One thing I can say as Apache user. This bike is just the extension of the rider spine.it changes direction like a chasing cheetah...you can use the full 20 horses around the corners or straight line......gear shift is precise first , second gears are extremely short....... refinement is way better than ns200..... exhaust sounds more masculine.........I don't understand why none of the points are discussed here........

The way this was shot and the soundtracks used are probably one of the better one's available to watch. So many years later, I still browsed for this one and watched it again.

On July 8 2016 I was planning from 2 months either of R15, FZ, Fazer V 2.0, Honda Hornet,Suzuki Gixer SF, Pulsar 200 and was going to book r15 price on road 1.3 lakh.
    That night I saw Apache 200 V.
On 9th July, I booked Apache 200, Mat Red. Waiting 60 days. Onroad 1.05 lakhs
What a superb creation from TVS.
It looks more powerful than on paper details.

Your reviews are different than others and the most amazing ones. One thing which almost all forget to consider is the talk about practicality, maintenance of the machine. I own a RTR 160 refresh for 8 years now, gnhad 2 accidents (1 major(my fault), 1 minor at the time of learning)>
I have never had and major issues with servicing or engine maintenance whereas many of my friends bought bajaj's pulsars from 150 to 220F models, all suffered a lot of maintenance issues and presently if you find a pulsar 3-4 years old, (even those maintaining it properly), their engine feel like a piece of crap, unwanted noises, engine problems and alot.
Even i have those vibration problem of RTR but its only at 6000rpm or near, its still liveable.
also, i regularly take TVS services in a span of 5-6 months from the TVS garage itself, and the service costs have never gone above 500rs.
Considering such points will definitely help the buyers even more.

Congo for your 52k man :)
.... bajaj has definitely improved a lot with the ns and rs 200, but still see, as per your experience, frequent chain tightening and high service cost, tvs has gained a lot of respect, I'm sure that you'll agree to that.

Owned the NS for a 3years, had to sell it since I had to move to a different city.
Bought a 2nd hand RTR 180 against my liking cause of the strong inclination towards the pulsars.
Ask me today, if I would prefer driving around in 200NS or the RTR180, I'd choose the apache any day.
Bike is really superb on the initial pick up, exhaust sound, grunty engine and flicking though traffic is so easy. You might be disappointed with the top speeds on the highway, but man, the bike is so easy to drive around, it seems like a toy.
My opinion on people looking to buy a new powered commuter bike around 1lakh, test drive both these bikes and push them to the limits, you'll know why am leaning towards the RTR.
Don't even think about the hornets or the gixxers, both of them are so underpowered that you'll get bored of them in a couple of years.

Bro, I have taken my NS to 140 mark on Taj expressway and please note that we were 2 guys, total approx weight on the bike was around 135-140 kgs.But I agree with Sohail, there are many factors, I would like to add another factor called drag, when I was riding, in order to minimize our cross sectional area facing the wind I was trying to lean forward and I asked my brother to do the same, that surely helped! :)

Apache RTR 200 offers more functions as compared to the Pulsar 200NS but NS produce more Power i.e, 23.5ps than the Apache 200 i.e, 20ps & 21.5(FI Variant). I have NS200 with MRF Zappers tyres. Its performance is tremendously awesome, pulsar 200ns is much more powerful the Apache RTR200

If Apache had 23 bhp with the way it made this machine it will be like a Chita and Tortoise race. Despite of producing 3BHP less power, apache is equal to NS for a 0-60 and very close for a 0-100. In face apache is far far better in engine refinement and its TVS own engine unlike the KTM engine on NS. Apache handling is simply outstanding. NS is not even close in corner handling. Request you ride it once and then add feedback. Also it has lot many features and cheaper than NS despite of providing much better build and finish :)

NS 200 now comes with Fuel Injection and A.B.S., and you can put whatever tyres you want on the NS, plus heavier fork oil in the front to make it more stiffer. But, the RTR 200 still doesn't have 6th gear, Liquid cooling, or a bigger disc. RTR LOSES TO NS NOW.

#PD you guys always press on saying pulsars are faster than rtr 200. Yes it is. Do you guys know why? I'm sure you guys know but still wanna say this. The engine on the pulsar is just like Ktm or may be Ktm's engine itself. Why should bajaj copy the technology from Ktm to make their machines faster ? copy cats! I guess you guys know the answer. Tvs is not doing that and they take pride in what the Rtr can do with their own concept and specifications. Do remember Rtrs have the capacity to blow all the pulsars like 150 , 180 and 220 which has bajaj's own engine. Why did the Rtrs receive indian bike of the year consecutively? I'm sure you guys know the answer . You professional motorcycle reviewers should know all these before making such negative comments.

Didn't TVS copy BMW g310r? End of argument.u dont have to look at the way how market works ,you should be satisfied with the qualities u need from a bike ,be it perfomance, handling, cornering capablity ,reliablity ,whatever u call it.
