You'll regret the gloss black eventually! Scratches and marks so easily. Mine has gloss black as standard and I'm going to change it for carbon at some point.
I was trying to decide on the gloss black or the carbon/alcantara but after reading your comment I think I’ll order the carbon for mine (replace the silver). Thanks
And the finger prints! Had piano black trim on my other half’s MINI. Looked great on the configurator, less so three years down the line. I had the M Performance carbon / alcantara trim in my 140i which was nice.
Diff, take my money. Wrap, take my money. Mapping, take my money. Wheels, take my money. Exhaust, take my money. Interior, take my.... ah just do some black bits.
@@hampshirephoto Speaking from experience I had the same reply but having to wipe over with a microfibre every time you touch was a ball ache in the end so reverted back to original in my case silver.
I was just thinking the same... I had a Golf 7.5 GTI before the M140i and it had gloss black centre console trims. It was horrible. When clean, it reallye looked awesome, but after just using the car a bit, fingerprints and dust all over arround... Love the stock trims in the M140i. The only thing I'd swap for would be the m performance carbon and alcantara trims....
The M paddles are a massive upgrade. The stock ones are horrible to look at and use. Will be interesting to see how the gloss black holds up. The piano black trim in my other old MINI was a pain for finger prints and scratches. The M Performance carbon and alcantara trim I had in mine was nice (I liked the open carbon texture).
Hey Luke,I'm right with you on seeking out every inch of power from your car,but can you address something of a concern for me,I've seen a few conversions now from all sorts of tuners, but nobody seems to bother with better brakes,on your car you have ebc pads and disc's,are you saying they are good enough for 500 bhp?the m2 competition doesn't have your bhp but has brakes far more substantial than a pad replacement with same size rotors,so your evaluation is a necessary because I won't trust that set up with that amount of go,could be im just a responsible senior at nearly 60 or tuners don't give a hoot about your safety on the roads.....
Forget the tuners opinion, I’d definitely want bigger brakes with that much power. It just makes perfect sense... I’m 28 so I’d just put it down to the pair of us thinking of the overall package. Plus if it’s a driver’s car then it’s not just about the headline bhp but, I guess that draws more viewers across similar youtubers.
No matter how much we bagg and tell him off for his wrap (IMHO it's pretty horrid) he won't remove it. He already removed the black lines he got put on and he wants it to be 'his own'
Anyone has any ideas where can I get my steering car wrapped exactly like Luke’s? Don’t mind travelling at all! I absolutely adore this Alcantara steering wheel but seems like can’t find any places that do it..
Change before u go ahead man - get it all carbon fibre - gloss black is going to scratch up sooooo badly even if u take the utmost care.. horrific sight if the sunlight hits it!!
Hello, I've been following your channel for a long time, I think it's great what you've done with your car. I also have a Bmw M140i i wanted to ask you where you got the eyebrows for the headlights.
Couldn't disagree more with all these comments about the wrap, I think it looks sweet and original. So bored of everyone wrapping their car nardo grey or something so unoriginal.
Not comparing performance just appearance. You can’t deny kerb appeal is important to you given the cosmetic upgrades we’ve seen? I was a fan of your original Golf R!
Gloss black looks nice in a showroom but it's terrible in real life. Scratches very easy and you will have dust for ever on it. I'd rather have silver trim.
That corny wrap needs to come off - looked good in standard colour
What's the saying, "knows the price of everything and the value of nothing" !!!
Agreed it’s fugly

🤦🏻♂️ had gloss black trim in mine, blinding sun reflections and a magnet for dust and scratches. Big downgrade imo
Snap. I swapped mine for silver style haha. Also the scratches!!

imagine having to get a specialist to change a couple trim pieces
I thought the exact same. Plus the drive down and to give them clout

God that wrap has to go just like when you wrapped your 7.5 R in green it ruined the look of the car
Get some ppf from n those gloss black interior trim, they’ll scratch up easy and will look naff in a short while
Not watched you for a while. Can't believe you still have that awful wrap...
lol
Gloss black surely a fingerprint magnet/nightmare?
Not if you keep it maintained well

@@mad_aboutwatches1143 personal preference really, but gloss black does look better.

Iam sorry but this looks terrible! You should have fitted the M2 OEM carbon interior
