- The church, which has long opposed LGBTQ rights in Jacksonville, is now requiring members to sign an anti-gay pledge to remain in the church.
What a suprise a woman who thinks she is a pastor disagrees with the Bible.

The mission of the church is preach the Gospel, call people to repent of their sins including homosexuality and acceptance of the righteousness offered by Christ.
FBC 👏👏👏♥️it‼️ to the other church pasture should be removed from her position. The Bible does call us to love one another, but it doesn’t call us to accept sin into our lives. As a pastor, she has a very huge responsibility to follow the Bible not to make up her own.

A church has authority/responsibility over it's congregation so they Must stay grounded. And growing up as a Baptist. Baptist Church doctirne is NOT the same as the non denominational church doctrine. The Baptist is a lot more strict, and firm and traditional. At least they used to be when i was a kid. The non denominational goes with the flow and very politically correct so as to not offend anyone. So why are ppl expecting the Baptist church to operate like the non denominational?
So, despite the risks of offending others, being politically incorrect, or being called a bigot. At least you're firm and you know what you believe in. I think people eventually have more respect those who stand firm in their beliefs than the ones bowing down to everyone all over the place.
Im from Minnesota unfortunately and i would love if I could be a part of their congregation and without hesitation i would sign that form to be a member amd wish every church would follow this same belief and also implement the same standards and rules

What we see here are two very different churches. FBC being one which stands on the whole Word of God. The other? Willing to bend, and therefore break, by not being bold enough to preach the unadulterated Word of God.
You do not have to be a member at FBC to be welcomed , on any given day. The Word is promising, loving, caring, kind, BUT JUST AS MUCH, also bold, never-changing, and offensive (to sin). In a day when a LOT of churches just preach the "feel good" message, thank you GOD for your people who preach that we are damned and need The Savior, Jesus. Selah

Being Christian is to be morally accountable to God and if a church isn’t exercising that they need to repent and examine themselves in the faith or they will hear Jesus say “depart from me I never knew you, you worker of lawlessness.”

I am very proud of this church for taking a stand against this as I think ALL churches and different denominations should do. It’s seems that “religions “ have a free for all attitude toward sin …ALL sin and it breaks my heart. I know our father is grieved. The world doesn’t understand real love and doesn’t understand our father is not going to put up with this kind of behavior and disrespect without repercussions. “ Give a man enough rope and he’ll hang himself”…Well it’s happening right before our eyes. I’m so thankful that I came to know Christ when I did and He took me under his wing and taught me real love so I have no problem refraining from such a thing as this. God is good all the time. No matter what we have to go through in this life is nothing compared to eternity. I praise God for that comfort.

I defy anyone to find for me the word "homosexuality" in the Bible. I then ask you to describe to me how Jesus would turn people (yes, gay people ARE God's children) away from Christianity. Thirdly, just as we do not keep all early Israel doctrine and laws today, why pick those that happen to purport hate and isolation that encourages youth to commit suicide? Let's look at the TOTALITY of the Bible through the lens of love and Jesus Christ. Then, all of this just goes away, and we can just see God and live under the two most important commandments -- Love the Lord with all your soul and heart and mind and Love your neighbor as yourself .

So please read your Bible and discover God's will for your life. Sin is sin and should be walked away from. Move forward with God's help.

The entire congregation voted yes to this doctrine so there's no reason to sign anything, since they all agree, except to make the news and a political statement. This church should have tax exemption removed.

It's not really the best look for a church to force its members to sign a statement. Religious beliefs and faith are personal and is solely between a person and God. It's not right when government tries to interfere with that and it's equally unjust when churches themselves attempt to do it.

I FELT ALIVE like no other time .... Joy, Peace, Understanding ALL came to me like never before....like I was "Born Again". As someone who been baptized at a Baptist church seeing these makes me sad. This is just discrimination, people come to church to learn ways of God, love others,and discipline ourselves.

Reminds me of Malachi 2:10-12 (its about a woman who loves a man but church doesn't allow it) which is kinda like this but more extreme as they say you can't marry a non believer. It's like a Christian wants to marry a Muslim might as well put that in effect if they want to limit it to heterosexual for members personal lives.
