I like this one, Nathaniel. Ol' skool selection a la "Channel Chops." This reminds me that there are many ways to create a selection, but sometimes the best ways, are the old ways. Keep up the good work.
In theory, yes. Isolate color channel on a duplicated video layer and use a Calculations Effect to combine channels and use Overlay blend mode and then add a Levels Effect and boost the blacks and whites and use a Luma Matte I'd have to make a tutorial and work out all the details, but it'd probably work something like that, haha
I'm not fully certain if anyone else has mentioned this to you at any point, but your videos as of late have been a little yellowish-greenish hue to them. It's not so evident when you show the screen capture of your screen. It's really evident -- and I mean REALLY EVIDENT -- when you're on screen. Your skin especially looks very pale and green. I don't mean to be negative. I just wanted to give you a heads up just in case you weren't aware of the situation. Still loving these tutorials, nonetheless.
My mind is also blown each time I watch your videos. Thanks, Nathaniel!
tutvid is great. Regardless of what he teaches, he knows how to teach.
Thanks for the love, Piper!

Oh yeah, I noticed you did that in a previous video and I didn't know you could do that!
Question: Could you use the same strategy here in After Effects to pull a sharper key?

Awesome. I’ll have to try that myself. Not sure it’s any better than a chroma-key but it’s always fun to experiment!

Every time I go back to my image with the selection on, I can still paint in & outside te the selection.
Someone can help?
