    Thanks for the informative review Kerry. Something I noticed on their website is that they have a bright green option that might be nice for visibility, sometimes my black GMRS blends in with the floor of my Jeep or the junk in my garage when I am looking for it, that green would sure stand out! They also have Crystal (see through) option that seems like it would get dirty quickly.

    I just ordered it. I needed a spare to use outside the jeep. Great price especially with the discount code. Thanks

    using mine since June 2023 now on ver 3 . batteries are 2500 mah only issue ever had is 2 batteries went bad they replaced within a week love the radio my ft60r sits on my desk now. my output ranges 9.5 to 10.5 the extra 5 makes a big difference on repeater hitting when in ems activation downtown Indy with all the buildings

      They haven’t advertised a version 3. Do you mean a version 2, and there is a software upgrade? How do you download a software update without a computer or laptop? I only have my iPhone and iPad.

    I enjoyed the review. Ive been thinking about getting this TD H8 v2 for a while now. Sounds like this will be my next radio. One question, does it tx on channel 15 GMRS. I have a Baofeng UV-9G i got for Christmas tgat does not tx on that channel. Still need to hook it up to chirp to see if its a settings thing or not.

      I am pretty sure it can but I can't confirm it because it is in my Jeep and my Jeep is in the shop right now. I should be getting it back today sometime.

    Just receiived mine today and only got 1 antenna not two. I got ripped off. On the inside of the battery area does your radio say TD-H8 or does it have a v2 (or some other indicator)? You stated 3,000 mAh but I only see 2,500 mAh. What does your actual battery say (not just the specs you are reading from your tablet).

    Me and wife are enjoying hiking and outdoors and thinking about buying a walkie talkie and it lead me to this brand. I have zero idea on grms and hams. I like the fm radio capabilities. This might not be the right gadget for me since we have to get license? Securing both license is hard? Would you recommend me a good product instead or it will be worth securing license for the grms and ham?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  Месяц назад

      Only one of you needs a license and there is no test for it. Its just $35 for 10 years. One license is good for the immediate family. I really like this radio and the Ailunce HA1G.

      They “can” but the longer one will not be as effective with GMRS, it even has the frequency range right on it.

      @@TrailTraveler I received mine today and I'm OK with programing from the keypad. I have owned many HT's over the past 50 years and this is a very good radio for the money. Not an FT 70 but good for the money.

    Why do you need a license to use this? Plus, how is it even confirmed that the user has said license?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  Месяц назад

      Why: because the government says so. There really isn’t any enforcement unless you are doing some pretty illegal things and then the fcc will track the location of your signal.
