    I have my phone hearing on January 4 2024. It’s been exhausting and mentally draining throughout this process. Sold my new home right after I came down with cancer, lost my job I loved . Worked all my life. I’m 45 and i have been dealing with SS for 2.5 years. I have an outstanding attorney. I’m so ready to get this past me.

      I did have a pretty good hearing, I was a bit concerned half way through it, when the vocational guy spoke, but after then he followed up by saying under the circumstances that I would miss several times a month of work for treatment I was not employable at this time.
      My lawyer also did an absolute fantastic job with preparing me the day before and morning before the hearing.

      I had a stroke last year and still having lingering symptoms such as random, abnormal neurological brain pulses which can lead to dizziness , and while on long term disability, my job let me go after 16 years because they did not want to accommodate my needs, and now LTD discontinued my benefits and on the brink of losing my home. I'm 52, and applied for SSDI last Nov but still waiting. I been diagnosed with anxiety and depression but I am in therapy with medication but they do not work for me.

    I did all this, it was a 3 way call with a MD who even though I have a major disease and a frozen left shoulder to which I can't lift anything more than a cup to eye level she convinced this judge I can still work. I later looked up this judge who had only a 20% approval rating so either you are missing a hand or legally blind you can apparently still do hard labor

    How long does not take for a phone hearing

  • @Orginal_Sinner
    @Orginal_Sinner 6 месяцев назад +1

    This will be my 2nd social security hearing over the phone. I had my first hearing back in 2021. I had an experimental disc replacement surgery in my neck. I won my disability back in 2021, in 2023 I received a letter saying I was no longer disabled and I could go back to my old job. My job (Ford motor company) medically retired me last year. So it was no job to go back to. I don't know how they came up with me not being disabled anymore with no medical review. I put my appeal in July 2023 and it took all the way until May of 24 to get a proper response. Whomever is battling social security, I wish you the best! It's hard and can be mentally draining. Being hurt really changes your life physically and mentally

      Holding out hope for you. I was the one everyone went to when problems couldn't be solved. Now, after covid? I am confused, disoriented, and forgetful. Add the lung issues where even taking a shower leaves me with an oxygen level in the low 80's, the heart issues, liver issues, and ibs and ulcerative colitis and very high and unmanageable blood pressure. Because of that? Passed out and hit my desk so hard, it went flying across the room along with my laptop and equipment. Woke up 3 hours later feeling I'd been struck by lightning. "Urgent surgery needed", was the proclamation by the third opinion the insurance made me get. Only no one will do it due to the blood pressure. Don't move your head, no stairs, no cleaning, etc. I sleep on the couch, my house looks like sh_t, and I cannot work. Maybe this won't matter to me in a little while, but for everyone else? Something needs to be done here. This is a circus of heads I win, tails you lose.

    I am 41 Years old male. Been suffering from back pain for years. I had back surgery June 23 2021. Did not improve felt even worse. I looked into what could be wrong so I sheculed with a rheumatologist. Hla b27 positive came back diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. She said I had left the condition untreated for so long that the damage is un reversible. So I am on norcos, remicade every 6 weeks. Still fell the same. I am on long term disability thru my ex employer. But I have been denied ssdi. My next step is a hearing. Why do I have to jump thru hoops of fire. I was making 4000 a month. To settle for 1500 a month but I have to settle for that I see myself as liability not an asset what are my chances of gett8ng approved at the hearing thank you

    I just won my phone hearing in August (my case was remanded) and I would like to add tell the judge how you are doing during the hearing if you are in distress as the judge CANNOT see you. I was having a very difficult time and explained how I was holding a stuffed animal (obviously not recommended to take to court but I was at home and it helped me) and it just slipped out. I was in so much distress I actually asked if I could go for a cigarette. The judge said yes and asked to speak with my mom. By the time I came back in, my mom was off the phone and said I won my case. My case is most likely very different than most as it was remanded with overwhelming evidence. I'm just saying the judge can't see you like you were in court.
