  • Thanks so much for watching! I don't know if any of this info is helpful to any of y'all or not, but I thought I'd try something new ^-^ Let me know your thoughts and if you'd like to see any videos about anything comic-related in the future :D
    Here's a summary of my comic if you're interested and all the links and stuff ;)
    Summary: Zoe is a 22-year old artist who’s getting ready to marry the love of her life, Dmitri, when he suddenly vanishes off the face of the earth. Weeks later, Zoe finds herself thrust into a strange new world of her own. Now she has to navigate this surreal Prism World, its alien inhabitants who are all named after colors for some reason, their ridiculous laws regarding art, and find her fiancé and his best friend. Oh, and she's been turned into a kid.

My partner and I have dual custody of our story, so we're making the comic together. But we just have so many questions! Like how do you keep consistency? Figure out having different art styles? How do you script for a comic? Ive studied a lot of screenwriting and novel writing, and whilst i haven't tried comic scripting yet, it feels like such a big task to me. especially when i have to take into consideration panels and pages.
    Id there any advice on scripting for a comic you have? Or a scripting format you use?

    • @cockroachteeth

      I realize you have another video on writing for comics, oops. Sorry this is my first video from you.

    • @prism_world
      @prism_world  2 месяца назад

      @@cockroachteeth heya! It's no problem, I don't talk too much about the actual scripting process because I feel everyone does it differently :D I didn't break up my script into panels/pages/chapters when I wrote it because I do that as I create the comic, whereas some creators are more comfortable deciding that off the bat. Imo, it's too much stress to decide that sort of detail as you write, so I prefer not to think about it until later (there are a few points in the story I did decide would be episode cliffhangers, but that's about it)
      I would just say write what makes sense to you and what makes you comfortable! I basically wrote the dialogue and notes on what the character was doing at that moment, but I didn't spend way too much time describing every little thing in detail. It gives me much more freedom to tweak the story as I go, y'know? ;) Hope that helps somewhat! I hope your writing goes super smoothly :D

    Hello!!! As another person who has 2 webcomics and wirks 100% in traditional I can agree with you!! Making a comic its difficult and ew yes, I preffer thousand times claccic comic/manga pahes instead of that infinite scroll kind, no hate the scroll artist, they are awesone too! Im trying to get more readers... and also, another tip in my case is that, if you arent a person with english as main lamguagr... you should start posting your webcomic in english or both language... in my case I post my stories in Spanish and English but I still need to translate the first couple of chapters... so... english please... heh.... and awesome video! How did you made thar animation?!

One of my friends actually had a CANVAS Webtoon in both english and spanish and it ended up getting picked up as an Official spanish Webtoon (Sweetheart if you're interested) As for the animation, I'm a complete noob and have literally no experience, so it was mostly just me throwing stuff together and my brother editing it for me LOL :D thanks!

      @@prism_world Hey! Thanks you for giving your time to answer me! And yep, being able to speak fluently 2 languages is cool for webcomics... but also is a lot of work to translate and edit everything for yourself cause my previous tramslators taked soo much time for just one chapter, but welp! PLEASE! IF FOR YOU THATS A PRETTY SIMPLE ANIMATION I DONT WANT TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF MASTER PIECE IS A GOOD ANIMATION FOR YOU!! Can you tell me which program use your brother for this? I would like to do something similar for both of my series! I know they arent fully translated yet, but I would like to share them with you at keadt for let you see the artstyle... which is curious cause at the begining is much more simple and rude than now cause I treated them more as a hobby and now, I try it as a work! (Well with my main series is more like roller coaster cause was a serious thing... later a hobby and now a VERY SERIOUS thing! Haha!) Them are "Knight of HOPE" (main series) and "GRUNGE" (second series) you can watch them on Tapas (on webtoons is not full yet!) So... if you read all of this bibble... TGANK YOUU!! • @prism_world
      @prism_world  Год назад +1

      Haha, I get it, I used to get super confused too, but I’ve learned not to overthink it! A chapter (or episode) can be whatever you want it to be. Like, each episode for me is just one uploaded chapter, while some creators break episodes into multiple chapters (episode 1.1, episode 1.2, etc) and some creators further break them into full seasons from there (I do not)
      So it’s 100% up to you to decide how to break up your story, so don’t worry about getting the terms specifically right ☺️ I hope that somewhat answered your question, haha 🙏🏼

    i've heard in a couple of videos that people come in for the art and stay for the story when it comes to webcomics, wonder how true that is

    • @prism_world
      @prism_world  10 месяцев назад +1

      Personally, I feel that's true because the very first thing you see is the art (thumbnail, preview, ads, etc). If I see an art style I like, I'll click on it and then check out the summary, and if that seems interesting enough THEN I'll give it a shot.
      The majority of readers are doing the exact same, so having a good story is key to keeping them around, but having solid art definitely helps reel them in in the first place ^^

    If its on the topic of making/getting assets to use in your story I'd suggest trying Roblox Studio.
    Personally I really like using roblox studio to build settings and assets because its so easy, I know CSP recommends Blender and a lot of other creators do but Blender is just so time consuming and hard to learn.
    Roblox is way easier even if its not as versatile, its a great way to get the outlay for your buildings towns etc.

    What do you think about IP rights and security ? My main fear is if someone steal my comics as I'm going to post it basically for free on webtoon. As far as I know if I make a ch by ch post of my story (ie the story is still developing) I can't apply for an official copyright certificate as it needs the work to be completed before certifying it.

    • @prism_world
      @prism_world  Год назад +2

      Hm, I'm probably not the best person to ask because I'm not an expert on this, but as a general rule, your work is yours, whether you have an 'official copyright' or not (and Webtoon does emphasize this in their TOS). However, that does not prevent people from stealing or attempting to steal your work anyway... Anything you post online or on social media (copyrighted or not) is never 100% safe. Unfortunate, but true! All in all, I wouldn't worry too much about it and put all your mental effort into creating your comic ^-^ There's no point dwelling on the what ifs :D Hope that helps a little ;))
