In 1967, I sang with Pete in a band named "The Mind Garden" in a city named Binghamton, NY. Pete became our lead singer, and I became backup singer. We played several covers; but "Lost" was the original we did on Pete's behalf, to promote his record. Around 1968, The Mind Garden disbanded. Pete went back home in Rochester NY, and I didn't see him again until 1969. Pete is an exceptionally talented person, with a gift for "hearing" great songs. Today, Pete is the person in charge at Magna Carta records and he and I have infrequently stayed in touch. He's a great guy and I am glad that I had the chance to work with him, all those years ago. I guess you can say I'm glad that Pete "Found" me. :-) P.S. Pete is the tambourine player on his own record, "Lost".
@@Soundofsilence-j4d If I hear from Pete, I will tell him thanks on your behalf. I left a phone message for him 3 or 4 weeks ago, but he hasn't replied. I'll try texting and then tell him you said thanks. Did you ever know him personally? If you want me to give him your contact info, send me an email to humanbeinz68@gmail.com. I'll make sure to forward it to him. Thanks for your kind words, Guy. I appreciate it too. 😊 ☺️
Thank you for telling the story, Rick. These are phenomenal pieces of music, and it's great to hear from someone directly involved. Your collective contribution to the music universe will never go unrecognized.
the only things I have never lost are my, dreams, memories, ghosts & pain......US Army veteran 100% disabled PTSD..these chords are those of pain & experience...this music for me, is a Time Machine....
I certainly love this song and do miss the 60's, when people were becoming wise and beginning to question things. Especially when some chose not to follow the status quo. The 60's were a time for being awakened conscientiously.
Robert Louria Right?! There’s quite a bit of this kind of music I’ve been finding in compilations, it’s just “lost” and scattered out there. On top of that these songs are sometimes impossible to find anywhere on the internet
Hmmm, this song sounds kinda familiar to me in few elements. Especially voice. On second thought - this kind of sound is what The Black Angels band was making.
I don't have the lyrics available. If you want, listen to the audio and transcribe them for yourself. If you're not able to do that, then I will try to do it & post them here. I don't have permission from Pete to post the official lyrics. I haven't heard from him in a few months.
@@rickwhitebeinz hello Rick and thanks very much for your answer. I tried to get into touch to Pete via mail but with no result. I would like to have the lyrics very much .Unfortunately I can t get them by listening the song.I WOULD be ' grateful if you could send it via mail. Let me know, if you can , and I Will send you my mail. Thanks very much.
I just want to go on a time machine when music was amazing so jealous now it’s rubbish or covers same with the movie so nothing is genuine I want to cover this song honestly but somehow do like a modern twist but it’s already perfect!
This is pure art... U can feel the pain in the voice of the singer.. I did not live in that Era but I like such psychedelic songs

This is one of my absolute favorite 60s songs. Whomever wrote it, played it, inherited it: thank you.

That's why the world is moving along in harmony

The beginning will get sampled for sure or be the soundtrack of a film

We seldom give credit to tambourine players, the person who plays the tambourine on that song's doing a pretty good job ! :D
Great tamborine! 😊
Yeah great song for cruisin pch in my 65 Mustang. Rog. Pacific sunset records.
Great tune 😃
Another one right up my alley
Moody garage with casantes
VERY VERY WELL..........................................

well ... almost. Bo & Weevils My Time is even better
The flip side is also quite excellent, it is more of a R&B number!

① Think of all the things I've lost
And given to you
Think of all the things I've done
Just to be true
If you want me back again
Just say it to me
I will return, just to be with you
② After all the years have gone
Gone and passed away
I shall return to you
On that sunny day
And if I should return
I'll be good to you
And if I should return
I would be true
