
There is a way to set up the web socket for auto-syncing (it is instant once set up!). Head over to our discord community and ask in there, someone should be able to help you with that.
I'm having an issue I can't seem to figure out. I got the docker setup and running, browser extensions work well. But the windows application gives me an "Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0" when I try to login and the iOS app quits as soon as I press login. Any help appreciated
Great tutorial. I followed your instructions to the letter, but when trying to logon I get a 521 error. I'm using Nginx Proxy Manager and Unraid. Nextcloud works great (followed instructions for that) but can't get Bitwarden (Vaultwarden) to work. Trying to get access to your Discord group but can't check the box to indicate I've read the rules. Can you possibly provide any thoughts here?

I really wish this would work without publicly opening it to the world and without a domain. Everything I find online is people wanting to dick around with dns settings to simulate a fake domain...

Unraid uses port 80. So you will need to have NGINX on a different port. E.g. 8080

The Dark theme I showed was through the self hosted bitwarden so not sure if it's different to the cloud option
Everything is working perfect except for auto sync. Please tell me this all doesn’t require a manual sync every time.

Could you try a different browser? There shouldn’t be any issues joining the discord server. Let us know if you still can’t get in.
The bitwarden extension doesn't have the settings option to select your self hosted server anymore...
I just ran across this as well, but noticed if you click on region, the self host option is in there..

@@IBRACORP I figured it out. I didn't configure the Cloudflare properly. I used the gateway address and not the ip4 address
better use in conjunction with tailscale or wireguard if possible instead of exposing the whole container to the web, nice video though.
