There is no-one quite like Anselm Kiefer. Having achieved fame and notoriety in equal measure in the 1980s, he has become one of the world's most singular and successful artists. Working with themes of history, memory and mythology, Kiefer produces work that is consistently controversial, and monumental in its scale and ambition.
In this imagine...Alan Yentob joins the artist at his studios in France and Germany as he prepares for a retrospective at the Royal Academy. In a series of frank interviews set against the backdrop of his awe-inspiring studios, Kiefer discusses the impact of his most significant pieces, installs a selection of new work, and explains why he is as excited and driven by his practice now, at the age of 69, as he was when he began.

You know this man is a great artist because so much of his works are immovable. They cannot be put in a museum, they are not profitable there is no economic reason to spend 1000s or dollars creating them except because he has to. True art has no choice but to be birthed to the world

Love Kiefers work so much. He is my favorite artist. Full on love how much texture there is in his work, and how he thinks about it and how he does things.
Really look up to the guy

My first exposure to Anslem Kiefer's artwork. Thanks. I liked the recoiling of materials philosophy and application. Wonderful to see his studios, working methods. I also enjoyed his verbalized thoughts in the program's settings.

    Dear Anselm:
I suggest, as a complement to your work, a bit of deep felt joy and shining eyes...in what I consider, as for today, the greatest work of art to have ever been recorded on camera.
Do not worry, the absurdity of existence remains untouched !

Kiefer left his first wife and children in Germany on his move to Barjac in 1992. Since 2008 he has lived in Paris, in a large house in the Marais district, with his second wife, the Austrian photographer Renate Graf, and their two children

Why are we here, who are we, where are we going?
All these questions can only be answered in the Christian worldview. In this life hell and heaven are placed together, in the next life they are separated into hell and heaven.
Most people will miss heaven for they will miss Jesus or the spiritual light of the universe.

Sorry but I can not believe in a god that send his son do die for our sins. I good god would have just forgiven them.Without all the torture and shit. I'm not that perverted. And sorry I don't believe in heaven nor in hell. I reached the age of reason. But if you feel good with it, i wish you all the best. But don't try to tell people what they should think. There are so many ways to live and die. If someone says he is right than thats pure arrogance. There are just things that are right for you and sometimes its good to check what else is out there. Quantumphysics has proven that there are causes without effect. Maybe this means there is no god or there are a lot of acts of creation.( well thats interessting) But sorry this normal religions that have all copied from older religions and now are established to control... well life is to short for this. And if there is a hell, well thats where cool people will be. So everything will be great.

"Sorry but I can not believe in a god that send his son do die for our sins".
Then you are an anti Christ.
" I good god would have just forgiven them."
Then He is not a Righteous Judge.
He is an indifferent unjust, judge.
" I reached the age of reason."
Heaven and hell is not unreasonable.
" But don't try to tell people what they should think."
Are you telling me what I should think?
" There are just things that are right for you and sometimes its good to check what else is out there."
Until you find Jesus, Truth, God.
" Quantumphysics has proven that there are causes without effect. "
      That is untrue.

    • @baalpeej
      @baalpeej 8 лет назад +1

Etienne 777 This is your opinion and I respect it. But I think you're wrong. The Quantumphysics thing is definitly true. Would not make something up to have a point. Are you from the US?
