Paying in WHAT???? It's giving vibes of this damn ad I keep seeing involving those types of "toys" {bear in mind I don't even look at that stuff} on RUclips. I HATE seeing LoveHoney ads, because they don't even hide in the static ads that's those "toys"..... on a site with minors- Either way these companies are disgusting
"its just a fruit rimmer totally not anything risque!! we also have these 'finger massagers' which totally arent another adult toy!!" were living in a capitalist dystopia B,)
if youre really butthurt over minors watching that (and why are they watching it in first place even), you should blame the parents instead. youtube and other social media isn't for people under 16
@@michiko_nox you cant really change the fact that they're there though. least adults and adult companies could do is have at least a shred of decency and keep it to adult areas. hell, youtube was never really for adults only, so i dont know where youre getting that also, i do agree with parents being given some amount of the blame. still, its not like they can ALWAYS see what the child is seeing, especially if its an advertisement thats given at random.
@@mellow4356 youtube isn't strictly for adults but there's a reason why youtube kids exists. and this comes from someone who has had unrestricted internet access since they were 12. it's not really a thing to be proud of lmao i do agree that these companies should be avoided when they're making these shady deals, but at the end of the day, it's the creators decision whether they'd want to take that sponsorship or not. if the person feels uncomfortable with it, they can just leave any time. i don't know, i also kind of find it weird that people are so freaked out by it. it's just sex toys, nothing more. teenagers also have the right to explore themselves (and that's happening with porn anyway) and it shouldn't be frowned upon.
Im not the biggest fan of BD due to their...practices. But it is pretty messed up that these drop shippers/sponsors are stealing items from not only sizable companys like BD but also lesser known/smaller creators
When it comes to ad reads, I'll watch on two conditions: 1. If the spot is a sub 2 minute read/review. 2. If the spot is entertaining. Think of the old toy commercials from the 80's through the very early 00's. An example of someone who does excellent ad reads that are actually entertaining is Internet Historian. I have rarely heard of anyone hating one of his reads. But obviously, to make something like that, you'd need time to make it. All other ad reads if they are not funny or entertaining get skipped. Unless I'm driving while listening, I'm sort of stuck then.
The weirdest part is I went on their site just now and couldn’t find anything aside from dakis and accessories for said daki?? I was curious to see if they were selling knock offs from any sites other than BD because there’s so many amazing smaller stores that also always get their sculpts stolen and they’re much harder to credit than stuff like body pillow art, often in part because people don’t really think about the fact that a small artist likely sculpted that first. But I can’t see any! Just body pillows! So why use BD products in their ads?!
The sex toys are there they're just buried in the drop down menus. There is a vinyl dildo section, but I didn't look through everything because the store has so many products.
@@SerasThings I see!! I’ll go investigate further 🤔 absolutely scum company all round, plus a 5 minute ad read is ridiculous even if they were paying out in actual money instead of dropshipped products 🥲
Lmaooo imagine getting a watermark on a cheap anime pillow. The name strikes me as odd. It's too generic. When names are too generic they feel like a scam. I'm surprised they aren't using AI images....well as far as I know. I didn't look too deeply.
I would have been more suspicious if there weren't so many other youtubers who took the deal. If they got their items the company was at least delivering.
Didn’t know who you were, watched this video, found out some useful advice, AND you’re generally funny, definitely going to stay around haha. (Also who would offer someone a deal like that to begin with??)
Dunno why the Algorithm decided to pick this video, but I couldn't NOT click on it. Wow, I can't believe how little effort they put into scamming people. My landlord might not accept rent paid in sex toys, but I sure feel like I'm getting screwed, especially with rent going up this month. >.< The only Daki I'd be tempted to buy would be one of the yinglet ones on Bold Kobold, though to be honest, I'm holding out for a Beizel one. (Beizel is bae.) ^_~ Also, cute character! I love the design. I tried looking through your Twitter out of curiosity (mostly if there was lore behind things like the "lights" on the "saucer" part blinking in time with the sheep's, I am a fiend for lore) and saw the one with the "saucer" section opening to reveal a mouth. Fascinating! I'll have to poke around more another night, it's 4 AM, though. ...now I feel kinda lame for just having a character/species who's "Top half bunny, lower half horse". ^_^;; Though, making her a superhero has been a lot of fun. A "Living Construct" made on a magical otherworld called Terra, getting stuck on Earth and living a double life with a human disguise, and the internet going nuts over the mysterious figure they've dubbed "The Superbunny" but think isn't real, that she's just the next Slenderman, so it's okay to make fan art and merch and comic books of her. And in Book 2, she gets to fight her Mysterious Evil Twin, because what's a superhero story without an Evil Twin arc?
There isn't any lore to my character yet. They're really new, this current model was drawn by Crayonfodder who won my redesign contest a couple weeks ago.
@@SerasThings Fair enough! I've taken up writing as a hobby for the last couple years, so my three characters have about 570k words of lore between them at this point. ^.^ I'll probably be doing a deeper dive/follow after I've gotten some sleep, just to see the stuff you've come up with. What bits I saw so far seemed interesting, like that "blank" species that bonds with spirits and inherits traits, that's a really neat idea. ^.^ Best of luck with stuff, hope it continues to be fun for you! ^.^
I would like to say, if sponsorships lasted only like 5-10 seconds less people would skip them, more people would be willing to try them, and it would just be a good user experience for all parties involved.
So, if anyone watched far enough in the video to know about the company and *still* somehow wants to consider buying from them, I've actually got experience ordering from them (prior to finding out that they're art thieves). I had the misfortune of ordering a pillow and case from them, and will gladly tell you about it. On their website, if you decide to try to order a pillowcase, you'll be overwhelmed with a sea of options. I can only speak to the "quality" of one of them, since the company most certainly did not earn a repeat customer, but the abundance of options is suggestive of them not really caring about the quality of any of them. If you've bought a pillowcase for a body pillow before, you'll probably be aware of the difference between the two "standard" types of pillowcase, but if you're not, the two "standard" options are called "peachskin" (a thicker fabric with very little stretch to it that holds up well while also retaining images) and "two-way tricot" (a thinner, stretchier fabric that is far more comfortable than peachskin while also being less durable). ADP also offers "natural velvet" (I'm assuming it's going to be a fluffier fabric, no idea for certain) and "traditional Japanese textile" (no idea what this is, but their site describes it as having a "sandy surface", so I'd steer completely clear of this one). Since I knew a bit about fabrics, I ordered mine in two-way tricot. Normally, it's a smooth, breathable fabric that allows for comfortably cuddling up to the pillow, but this site's fabric producer must be pulling double duty as a sandpaper manufacturer, because this is the scratchiest, least breathable pillowcase I've ever owned. I've got three other pillows laid out on my bed right now. If you blindfolded me, put that one on there with the others, and told me to find the one that's made by ADP, it'd take less than a second, and that's by touch alone. The other sticking point is the pillow proper, which they do acknowledge as being a separate purchase from the case. They go to great lengths to try to upsell you on their "premium" pillow, and being the sap that I was, I bought in. I figured that if I was going to do this, I was going to get the full experience. Having ordered from another site since then (one that has done partnerships with a couple of bigger-name vtubers before), I have nothing but complaints about ADP's "Deluxe Grand Siberian" pillow. It's light as a feather (compared to the other site's cheapest model, which weighs in at 3.7 kilograms), and it's got so much give that you'd be better off cuddled up with a fitted sheet. The filling for ADP's pillow also conducts heat remarkably well, to the point where if you're trying to sleep cuddled up to it, you'll get uncomfortably warm anywhere you're in contact with it. "But there has to be a big price difference between the two! That's why the quality is so much worse! You get what you pay for, after all!" No, no, no, my friend... I mean, there is a price difference, but not in the way you'd expect. ADP charges $99 for a 160x50cm 2WT cover, and the fabric quality is garbo. The better site charges $75 for the same size (it's the only size and fabric they offer), and the difference in quality is what inspired me to write this. The low-end pillow from ADP at 160x50cm is $119. That's the low-end option, and I had complaints about their high-end one, so I can't imagine how cheap that one would feel. The low-end option for the better site is $100, and weighs in at the previously stated 3.7kg. You can go another size up and get a 4.2kg option for only $115. Heck, you can even go for their most expensive option and get a 6.5kg pillow for $145, which is $74 CHEAPER than getting the same size pillow in ADP's "Deluxe Grand Siberian". The only issue is that you'll still be paying for shipping from the better site... And, even with that extra $55 slapped on for shipping, your total would still only be $275 for the most expensive options available. If you went with ADP, you'd be spending $339 if you went with the "higher-end" products. Oh, right, I suppose since I mentioned shipping, I should go into detail about shipping, especially since they assuredly won't. If you're in the US, you can expect several months wait time for shipping from ADP (even for products they allegedly have "in-stock"), and you can expect them to use a shipping partner you'll literally never have heard of. This is because their warehouse is somewhere in China (and this is pure speculation on my part, but I suspect their entire company is based out of China, and in my opinion, they probably did this in order to skirt around IP laws). So, tl;dr: ADP is overpriced, garbage-quality materials with stolen designs printed on them. Avoid at all costs.
I got sponsorblock a few years back and have never looked back once. The amount of sponsor segments has just grown out of control. So on my tablet or TV I'll just skip forward at least 1 minute, not really caring if I miss out on anything. I got premium so in theory whoever I watch should get something out of it while I get an ad-free experience on whatever platform I use. (And yeah, there is some overlap between furries and the anime community, but probably not as much as some think. I certainly have no interest in most anime, only watching something if there is a big focus on anthros or whatever - So Beastars, BNA, Wolf's rain etc. and I know a good part of the anime community hate our guts 😂)
My best guess is they had a stereotype of what furries were like and tried to seem relatable and that's why they used the tildes. They saw furries using them online and thought that was just a normal thing we did. I also wouldn't be surprised if the RUclipsrs they mentioned didn't actually accept a sponsorship from them since they didn't link to videos. They probably just assumed you weren't going to comb through all the videos on the channel looking for the one that was sponsored.
I think it's possible that the entire site is a scam and that if you try to buy something, you'll never get it. They probably take art from Google Image searches and then photoshop it onto template images to make it look legit. That's why it still had the watermark on it. Because the version without the watermark didn't show up in a search.
yeah it's one of those free lunch kind of things. thinking it was a good deal until everyone you shared your free lunch with is coughing up blood... Dx
wait if they send you the funny banana polishers before you even start doing anything, is there anything stopping you from just not returning them? could be a way to make money by reselling them at any price
i've said this once before and i'll say it again, if i had a nickel for every popular youtube sponsor company that turned out to be shady, there'd be enough nickels that youtubers wouldn't need to take sponsorships anymore. i get that's just kind of how businesses are in general and unfortunately it probably isn't ever gonna change unless some drastic shit happens, but it sucks. i try not to blame youtubers just because the majority of the time content creation isn't enough to live on so it's nice to have extra income, but it must suck to try and get sponsors for your videos when it feels like new controversy on a sponsor company comes out every week or so.
Yeah, it's hard to be like "Hellofresh and Factor are the same company and are union busters" when I only make enough money through ad rev to cover my internet bill. If everyone stopped using a product because of the harm it causes then they'd die because every company is guilty of exploitation and harm.
This would depend on the individual. My issue with the company offering me adult toys isn't a problem for just the toy offering, it's the proposed value. The amount in toys they offered me is significantly less than I would ask for a sponsor segment that long. 5 minutes is a third of a video in most cases. My most recent sponsor was $300 usd for 1 minute. Personally, I don't find much value in sex toys and dakimakura. They won't pay my bills. But a new PC would because I could use that to make more and better videos. If I'm someone who regularly upgrades my pc I might find value in getting a new PC for a sponsor. For a barter system like this to work both parties have to agree that both objects have value and are worth the agree upon value. A PC would be worth a lot more than what I sell my sponsor spots for and I use a PC for at least 4 hours every day. So yeah I'd probably take the PC. It won't pay my rent directly but it helps me continue to make videos and money. Dildos and Dakis don't make the money back lost from me taking the lower deal, and I don't find them useful. Also it's just plain weird to email someone if they want a bunch of dildos, even in exchange for a video. A PC would easily be worth 3 times as much as a sponsor spot. I've even been known to take art for ad spots because I can use the art to sell merch.
In defence of such a silly sponsor offer if you were going to buy that sort of stuff already you might as well take said offer, although obviously just getting the money to do it yourself is far better simply because of being able to not spend it on that if you wanted or needed to, heard in some cases sponsors offering 1.5k and like going off some prices I've seen I have no idea what you'd even do with that much, although the dildo set of drawers is a funny ice breaker for when you have nosy friends over or something :p Edit: Also oof on the stealing and such, dropshippers are wackos but obviously their plan works at least some of the time :v
If it were a company well known for it or even something like a tentacle dildo I'd probably accept if I did nonvtuber recordings because itd be a funny prop. But this is a company that doesn't make them themselves they order from elsewhere and put their brand on it. But it's a pretty big assumption to assume someone would want dildos as payment when you know nothing about them.
Sorry you mentioned gg is that gamer fuel like the poweder energy drinks everyone does? I genuinely wanna know why they are bad. If im getting it mixed up sorry.
No, I believe Sera’s talking about the RUclipsr Mista GG at the start and his video recounting his negative experiences with certain unsavory advertisers, then the overlap with their own experiences.
@@SerasThings ☝️ Though I will agree with you on things you presented in this video, and it was absolutely shitty how they pretty much resell things. Anyway, furry volleyball RPG
I only watch sponsor bits if they’re entertaining, because otherwise I don’t have the capacity of perception to sit through a solid minute or two of someone blathering about a product I cannot afford, do not want, and/or is just boring. Time is a valuable thing, and I have ADHD. Also, if a company or subject who either demands payment or offers payment in form of something other than plain money, like gift cards, particular items, etc., that tends to be a COLOSSAL red flag. That, and anyone who has something to do with “body pillows” is definitely a creep, in my experience. The old Filthyfrank video about weeaboos attests to this fact amusingly. While I’m all for pleasing Asmodius with a worshipping at his alter, so to speak, indulgence in self pleasure is a completely different graveyard to such matters. That may just be my CPTSD talking because it seems suspiciously similar a concept to breach of consent, but still, my point stands. The concept of a cushion effigy used for matters of lewd sort is quite displeasing to me. Marvelous video, anyhow. Indubitably, monarch, slay.
14:57 I think that was actually just a language barrier thing rather than misgendering! Might've been a mistranslation or something, or just someone who didn't know English had a neutral gendered term. The whole thing feels very non-native English speaker to me, especially since they specifically wanted a WhatsApp and stuff, and with the use of tildes and emoticons (even though I as a native speaker ALSO use emoticons, I've noticed non-native speakers use them a lot more frequently than English speakers do).
It's nothing major that I was concerned about. I don't have an issue with any pronouns. But to me it's one of those things where they didn't even bother to look at the page of the person they were talking to. It could have been a language barrier thing. But this was also when I was using "She" in my bio still. This happened about a year ago before youtube moved the about section. I think like most offers they just don't look at the person before talking to them. I get a lot of people trying to sponsor me without ever looking at my content.

I'm surprised people aren't more wary of Fum. Everyone thought vaping and e cigs were safe, then they started getting popcorn lung. I would definitely say no to a Fum sponsorship because, idk it just seems like a bad idea to back anything every remotely similar to cigarettes. Even ignoring how scummy this is, why would you try to have a RUclipsr shill your product when you’re an adult toy company? Considering how RUclips tends to be veru against talking about that kind of stuff, meaning the ad you paid for would get removed.😅
Paying in WHAT????
It's giving vibes of this damn ad I keep seeing involving those types of "toys" {bear in mind I don't even look at that stuff} on RUclips.
I HATE seeing LoveHoney ads, because they don't even hide in the static ads that's those "toys"..... on a site with minors-
Either way these companies are disgusting
"its just a fruit rimmer totally not anything risque!! we also have these 'finger massagers' which totally arent another adult toy!!"
were living in a capitalist dystopia B,)
if youre really butthurt over minors watching that (and why are they watching it in first place even), you should blame the parents instead. youtube and other social media isn't for people under 16
@@michiko_nox you cant really change the fact that they're there though. least adults and adult companies could do is have at least a shred of decency and keep it to adult areas. hell, youtube was never really for adults only, so i dont know where youre getting that
also, i do agree with parents being given some amount of the blame. still, its not like they can ALWAYS see what the child is seeing, especially if its an advertisement thats given at random.
@@mellow4356 youtube isn't strictly for adults but there's a reason why youtube kids exists. and this comes from someone who has had unrestricted internet access since they were 12. it's not really a thing to be proud of lmao
i do agree that these companies should be avoided when they're making these shady deals, but at the end of the day, it's the creators decision whether they'd want to take that sponsorship or not. if the person feels uncomfortable with it, they can just leave any time. i don't know, i also kind of find it weird that people are so freaked out by it. it's just sex toys, nothing more. teenagers also have the right to explore themselves (and that's happening with porn anyway) and it shouldn't be frowned upon.
@michiko_nox have you even seen the shit on RUclips kids? It's garbage, and often more inappropriate than most normal RUclips videos.
I do like listening to these longer videos while working on Lore pages
Im not the biggest fan of BD due to their...practices. But it is pretty messed up that these drop shippers/sponsors are stealing items from not only sizable companys like BD but also lesser known/smaller creators
That was my thought too, don't care for bad dragon but if they're willing to steal from them they're probably stealing from indie artists.
They tried some goofy bribery whilst stealing art from others
I thought you ment some big company that wants 30 seconds explanation
BUT A SCUMMY STEALING WEBSITE THAT WANTS 5 MINUTES FOR STOLEN STUFF IS INSANE!
When it comes to ad reads, I'll watch on two conditions:
If they got their items the company was at least delivering.
ok this actually helps a lot, I know nothing abt sponsorships but this maybe will help me pick out scams... Sorry you had to encounter this though
Advertisers need to pay cash for offers, no excuses, they gotta pay up if they want us, i ain't getting paid with "exposure" i want money lol xD
I appreciate the way you abbreviated the name. With how predatory that clip joint is, we might as well call them ADP445 for good measure.
Didn’t know who you were, watched this video, found out some useful advice, AND you’re generally funny, definitely going to stay around haha. (Also who would offer someone a deal like that to begin with??)
Glad to hear you value yourself properly
Dunno why the Algorithm decided to pick this video, but I couldn't NOT click on it. Wow, I can't believe how little effort they put into scamming people. My landlord might not accept rent paid in sex toys, but I sure feel like I'm getting screwed, especially with rent going up this month. >.<
The only Daki I'd be tempted to buy would be one of the yinglet ones on Bold Kobold, though to be honest, I'm holding out for a Beizel one. (Beizel is bae.) ^_~
Also, cute character!
I'll probably be doing a deeper dive/follow after I've gotten some sleep, just to see the stuff you've come up with. What bits I saw so far seemed interesting, like that "blank" species that bonds with spirits and inherits traits, that's a really neat idea. ^.^
Best of luck with stuff, hope it continues to be fun for you! ^.^
I would like to say, if sponsorships lasted only like 5-10 seconds less people would skip them, more people would be willing to try them, and it would just be a good user experience for all parties involved.
09:44 Freudian slip?
I don't really know at this point. The jokes were flowing pretty naturally in this one.
"Did you know anime fans and furries hate eachother?"
Is THAT why I hate myself...makes sense now, thanks!
You get what you pay for, after all!"
No, no, no, my friend...
So, tl;dr:
ADP is overpriced, garbage-quality materials with stolen designs printed on them.
The only sponsorship vids i actually enjoying watching are Calebcity's
yeah it's one of those free lunch kind of things. thinking it was a good deal

They can't technically do anything, but you usually enter a written agreement which is legally binding in many states.
@@SerasThings oh darn, i'll probably have to move states or get a good lawyer in order to do this epic prank
My landlord doesnt accecpt sex toys as payment :c
Not with that attitude, they won’t.
They probably immediately assumed you'd take the offer because you were a furry or something dumb like that.
Ah omg ur character 😻😻 ur art style is so amazing
i've said this once before and i'll say it again, if i had a nickel for every popular youtube sponsor company that turned out to be shady, there'd be enough nickels that youtubers wouldn't need to take sponsorships anymore. i get that's just kind of how businesses are in general and unfortunately it probably isn't ever gonna change unless some drastic shit happens, but it sucks. i try not to blame youtubers just because the majority of the time content creation isn't enough to live on so it's nice to have extra income, but it must suck to try and get sponsors for your videos when it feels like new controversy on a sponsor company comes out every week or so.
Yeah, it's hard to be like "Hellofresh and Factor are the same company and are union busters" when I only make enough money through ad rev to cover my internet bill. If everyone stopped using a product because of the harm it causes then they'd die because every company is guilty of exploitation and harm.
Quick question, would you take a sponsorship from like a computer company if they offer you a new pc or something?
In defence of such a silly sponsor offer if you were going to buy that sort of stuff already you might as well take said offer, although obviously just getting the money to do it yourself is far better simply because of being able to not spend it on that if you wanted or needed to, heard in some cases sponsors offering 1.5k and like going off some prices I've seen I have no idea what you'd even do with that much, although the dildo set of drawers is a funny ice breaker for when you have nosy friends over or something :p
Edit: Also oof on the stealing and such, dropshippers are wackos but obviously their plan works at least some of the time :v

I got too many bills to pay. Body pillows might keep me warm in the winter but they won't cool my house in the summer.
@@SerasThings oh-
I only watch sponsor bits if they’re entertaining, because otherwise I don’t have the capacity of perception to sit through a solid minute or two of someone blathering about a product I cannot afford, do not want, and/or is just boring.

Based on the title,
I would 100% accept it regardless
Okay yeah yeah cool video but hang on is that a TURN BASED SPORTS GAME??
