As a big Midnight Club fan, I loved Midnight Club 2's Los Angeles map was the most fun but it wasn't totally accurate because of the hardware limitations of the PS2. Midnight Club Los Angeles however (my favorite Midnight Club game) was insanely accurate for a PS3 and Xbox 360 game. In the behind the scenes the developers went on a trip to LA and various tourist spots and landmarks, took pictures and videos and then made it from the ground up in the game. It was truly amazing what the devs did with the game.
I Remember the first time I played and rented it when I was eight years old I was just driving around. I didn’t even realize I needed to race and do races. I think I was trying to find a house to live in or something like that and my car was damaged. I heard beeping and I thought it was an alarm timer or something.😂😂😂😂
That whole story about Rockstar devs travelling to LA to get details correct is true for many Rockstar games. They did the same for GTA 4 and GTA 5, they even spoke with real LA police, LA gangsters and other figures in LA when designing the map for GTA 5 to try and capture an identical feel to the real thing. Rockstar is definitely the company that tries the hardest to get every detail right.
Midnight Club 2 is such a nostalgic game for me, I loved everything about it especially just cruising listening to the music in one of the beginner cars. Midnight Club LA was also amazing, I used to spend HOURS designing vinyls for my cars. I can remember saving up to buy the south central DLC and loved it, especially just cruising in the Buick Riveria. I'm gutted that Rockstar have abandoned Midnight Club as it was a great series of games but I guess you can do 75% of them in GTA these days

Pretty fun video! though as many have suggested, GTA 5 definitely should've gotten at least a point for the ramping off the US Bank Tower challenge. Not only because of the Cargobob's hook system or the "flying bike" glitch people do, but there's an actual parachute challenge in the game which is exactly that. Called the "Bank Bailout base jump", a Skylift helicopter will fly you and a sports bike to the top of the building so you can ride it out for the jump! it's even required for 100% completion of the game.
the cargobob is not the only way to get a bike on the US BANK TOWER (maze bank in gta) you also have a parachute mission where you get spawned up the tower with a motorbike. you have to jump with the bike, then jump off and open the parachute, so not only is possible, but it's also intended on those extra mission
I love the whole concept of this video. It was really entertaining to watch. I would love to see the same kind of video, but for NYC. Maybe in the future :)

Excellent video. One thing I wanted to pick at was a reminder that driver is a very old game. And for most of the commenters, you (as in who is viewing this) were not even alive when that game came out. When we were kids playing that game, it was everything… An open world where you can explore and get lost in that we knew existed in real life but we could not afford to go there, was just as good as actually going there (we were kids cut us some slack). When that game came out, the graphics and everything that you could do in it felt so real. When Driver 2 came out… what? You can GET OUT / GET IN the car??!?! This might not mean anything to what you could or could not do in comparison, but for its age, I think certain things get a pass.

Horizon: Forbidden West depiction of Los Angeles is wild. Then the name of the city is called Burning Shores out of all things.
Great video bro
can you do nyc, san francisco, and london?
They're on my list.
@ all of them?
Yeah I already own a bunch of games set in those places!
@@mike_wellington_ Yeah I totally agree I should've mentioned this. I hope my love of Driver came across in this video. I wish it could have got more than 1. It was amazing to play when it first came out, being able drive around a 3D space. Even though GTA eventually surpassed it Driver always has a special place in my memory.
@@FoolishPedro it does. It is pure nostalgia. And btw I edited a little bit for clarification. I meant the people viewing were not alive when the game came out. Not YOU specifically lol.
You can jump through the vinewood sign in gta 5
Also in gta 5, you don’t need mods to put a motorcycle on maze bank. The cargobob exists
I would love to see New York or London on this list, a lot of games to pull from on the New York list
They're both on my list.
With GTAV you can do the motorcycle jump by using a Cargobob to pick one and flying it up there. So make that 11 points.
9:30 you could of used a cargobob but it might only work on cars I haven’t tried it
In GTAV you can jump through the "D" In the Vinewood sign
Admit it, youve seen LA and now you want to see Miami too in preperation for GTA6 :)
Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland has very faithful remake of LA
I drove through the Vinewood sign in GTA Online import/export mission
Now do the same with Miami and NYC! But please wait for GTA6 for Miami
GTA Online you can turn up the traffic for Jobs like Races.
As much as I love Driver, I'm both disappointed in how it did, and happy to see it remembered and included
@@Wilex-Rivi I love Driver too, I was obsessed with it when it first came out. I included it in the list to show appreciation for it rather than to make it look bad.
