Hello again Todd. We are going to visit your restaurant while here in Vientiane. We are in Luang Prabang. Took the the Train from Vientiane today. Like you did in your video a couple of years ago. It was exactly as you described. Nice. Also went to the Red Lotus Lake in Thailand a few days ago. Still watching your videos all these years! Michael and Annie
Much admiration for you and Neenee Todd! I had been watching you a few years ago, but unfortunately I've missed seeing your videos for the last couple of years - too much going on and my dreams of long term travel to Laos with a Lao girlfriend in California USA just doesn't seem feasible, with her having a young daughter in school and her own small business. Still hoping to come visit with or without her. Anyway, I'm so happy that I rediscovered your channel and I've been getting immersed in your very interesting adventures again.
Kiko.. great to hear from you and that you're dreaming of Laos again. Whenever you do visit.. I'll be here mate. Maybe share a beer then. Until then.. you take care of yourself and your loved ones 🙏
@@NowinLao Todd, I seriously appreciate your reply and invitation. Made my day! It will be a thrill when that day comes that I can sit across from you in Vientiane, clink beer mugs, share with you and learn from you.

It reaffirms my faith in humanity when I see posts like this. Even “3rd world” countries with low GDP and low average yearly income, can find a reason to celebrate just being alive. Good food and drink, good weather, family friendly, local people (best behavior). Don’t believe the 💩 the media and elites are feeding us. These people are WAY BELOW any poverty level that exists in the US or EU. God bless them.❤️👏🏻🙏👍

Hi Todd. I don't think you noticed there was more to those two birds having a shag....one was a duck and the other a goose...does that even work? Or was it just a case of some slap n tickle? Great episode mate. Cheers.
My wife's village gets their water from a spring a long way from the village and they have two large cement tanks above the village. The system was built by German Agro. Not sure if they are around anymore. quiet group but got the job done. This year during the floods in the north the piping was washed away. All the relatives, and thank God there are a lot of them, chipped in to buy new piping and they had to fix it themselves. All is well now. This is great every village needs water for home use. The mountains in Lao are a tough place to live but as we see here they are not down they celebrate life everyday. Thanks for what you do. It was nice to meet you at the airport the other day. will contact you when we come back. I have 18" of snow in my yard. Makes it hard to get to our wood. Only heat we have. Snowing now and the prediction is more for the next 10 Days. We never get more than an inch or two and lasts for two maybe. See you later.
Am just back from 10 days in Lao. Fantastic people and country. I am sorry I ran out of time and did not get to come out and have a beer with you. But I will be back to see more.
Very Beautiful people ! The women are so naturally beautiful. I remember in school (middle school) we had a Laotian girl in our class I thought she was the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen She always wore these long elegant dresses long beautiful dark brown/blackish highlighted hair held up in a bun
Lao food is actually super delicious with alot of fresh tasty herbs. Lao food is much much better than its cousin...Thai food in my book. I love the biting hot, sour, and bitter flavors mixed with fresh veggies and herbs, super delicious and super healthy.
3 months in Thailand and 3 weeks Laos. Was glad to leave only because the smoke from the burning crops was disgusting and sore throat and headaches. I had enough. I do want to return but not to have to put up with that stench. If i return I will motorbike for several months but in clear air.
Hi Guys Yes they are dangerous, as they don't take no for an answer when offering you a drink, at least you avoided the Lao Lao. One correction to your info about the Lao postal system. You can send letters or parcels to the the post office of choice with your your name, address and phone number on it. It is called "Post Restante", which you can use in any country around the world you are passing through.
I couldn't imagine just wandering through a village, minding your own business and being mobbed by so many different groups of drunk people. You're lucky you made it out of there alive.
I did both In Laos it was fine, they looked after me very well, if you're not going to drink with them you aren't really going to experience that country, of all countries.
I can't do the bug eating thing, sorry. I was chatting with a Lao woman once in Thailand for some time and then she excused herself for a moment only to return with a bag of locusts fried in soy sauce or something....offered me one...I declined politely ...and a short while later excused myself and went about my evening. Very nice, very sweet but there was no way I was going to kiss her.
They don't know what scammers are in Laos, they have online stuff like everywhere but street scammers are unheard of. Lao people are just friendly and want to meet foreigners. They are dangerous to drink with. But that's all.
@@NowinLao Sorry mate, I know you do and get the same frustrations. It has to be put on record. Even though Thailand is streets ahead, it is really infuriating how badly all people are treated.

Real in laos style
The tree with yellow flowers looks like a Kapok tree.
Not Kapok, the flower of the Kapok is white
Kapok flour is definitely yellow. I have germinated the seeds and and grown the tree. I am still unsure if it is kapok in the video.
@@HITSFROMPATONG I guess there are a number of varieties as we have 5 mature Kapok tress on our farm. The fiber make great pillow and duvet stuffers.
Is all the beer because lack of water?
No.. it tastes good 😉👍
Are they still using your yard as a tip?
Todd who is the older Lao lady with Bev that didn't talk much?
Once you get settled at that property you should open a food cart! Just serve burgers dude!
Where is Barry from originally and is he half-Lao?
