    "I have no idea what the algorithm wants" Then this video hits 1.2k in the first 12 hours.
    See? I have no clue what the beast craves.
    Edit: Yeah this video wasn't expected to do more than 1k after a week. I don't know why RUclips is promoting this one so hard.

      you said something about a huge drama and not meaning to, and thats what I noticed that the algorithm wants to share, devicive drama and conflict displayed and discussed in a positive manner from creator to viewer as if taking directly with the viewer establishing a conversation with them. remember, people love drama, especially us fur covered people.(furries) its just a fact unfortunately.

    When you mentioned that you covering Sergals would be when you're ready for your Magnum-Opus, I just imagined you making like, a 3 hour long documentary with full on interviews with the creator and some of the most famous furries with sergal fursonas. Like, Discovery Channel-style.

    Also a thing to note about a lot of videos about Sergals, ton of them focus on the character Rain Silves. Which even Mike himself has stated is not a good representation of what or who the sergals are. Their culture their lives or how their wars work. There is just so much that many jump over, a great example is just the cultural differences between Northern and Southern Sergals.
    It is like trying to say all human cultures are from one single person. Meanwhile the world in Velous is large and well thought out. So take your time with it.

    ohh my god lythbound, I used to love playing that game and the community (at least the discord) was such a cozy place to hang out in!!
    I still have most of my original Lyth characters, and I probably will never get rid of them for nostalgia sake (one of them even turned into my personal little mascot!) I remember being absolutely devastated when the site shut down, even if I was thinking about leaving a few weeks before the shutdown, due to burnout.
    Another old Lyth user and I made a ''replacement'' Lythbound server so the people who wanted to reminisce had a place to do so. We also put in a lot of effort to archive all of the site lore/prompts/quests in our little discord. We were promised an archive on the og lyth site but i don't know if the original owner has made that public yet, or if the site actually did go down.
    Our ''nostalgia'' server is essentially dead now, sadly. As there are only really 4 people chatting there, at max. But hey, it's nice there is a little space to reminisce if you want to.

      I can certainly confirm the discord is cozy! Very very quiet unfortunately, but I’m glad it still exists.
      Ngl I did not expect Lythbound to be mentioned in this video, it kind of flew past me HOW big Lyth was… like, there were over a thousand people- but I never really *realized* that, it never actually hit how big the community was.

    I still have some of my original lythbound characters-- a couple Faerilees, a couple Fabremon, an Onini, and an Atenilee. As for all but the Onini, I had them from before the species' integration into Lythbound, when they all used to be a part of their own group! Definitely agree with how there was too much for Lyth to really handle, as that was a decent part of some of the discourse about them-- too much new, not enough development on what was already there.

    the segment about suggesting species is actually super helpful and imma def relay it to my friend. she, myself, and some other people are trying to revive an old species of hers and give it a new coat of paint, and i had recommended her you as a possible way to get the name out there once we actually get a foot under us and officially release the species.
    your checklist for video criteria is hella helpful for us to figure out stuff, never thought of making a carrd, we were just gonna post all necessary info on master-posts in various social medias and leave deep lore to the discord, but a carrd sounds like a saner option dgsdfhd.

      Social Media and Discord routinely wipe old info. In my follow up video of Gem Raptors facebook deleted the group for the species where I got the info the first time. Discord is especially bad about this, image links die after a couple weeks.

      Having read over what you've written so far in the Lacera lore doc, I've got to say, you've gotten off to a fantastic start.
      That's not to say it's been easy. Four plus years of work (even if it is only a part of a larger goal) shouldn't be downplayed.
      You've laid the groundwork and consistently built upon it as the species has advanced. That much is clear and is worth congratulating.
      If you haven't already, I would personally suggest fleshing out the social structures of Veil's. The interactions between members of the same species and subspecies is always an interesting dynamic, learning what forms of leadership are preferential or if community wide collaboration supersedes the need of a leadership structure all together. The implications and struggles that can arises for members of the species living in towns and villages, some that may not conform with their place of hatching and what they believed was standard as a pup.
      Fantastic work overall.

    Hey can you do a video about the Kivouack species made by the RUclipsr Fennah? He has a few hundred thousand subs and makes 3D animations of his species. I was a fan of his almost 5 years ago but i left due to the species becoming more and more sexual and fetishy. He has old lore from his Amiibo community and new lore on his Twitter and Discord. He wrote an over 1000 page book about his work and its a lot to handle. The youtuber Kirkpattiecake did a couple review videos about the book. He and his community are known to be aggressive towards anyone who questions his species lore or his moral views. Keep up the great videos!!!

    • @EagleTimberWolf
      @EagleTimberWolf 3 месяца назад +2

      The sad thing about Fennah's work is it actually has potential if he would learn how the hell to balance the writer's-barely-disguised-fetish trope. Like... You can have weird shit in a story without letting it affect the quality and he hasn't quite grasped that yet. Not to mention he seems to have retconned half the things that made the plot interesting in the first place (i.e. Winifred's trauma, Hyzenthlay being a hybrid, the whole Ancient Aliens-type backstory, etc.) Still plan on buying the book when I can because I'm admittedly interested, but knowing how much the concept changed, it'll likely wind up being just so I can pluck it apart for the AU I'm working on lol

    • @pastel1467
      @pastel1467 3 месяца назад +2

      @@EagleTimberWolf I agree. I think there's an audio book coming out soon but I'm not sure when. I was there in the beginning of the Satellite City fandom and the turn the series took was pretty jarring. It also sucks that it really looks like he is deleting bad reviews of his book too. The only way people can leave constructive criticism is by giving it a 5 star review.

    • @EagleTimberWolf
      @EagleTimberWolf 3 месяца назад +2

      @@pastel1467 Oof not a good sign that he still hasn't learned how to properly handle criticism, I had hope maybe that changed when I noticed he'd kinda/sorta chilled out as far as online squabbling goes. I admittedly got into Satellite City late, discovered it through Deadwing's Fennah stream, went digging into it myself out of morbid curiosity, and developed a love-hate relationship for lack of better word.

    • @SerasThings
      @SerasThings  Месяц назад +1

      Open means that anyone can make one and there is no one enforcing the design rules. Closed means that for some reason the majority of people can't make one. There are a few different kinds of closed like adopt only where you need to buy an adopt for the species, myo where you pay the owner to make your own, and arpg or art rpg where you play a game like neopets in order to earn the rights to make one. Original Species is a term that encompasses both of these terms, so any imaginary creature that is made up with the intent for people to make characters out of them.

    • @SerasThings
      @SerasThings  Месяц назад +1

      If you don't care about participating in the community you can do what you want. Most of the time the owners of the species don't care. In the case of an Art RPG the rules are there to make it a game and more fun. But if you're not playing the game it doesn't matter.

    tldr: I agree with you on not wanting to do something but don't Gaslight your fans
    based off your wording and tone, im guessing you already know and are avoiding the drama of it but the quote is a variant of what blizzard said about wow classic before eating their words by making wow classic. it doesn't necessarily ring true. its best to say you don't want to do that rather than to make yourself look foolish by saying something that then doing it... whereas saying you don't want to do something then doing so, you can because that's your choice, and changing your mind is always allowed and acceptable. but when telling fans (paraphrasing) "ur idea sucks and u don't know it kuz ur dumb kuz u don't know what u want" makes you look like a jerk who does not care about your fans and makes people not want to involve themselves with you which Is the whole point of having an audience.

    • @SerasThings
      @SerasThings  2 месяца назад

      It seriously isn't a matter of me not wanting to make them. There are some lesser covered species I would like to make videos about but there isn't enough info out there for them. As for covering them anyway, I said if I did it would be a different kind of video than they are expecting. Which isn't a lie, in the cccats example I said it would be a comparison to it's clones. I do want to cover them, but a lot of the recommended ones aren't ready or are lacking info.
      Edit: In this case when my videos are about covering everything about them, recommending something with very little info might seem good. I cover a species that isn't talked about much. But a lot of the time the reason the info is hard to find is because it didn't exist in the first place. Which is what I mean by "You don't know what you're asking for". Because if I made these videos on these species with no info the video would suck.

    • @SerasThings
      @SerasThings  2 месяца назад

      I'm not familiar with that wow quote. Never played the game. My quote is from a Brian David Gilbert video, and I mention that I believe. He was talking about how people will want the full footage to something when stuff is edited for a reason. In his original video it would have been 3 hours long and boring, but he edited down making it better. Me saying the similar phrase was meant to be funny not manipulative. I'm not some gaming mega corporation, I'm someone living on food stamps. I really don't have anything to gain from lying.
