My iPhone 11 Pro never was slow nor did it had bad battery life. Now on iOS 17.0.2 it was really laggy and started to be really hot randomly. I restarted it and so on but it stayed the same. Now I downgraded back to IOS 16.6.1 because it’s still signed by Apple. Everything seems to work again now. No lag whatsoever. So for me the result definitely was different.
ios 17.0.3 is amazing on my iphone 11. made my phone faster, feels a lot more responsive and quick, and the battery life is significantly increased, at the end of every day i have around 20% more battery than i used to have. (the duration of my phone usage is about the same every day)
Glad I upgraded from the Xr to the Se 3. Other than the screen size, which doesn't bother me, everything else was a upgrade. Faster chip, longer support, better battery, lighter weight, better camera. Since I basically got it for free with a trade-in, very happy with it.
Been using my ip12 since 2 years now and battery health is 88 rn but after updating to ios 17 it really has increased in battery health am averaging around 5.5 hours a day of sot I usually take it from charge at 8 in the morning and do intermediate tasks like yt insta etc and I have to plug it in by 11ish every night but so far so great man can’t complain

a simple modification to prevent having anxiety from upgrading to the newest IOS is allowing you to downgrade if you don't like or having good experience with the latest and greatest. It is like going down a oneway street and you can't go back to where you came from
Still on iOS 15 with my 13 pro max. No intention of moving to 16 let alone 17. In my view phone functionality peaked a few years ago. One of the things that contributed was the video you did last year demonstrating the iPhone 13PM's excellent battery life against the 14PM
It's good, but you'll lose the accessibility of certain applications that require later versions. And you'll miss out on security updates and other interesting features. So there's not much point in keeping the iOS 15 version, at least if you're worried that your battery life is going to drop drastically. Sooner or later, you're going to have to update your iOS device, so you might as well do it for iOS 16.7, which is optimized enough overall to keep it around for a long time.

If you didn’t wait for the upgrade background upgrade process to complete, this is not representative. My 15 said “battery life and performance may be degraded until background process are complete” on the Battery page for nearly 24 hours after upgrading.
How does he get a good battery life? My iPhone 13 when I got it new did last like 6:30h of battery life, from 100 to 0, and now I have almost 10 months with it and I have 92% of battery health, it drains so fast with iOS 17
I have a 12 mini on IOS 15.7 and I have not updated just because every single iPhone I have had that I updated in the past would heat up a lot during use after the update, and then burns through its battery
I am glad that I chose 14 over 13 cuz this is the first time I am into iPhone after plenty years into android. Androids are good at battery. So I have the same feeling now using 14.

Iphone 13 was announced by apple having 2.5 hours of extra battery life. Which does look like that on ios 16. But now with ios 17, it looks like iphone 12 and 13 are quite same. As if apple did it deliberately to force people to upgrade from 13(a 2 year old device) to 15 right when 15 launched.
I’ve read on forums that IP13’s seem to drain more on ios17 than ios16 versions. The test was consistent with that when using the phone continuously for certain applications. Very strange that it was mainly only IP13 affected and none of the other IP models. I’m not a tech expert, but my guess is it’s likely due to the chipset and screen functionality of the IP13. Seems like the engine or screen is working harder to run certain applications on ios17 vs ios16. Don’t have an IP13, but if I did, probably wouldn’t upgrade to ios17 due to user feedback and this data.
The 13 series have had great batteries so Apple will try to create some separation with the 14 series either by trying to improve batteries on the 14 series if that's not possible they will reduce the battery of the 13series🙂

@@Mar315. yes i was on 16.5 when i bought it i haven’t updated it but after some time I thought about the features of ios 17 then made the move which was my biggest mistake. The battery life at 16.5 was absolute beast
From this test I see that iPhones 12-14 has horrible purple screens. I think that one app will consume relatively the same power. So you should add some pauses of using phone. Because the difference could be in iddle mode.

I have iphone 12 and my battery health says 86% but still with use it drains kind of fast and even when idle and overnight it will drop around 30-40% in some cases. I have turned all the background stuff off, keep no apps open and disable all the little things (not that things like this should even have the capability to drain a phone that much overnight) Also when I check the battery usage, there's nothing showing thats draining it appwise. Any suggestions?

i don't think its randomness. Iphone 13 battery life actually degraded after update, seeing lot of issue compared to other models.

The IPhone 13 on ios 17 lasted 100 minutes less than on ios 16. That's too much to be chalked up to variables.....

Compare iOS 16.6.1 and iOS 17.0.3 that solve issue battery and resolve the heat problems
you should try considering that it does a lot of indexing and background processes after update so maybe do the updated test after a few days

I have iphone 12 and my battery health says 86% but still with use it drains kind of fast and even when idle and overnight it will drop around 30-40% in some cases. I have turned all the background stuff off, keep no apps open and disable all the little things (not that things like this should even have the capability to drain a phone that much overnight) Also when I check the battery usage, there's nothing showing thats draining it appwise. Any suggestions?

@@nyzplayz1018 nope, unfortunately I havent. Considering just getting a brand new battery replacement next month and hoping that works as I have tried everything else I have found
Tbh for the past few IPhones I've owned, right when the battery health drops below 90%, the battery life becomes much worse. Apple really wants you to spend $89 for a new battery.
