@@mdon2189 Kanu was immature saying that. And as far as this cattle issue, quite apart from any ulterior motive there may be, many nations have occasions to battle arcane laws. Once Nigeria comes to terms with enforcing and establishing the veracity of the law on land in relation to open gracing, open gracing will become a thing of the past. And a single year after open gracing is solved; it will be as if we have never had a problem with open grazing. So forget all that stuff about late or early at one thing or another.

There’s really no need for all these long-winded arguments. It’s getting senseless.
But just two things to be established and done, clearly.
    1. The governors have absolute jurisdiction over land matters in their state according to the Land use Decree. Even Buhari, with all his pretence, knows this abundantly.
    And herefore,
    2. They should proceed, without hesitation, to exercise the above power. Promulgate relevant laws consistent with the Asaba declaration.
And start getting set to prosecute offenders or test the compliance of said law in the court against those who oppose it.
This is simply what is expected in a democracy. Instead of all these arguments, chest-thumbing and sabre-rattling!

Unfortunately state governors lack real power to enforce these laws as they have no police or legal structures under their jurisdiction. This is certainly a clear case of the need for further devolution of policing and legal powers to states.

The situation whereby state governors are clearly and constitutionally titled the chief security officers of their state but without real executive power of law enforcement has been practiced in breach for too long. Someone has to take the gauntlet and reverse the situation. Regrettably, this issue is now suffering from debate paralysis. By now, even the averagely intelligent or discerning mind knows where Buhari stands on this matter. He’s unreservedly, remorselessly, but disgracefully, committed to the total Fulani domination of the country.
Fayose, erstwhile governor of Ekiti state, initiated some creative, if radical, moves around this matter before he left office. He didn’t wait for nor approach the federal government, pleading for intervention. He simply rose to the occasion.
Furthermore, he didn’t stop at making declarations or pronouncements about the marauding Fulani herdsmen and how to handle the ugly atrocities they perpetrated. Rather, he designed a plan and started putting his plans into action immediately.
He convened a meeting of all available hunters in his state, encouraged them to be armed with whatever weapons they possessed - dane guns, charms et al - and let them know that he was prepared to further provide any other ‘undefined’ assistance. You may work out the other ‘undefined’ assistance’ yourself. Then he went into further action.
He started arresting violating criminals, confiscating their cows, and prosecuting them under the laws of the state. What happened thereafter? The heavens didn’t fall!
All herders intent on criminality took flight and potential ones learned to avoid Ekiti.
Sometimes, someone needs to turn things around by taking some creative action. Especially, when it has to do with critical existential issues relating to the welfare and security of lives of the citizens.
Enough of the rampaging and marauding Fulani herdsmen, who have murdered, maimed, raped, humiliated, desecrated etc innocent and unarmed people in their farms and ancestral lands.

There is no electricity, no water, no hospitals, educational systems are decaying, zero roads, economy is dead, inflation is to the roof; and these are what people want and voted for you to improve. But the only issue that bothers this Buhari govt is how to force down the archaic open grassing on people which they don’t want. This justifies all the fulanisation rumour. Ignore this at your own peril

President Buhari finds fault with the 1999 Constitution saying that, not him, but Governors have charge of Police State Security, of Police Devolution of Power. He should, therefore, immediately sign an Executive Order to this effect and proceed to have the Assembly quickly ratify it.

I can’t believe we are breaking our coconut heads discussing grazing lands in all the states because fulanis said so. What about chicken farmers , pig farmers, goat farmers , wood traders , car sellers etc. Please for God’s sake when did cattle rearing become a national commodity business. It can only be an under cover for an insidious agenda. Nigerians please stay awake 👀 like iced fish, you hear?

I don't know why all these people are exasperating themselves trying to flog a dead horse - buhari is set in his ways - he thinks herders have rightful path to - grazing routes, so just let the referendum happen and they can create grazing routes in their farmlands in Niger where buhari will finally be able to join his other family members peacefully without subjecting the nations to unnecessary bloodshed.
