The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is the newly launched and much awaited motorcycle in the 200 cc class, it first debuted in Februry this year and was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
There are 3 versions:
Base variant with carburetor engine and TVS tyres.
Carburator engine with Pirelli tyres,
Fi engine and Pirelli tyres.
There is talk of optional ABS as well. (Not sure at this moment)
Partial transcript: The TVS Apache was launched in the year of 2007 and my God, we have evolved so far from then. the design is completely changed it’s a complete Street Fighter look. I love the angular lines and the matte black paint is doing all the more justice to it.
I'd seen the red version in auto expo and honestly I think the matte red
looked a little bit hotter but this is that stealth black look, that all black murdered out version. First things first, when I got onto the bike very comfortable on the ergonomics, very wide seats for both the rider
and the pillion and the footpegs, well it looks sporty but the foot pegs are like a normal commuter bike so it doesn't really feel that aggressive
while you're on the bike though it looks pretty aggressive. The console willreally take all of your attention so please concentrate on the road
it's a nice console lots of features there i'll go through all of that in
detail but i really like the white background on it.
if you're taking a look at the motorcycle it's like the tyres are
coming up with TVS tyres so if you're if you're wondering what is the grip level on TVS tyres because a lot of people are kind of worried.
I really did not feel any problems with it. It's almost as same as the performing as the MRF ones. Now these are absolutely spankingly
brand new tyres so it might change a little bit as a the life progresses...
Now, moving on to the performance. If you're thinking that what is the main difference like coming from a 150cc motorcycle or a 125cc motorcycle from where you would be upgrading to this. I'd say there's a significant
more amount of power when you're riding something like this.
So it's 20.7 bhp of power, right? but it feels really a lot more than that because the sprocketing is kind of designed in a way that gives you a lot of power right from the word go.
So, if you're thinking that you'd be doing a lot of 0 to 60 (KM) in city traffic there this bike will shine. The top end? not so much. I really like the gear ratios as well. They're very well spaced out and if you
are talking about the torque; about 18 Nm of torque on this motorcycle and because of the lighter weight it's about a 148kg, wet, so with the lighter weight I think it really comes out very nicely.
