Always thought it's more about cooperation and community that's key. My mother and father couldn't work if not for my grandmother coming to live with us and help take care of my brothers and me. I was hearing all this crap about “Fantasia saying women need to fall back and know their place.” I had to come see this interview for myself. People be twisting her words. She never meant it like that. Girl, I agree with her 100%. Women are queens and as queens they are as important if not more, just like Chess. But when you allow your man to be a king. Generational curse. SAY THAT MAMA! The root of every issue in the community stems from the destruction of the family unit. A unit that has a king to be the head and a queen to be the neck. One cannot work without the other. Don't get in your feelings, listen to the knowledge that she is giving to you. This doesn't take away a single accomplishment from you. This doesn't make you less than. You are to be celebrated for holding it down when you had to. But don't miss out on your king when the opportunity presents itself. With the destruction of the black family from the 40s to now, our men were taken from us and we had no head. I think people hear the word submission and think of mistreatment or being second class. That's not what she is saying at all but that is how society has conditioned our ears to hear her.
To be honest it's already too late, black women have evolved to a level they can't go back from. They don't wanna work with black men or even listen to what they have to say until it's already too late
