I am using your awesome tutorial as a guide for my ancient treelord, would like to show when done (where) and want to thank you for helping me and others get better with every step of the way
Your videos, are by far, the best miniature related painting tutorials. You explain everything in the best possible way and fully detailed. Your painting skills are astonishing but you probably already know that. Makes one wonder how come GW haven't offered you a job yet.. Thank you so much for your videos man !
The level of details you paint and show in your videos, is insane! I love the outcome of your models and have used a few already for models of my army. Please keep up the good work, as I love watching your videos :)
Thank yo so much. I just started with the Sylvaneth about 4 months ago and just started to paint them. I am not the most artistic so videos like these help alot
Amazing job! I'm might just have to snag this pallet for my own army. However I personally would do a blue glow for all of the spirit spirals/cracks. Makes me think of the movie Brave or I guess a "Celtics magic" look. I don't know how else to describe it
I subbed a long time ago, i swear you were at like 1k or around it. Lovely seeing the skill progression grow, now we get to see you paint! Keep on, the videos are excellent.
Generally speaking I'm more of fan of the olive greens over the forest greens. If you've seen my Ork Brutes tutorial you'll see a similar colour being used for the skin.
Why yes I know I'm 6 years late. And there's probably 0,5% chance of you ever doing this but mannn I would LOVE a video like this on how to paint a cherry blossom scheme with white/greyish wood and pink leaves and accents or something mannnn. Maybe any tips or some advice? Absolutely GORGEOUS paint job!
You could probably do very well by using a combination of light tan and white paints to tackle the bark and then get some really vibrant pinks from Contrast Paints. Volupus Pink would you look great over a Rakarth Flesh > White Scar basecoat
Hey your tutorials have the right amount of information and demonstration make them easy to follow and replicate. I would really love some dark elves tutorials executioners if possible
Great tutorial, thorough and very easy to follow. Just a comment about the camera you are using, I find the paints your using look slightly different in real life. Games Workshop may have changed the paints since the video was published but I don't seem to be getting the same bright green affect as shown in your video. Otherwise its a spot on video and I'll be building my Sylvaneth army using this paint scheme :)
I drilled small holes into the pieces, where the joins would be, and added in a some wire that is roughly the same diameter as my drill bit. I used a small amount of super glue to keep them both in place.
Hello War Gamer. I love the work you do and the paint job is amazing. I am going for a winter theme for my Sylvaneth and I was wondering if you could give some suggestions on colors you might use? For example, I am thinking of making the green vines an icy blue, but am unsure of which Citadel paints to use to really achieve it. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for your time!
really nice man, got new subscriber here now :) Considering buying some Sylvaneth models my self and that look amazing to paint, Really want Alarielle Evergreen. :D
Hope the whole Sylvaneth army will follow. Thank for the tutorial. And special thank for the rhythm of your videos. It's a pleasure to come here and see new videos very often. Just one question. What brushes do you use? They look very sharp
I mostly use some Kolinsky Sable brushes in my videos that come from a UK site called Element Games. If you keep them well cleaned and conditioned they last a very long time.
I also use a wet palette (it's changed my life) and was curious as to whether you mix your lahmian medium/paint on it or a dry palette. I typically don't but I'm always up for learning.
Hello, is it possible for you to maybe to do a tutorial for a kurnoth hunter in a Weirwood theme? Like in Game of Thrones? I ask because I want to paint a sylvaneth army in that theme, but I'm not sure what sort of color I should paint the soft wood areas and the weapons. Think you might be able to do a video tutorial for it?
Hmmm, I would probably keep the inner wood sections on the arms and legs the same. The bark would start of the same but I would apply some darker highlights instead, such as Skavenblight Dinge and Stormvermin Fur. For the green areas I would start off with a Mephiston Red and build up a glaze of Mephiston Red + Fulgrim Pink on the raised areas before finishing of with Fulgrim Pink highlights on the leaves.
Very cool paint job, really like the way this miniature came out. Regarding the sword; if one were using paints other than Citadel, in this case Vallejo, what colors would you recommend as suitable substitutes to get a similar look?
It's tricky to get an exact match but you could use a glaze of Ghost Grey mixed with just a small amount of Foul Green and apply that over a White base coat. It might not be the exact same but it would give your a suitably ethereal look.
what colors would you use if you wanted an autum themed treedude? im thinking mournfang brown as the base, but i got no idea with which colors to highlight
hey man i tryed all the same steps as you but maybe can you do your videos longer like i have notices you painted 1 of the so many places that you din't show and that was quite difficult to see where to paint so can you maybe show your charachter your working on better of if thats possible ? :)
For this miniature just two grades of sand (fine and coarse), PVA glue and a little bit of cork. Then I paint it and stick on some Army Painter grass tufts.
Amazing tutorial as always, my silver tower set looks stunning because of you. I was wondering, what colors would you use in this color scheme to make the Glowing Bits Blue instead of green (Including the Sword). As well as More Wintry-Evergreen Colors for the vines and leaves? I only ask because of the success I've had with the silver tower minis because of your tutorials, and wanting to replicate that with my army.
For glowing blue bits, start with some Caledor Sky, followed by Teclis Blue, before finally using some Baharroth Blue. For an evergreen you will want a darker, less olive, green. So start with Caliban Green, followed by a Warboss Green highlight with a final highlight of the leaf/vine tips of Snarsnik. Hope that helps!
Amazing tutorial.. am now looking forward to doing mine, tho was thinking of doing the glow and leaves purply pink.. has anyone got any good suggestions for which paints to base an highlight with??
Great tutorial, will definitely be using some of these techniques on mine. Odd question...do you happen to know the size of these bad boys vs the Tree/Spite Revenants? Just curious.
+The War Gamer I know that Video, but there are so many cool looking Orc Models and the new Ogres would be really nice to paint too. ;) So much to paint, so few time.
+Nerdification ! Yes one thing that would really help would be more time! I may cover some Ogres in the future but I don't have any immediate plans to cover any more Orruks just yet.
Lahmian Medium, it's an acrylic medium. It's essentially a colourless paint that you can mix your normal paints to create a more transparent colour. It's good for blending colours.
Why dont you do a Seraphon tutorial there are no real ones on RUclips so you would be the first to do one besides the WarhammerTV channel they covered the Skin but nothing else
In my opinion this is one of the finest tutorials that you've ever done. A stunning paint job that you should be really proud of.
I'm just getting into the hobby and painting Sylvaneth and this tutorial, especially the bark, has been so incredible. Thank you!
Welcome to Warhammer!
I am using your awesome tutorial as a guide for my ancient treelord, would like to show when done (where) and want to thank you for helping me and others get better with every step of the way

Your painting skills are astonishing but you probably already know that.
Makes one wonder how come GW haven't offered you a job yet..
Thank you so much for your videos man !
This colour scheme is perfection!
You're like the Bob Ross of miniature painting. I get relaxed watching you, then I take a nap, then I paint miniatures lol
Haha, I like the analogy. Although my trees are not quite as happy or little, more huge and deadly.
The level of details you paint and show in your videos, is insane! I love the outcome of your models and have used a few already for models of my army. Please keep up the good work, as I love watching your videos :)
This is the best painting of kurnoth on whole YT.
loving the tutorials, pulling from 5-6 ones you've done is really helping me paint Durthu
Glad you're enjoying the tutorials :D
Thank yo so much. I just started with the Sylvaneth about 4 months ago and just started to paint them. I am not the most artistic so videos like these help alot
I'm glad to hear that the video was useful :D
Love the time and care you put in these tutorials, awesome to watch
Hi could you please do a tutorial on how to do a Autumn theme. Thanks
I'll keep it in mind :)
Absolutely unreal paint job!!! I'm in awe of your work
What a fantastic looking finished project! I'll be following this to the letter.
Awesome guide, really well done! Got my first box of dryads sitting in front of me now and I'm itching to get started! (Y)
Your tutorials are excellent, thank you for your hard work.
You're welcome, thanks for commenting!
One of my favorite channels for painting tips. This looks so amazing, thanks for sharing!
I'm glad to hear it, thanks for the comment!
Locks really great, very good work.
I really like the color theme :) Now I know how I want to paint my Sylvaneth army :D
Amazing job! I'm might just have to snag this pallet for my own army. However I personally would do a blue glow for all of the spirit spirals/cracks. Makes me think of the movie Brave or I guess a "Celtics magic" look. I don't know how else to describe it
Holy crap!!! Mini looks amazing
Thanks!
thanks for the tutorial! It was great as start for my new warcry sylvaneth warband :)
The spectral sword looks amazing! Please do more GW tutorials.
Lots more planned!
Really love the wood effects. Great video.
Thank you, they're probably my favourite parts of this miniature too.
Awesome. Beautifully done!
great !!! I have used almost same color scheme for my Hunters as well :) Great Job !!!
Thanks!
Really helpful guide, many thanks indeed. Greatpainting and results.
that looks awesome, its how im going to do my army
Amazing love it going to pinch the idea for my sylvaneth. Would love to see a tutorial on how to do a summer themed base to go with them
Thanks for the suggestion :)
your a damn good painter mate! im going to be following your tutorials from now on
+Liam McQuillan Thank you very much!
I subbed a long time ago, i swear you were at like 1k or around it. Lovely seeing the skill progression grow, now we get to see you paint! Keep on, the videos are excellent.
I'm glad that you're still enjoying my videos! Hopefully you will continue to enjoy them as I don't planning on stopping any time soon :D
awesome paint job looks sick
Beautifully done
Thank you!
WAUW WAUW, great one again Sir, two thumbs up
Thank you!
I really like this spring colour scheme. The GW studio army green seemed a little too much to me. Great vid.
Generally speaking I'm more of fan of the olive greens over the forest greens. If you've seen my Ork Brutes tutorial you'll see a similar colour being used for the skin.
I love this. Please more sylvaneth!
A Spite Revenant will quite possibly be appearing in one of my videos shortly.
Awesome. Can't wait.
You deserve at least 10 million more subs 😊 luv ur contnent
Beautifully done :D

I love these videos man! Now I want some of the tree guys lol
They are some really great miniatures
Using this scheme for my Heartoak Wargrove
That’s amazing
Amazing stuff!!!
Absolutely awesome,
Brilliant tutorial. ...thank you.
Awesome painting!!
Thanks!
AMAZING
Great video! I have a question though, what's the thought behind using Nuln oil to darken the wood, rather than Agrax Earthshade? thanks :)
Agrax Earthshade could also be used however it wasn't quite strong enough to darken the colour down as much as I wanted :)
just amazing videos. thank you
You're very welcome!
Hey your tutorials have the right amount of information and demonstration make them easy to follow and replicate. I would really love some dark elves tutorials executioners if possible
Awesome work i have joined to watch you
Fantastic tutorial! 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
Might be a silly question, but the stems you're using to hold the arms and head, what are they and are they glued on?
Thanks in advance!
It looked like some sort of cork
Great job!
Awesome videos. Thanks alot!
Could you show us a winter paint scheme please another great video fella
I seem to have done one of these tutorials a year so maybe this winter we will see a winter scheme haha
Awesome! Thank you so much!
You're welcome :)
Very nice
Enjoyed this
i wish you also can do the winter theme.
Excelente tutorial. muy profesional gracias
Muchas gracias!

Damn that's a lot of colors used.
Sick painting once again! I really love the look of this model. One question, how do you attach the arms and legs to those wine corks?
I drilled small holes into the pieces, where the joins would be, and added in a some wire that is roughly the same diameter as my drill bit. I used a small amount of super glue to keep them both in place.

Considering buying some Sylvaneth models my self and that look amazing to paint, Really want Alarielle Evergreen. :D
Sylvaneth are easily some of my favorite miniatures out of the new releases. Thanks for the sub!
Can you described the materials and colors you used on the base?
more Sylvaneth please!
There may well be some Spite Revenants in the pipe line.
Yes I do keep it separate from my wet palette as I find it can impact the consistency of the glaze if it mixes with too much water.
Dryad Bark is hard to find where I’m at, would Wyldwood Contrast paint work as an alternative to the Dryad Bark/Nuln Oil step?
Hey love your Sylvaneth videos. Was wondering if you plan to do Tree-Revenants or Sisters of the Thorn/Wild Riders?
Hello, is it possible for you to maybe to do a tutorial for a kurnoth hunter in a Weirwood theme? Like in Game of Thrones? I ask because I want to paint a sylvaneth army in that theme, but I'm not sure what sort of color I should paint the soft wood areas and the weapons. Think you might be able to do a video tutorial for it?
Nice idea, I will keep it in mind. In the mean time there will be an Autumn Kurnoth tutorial coming later this week
Please do some Icy Sylvaneth miniatures
Nice tuto, thank you xD
You're welcome!
Fantastic work as always! Will you be covering any of the other Sylvaneth miniatures?
I do have a spite revenant attached to some cork on my desk right now so I would say the chances are high...
What would you use for a cherry blossom tree colour scheme
Hmmm, I would probably keep the inner wood sections on the arms and legs the same. The bark would start of the same but I would apply some darker highlights instead, such as Skavenblight Dinge and Stormvermin Fur. For the green areas I would start off with a Mephiston Red and build up a glaze of Mephiston Red + Fulgrim Pink on the raised areas before finishing of with Fulgrim Pink highlights on the leaves.
Exactly the tutorial I wanted ! Are you reading my mind ? :)
No not at all! But if you could just think about your bank details a little more slowly that would be great..
Does painting the parts separately not making glueing the parts together not work? I was under the impression the glue needed to be plastic to plastic
+The War Gamer Awesome! I'll have to give that a shot and see how it turns out. Thanks for the answer, I appreciate it.
Love it. :D
Thank you :)
what colors would you use if you wanted an autum themed treedude?
im thinking mournfang brown as the base, but i got no idea with which colors to highlight
Mournfang Brown > Doombull Brown > Squig Orange. That should work quite nicely for an autumnal theme :)
sound good, i'll test out once my sylvaneth arrive :D
hey man i tryed all the same steps as you but maybe can you do your videos longer like i have notices you painted 1 of the so many places that you din't show and that was quite difficult to see where to paint so can you maybe show your charachter your working on better of if thats possible ? :)
love it! is there the autumn version? :D
Unfortunately not, I may get around to painting one at some point in the future though!
thanks for your swift reply :)
What do you use for the basing materials?
For this miniature just two grades of sand (fine and coarse), PVA glue and a little bit of cork. Then I paint it and stick on some Army Painter grass tufts.
Amazing tutorial as always, my silver tower set looks stunning because of you. I was wondering, what colors would you use in this color scheme to make the Glowing Bits Blue instead of green (Including the Sword). As well as More Wintry-Evergreen Colors for the vines and leaves? For glowing blue bits, start with some Caledor Sky, followed by Teclis Blue, before finally using some Baharroth Blue. For an evergreen you will want a darker, less olive, green. So start with Caliban Green, followed by a Warboss Green highlight with a final highlight of the leaf/vine tips of Snarsnik. Hope that helps!
+The War Gamer appreciate it! sounds like it will look great.
Amazing tutorial.. am now looking forward to doing mine, tho was thinking of doing the glow and leaves purply pink.. has anyone got any good suggestions for which paints to base an highlight with??
Naggaroth Night Base, Genestealer purple Layer, Druchii Violet Wash and finally a Dechala Lilac highlight :D
You are a superstar!!! :D
Thank you soo much for replying..
Am looking forward to you doin more Sylvaneth
Splendid painting !!!
What is the stuff that you use to hold miniature parts with cork wood and how do you apply it?
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/9jrikxFVqOM/видео.html
Thank you very much
Great tutorial, will definitely be using some of these techniques on mine. Odd question...do you happen to know the size of these bad boys vs the Tree/Spite Revenants? Just curious.
+exliontamer They are quite a bit bigger. The Revenants are roughly space marine size with these being about 1.5 times bigger.
Any chance you could give me their height in mm? Thanks!
Love your tutorals.
What kind of brushes do you use? Brand?
/Viktor
I use GW brushes, Army Painter and some generic Kolinksy Sable brushes. Look after your brushes and they should stay good for a long time.
Could u please do some AoS Orcs?
+Nerdification ! Ive already covered the Orruk Brutes if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/6CofhWQAeyc/видео.html
+The War Gamer I know that Video, but there are so many cool looking Orc Models and the new Ogres would be really nice to paint too. ;)
So much to paint, so few time.
+Nerdification ! Yes one thing that would really help would be more time! I may cover some Ogres in the future but I don't have any immediate plans to cover any more Orruks just yet.
+The War Gamer Ok. Thank u for ur answers. Love ur painting tutorials! They help alot with my first Age of Sigmar Army. ;)
+Nerdification ! No problem, thanks for commenting. I'm glad to here you're finding the tutorials useful :)
What base spray paint do you use?
I used a Grey Car Primer from Halfords
1 part lahmian medium 1 part elysian green is roughly 50/50 of each ?
it's the same, yeah.
Yep that's right!
They discontinued deathworld forest
(*EDIT*) I searched for 'deathworld forest' and it only showed the air version, as they are separately named
Nah mang just checked it's still there.
14:28 looking at the script ;)
also what's lemeer medium
Lahmian Medium, it's an acrylic medium. It's essentially a colourless paint that you can mix your normal paints to create a more transparent colour. It's good for blending colours.
also I was wandering how to thin paints and measure how thin they are supposed to be thanks for the info :)
Me and my wife really enjoy your video's - but we couldn't agree on your accent; where are you from mate? :)
I'm from the West Midlands although my accent is quite different from most people in my city :P
👍😀💚
5:38 wait what happened?
why didn't you edit that out?
Papieren Turk some times you miss things
Why dont you do a Seraphon tutorial there are no real ones on RUclips so you would be the first to do one besides the WarhammerTV channel they covered the Skin but nothing else
Haha, that's something that is always suggested. I will need to get around to tackling them at some point!
