    In this video I review the Tanfoglio Stock III 9mm. I refer to the CZ Shadow SP-01 and Shadow 2 pointing out the differences between these guns and the Stock III. I have own both the Stock III and Shadow SP-01 for 6 years so I am very familiar with both these guns and have shoot several thousands rounds through each gun in practice and competition. At the time of the making of this video, I only had the Shadow 2 for approximately 2 weeks. I did an impromptu Range Review on the Shadow 2 which can be viewed through this link - • CZ Shadow 2 Review - I... .

    I saw right at the end of the video that your Stock III hammer is hitting the beaver tail. I recently bought an Elite Match and it does the same thing. I put in a Wolff 13lb hammer spring right off and was afraid that may have been the reason. Apparently it is just a Tanfo thing. I don't compete in sanctioned events so I don't know the legality for upgrades, but in my Elite Match, a 13lb Wolff hammer spring, 18lb Henning trigger bar plunger spring, Henning reduced power sear and trigger return springs, and a full internal polish netted a 2lb 8oz average SA pull and 6lb 10oz DA. For less than $60 I had a trigger almost as good as what I end up with in my CZ's after $300+ in upgrade parts. If nothing else, chuck up your trigger bar plunger in a Dremel with the head and spring removed and spin it against a wrap of 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper soaked with WD- 40. Also roll up a small strip and chuck the paper in the Dremel and hit the inside bore of the plunger head. Huge affect in your action. Any stacking will be gone. I'm a recreational plinker/tuner and love long range pistol shooting and good CZ and similar handguns. Swing by my channel and enjoy the great outdoors that are my range. Thanks for review and comparisons.

    I got a Stock III a while back. I put a Henning trigger in it and converted it to SAO. I don't shoot competition, I just really like the gun! The stock magazines in my gun hold 18 or 19 rounds. I added a spring kit and the extreme base pads to the mags and they hold 23 now! I added the Henning spring kit and guide rod to make this gun a real pleasure to shoot. Some polishing internally and the trigger is super smooth. The stock trigger was a bit sloppy side to side and needs a shim to take up the slack. You can go to a hobby shop that sells RC car parts to find one the right size. The Henning trigger doesn't have this issue.Thanks for the review and comparison with the CZs.

      Steve Roach Thanks for your detailed comments. Glad you liked my review video. The information that you have provided will likely come in very handy to shooters who want to upgrade their Stock III for their personal pleasure / requirements like yourself. As I do compete with my Stock III, I can't do a "true" trigger job or swap out factory parts for aftermarket parts....rules.... But if I decided that my Stock III will no longer be one of my IPSC competition guns, I won't hesitate to install a Henning trigger as I have one in my Limited Custom. It's a very nice trigger! Shimming of the trigger and other minor improvements are allowed within limits of the rules. I'm lucky that my trigger is nice and "tight" but I know others who have the Stock III and that's not the case so shimming is an interesting fix. Once again, thanks very much for taking the time to write these comments. Regards, John

      İn my opinion cz 75 Shadow 2 can beat Tanfoglio stock lll , And cz 75 Shadow 2 orange can beat stock 3 extreme also , ok stock lll can be better than SP-01 Shadow in standart package but not Shadow 2 , And also you should look All steel swiss made phoenix Red back which is improved Sphinx 3000 ; these kriss Usa Sphinxs are not original they are Usa made , also dont buy Usa made Sig P 210 And Sig sauers such as P 226 elite stainless the best Sig sauers are german made Sig Sauer P series And Master Shop Sig sauers ; americans should stop producing european pistols their knowledge is 1911s And single action revolvers , when americans start producing european brands’ hand guns l will stay away because their platform is AR rifles 1911s And Rem 700s Style bolt actions

    Based on your recommendation i bought the Stock 3 and love the balance and the way it points, but i had a feeling about the Shadow 2 and bought that too. Both are still stock. I have 1000 rounds through the S3 and 400 rounds through the S2. The S3 trigger is at 3lbs 8oz and the S2 is 2lbs 11oz. The S3 get the Xtreme hammer, fiber front sight, EG grips and i will mirror polish the trigger bar. The S2 will get CZ custom shop hammer and LOC Thin Bogies grips. I think they will be equal at that point. With timer, I'm marginally faster with the S3, the fiber front sight will drastically improve recovery time. At some point I will upgrade to adjustable triggers and maybe one will be flat or SAO. Thanks for these product videos, no one else compares the S3 vs S2. The title should reflect the two are being compared.

      Great to hear that my review of the Tanfoglio Stock III along with comparing it to the Shadow 2 was useful to you. I still prefer my Stock III but don't regret buying the Shadow 2 as well. Good to see that you did the same. haha You have it correct to mirror polish the trigger bar of the Stock III. That will make a difference to the trigger pull. It will definitely lighten the trigger and hopefully make it even smoother.
      Thanks again for you positive comment. Enjoy both guns. Oh, something that I have found out is that the newer Shadow 2s are coming with much lighter triggers now. You mentioned that you SA is 2lbs 11oz. Well, a friend and subscriber in Seattle informed me that his Shadow 2's trigger pull SA and DA are much lighter than my Shadow 2's. In fact, he was kind enough to send me three main springs / hammer springs for my Shadow 2 as I was have a very hard time finding any in Canada and getting for the US was also difficult. He sent me a 10lbs, 11lbs and 12lbs Main / hammer spring. I have the 10lbs in my Shadow 2 giving me a SA under 3 lbs (similar to yours) and a DA of just under 6 lbs if I recall correctly. Cheers.

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked the reviews despite the poor audio.
      I'm disappointed about the audio. I bought a good quality mic and it appears not to want to work well with my Ion cameras. So, I will revert back to using my trusty Contour Roam camera. The video quality will only be 720p rather than 1080p but the audio quality should be significantly better. If you connect to a good external bluetooth speaker such as my Bose (which has more bass), the audio is much better...not so tin like sounding. Anyhow, sorry, I'm still working on this issue. Sense my frustration. :-) I really hope the Contour Roam will do the trick.

    hello from Ottawa. Good job explaining the differences. I recently owned a Shadow 2 for a bit and quickly learned it was not for me. Currently switching back to striker fired, while I sort out what platform I will be sticking with. Subscribed!

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад

      What don't you like about the Shadow 2? It one of the best IPSC / USPSA Production Division pistols around. Too heavy for you? Most striker fired pistol are polymer pistols. Much too light for a competition gun. Polymer guns don't help your Recoil control at all. They have to Weight to them to help. Anyhow, I would be very interested in knowing just what you didn't like about the Shadow 2 :-)

    • @avenidagarcia2373
      @avenidagarcia2373 7 лет назад

      No such things as too heavy but more how the gun feels and swings in between transition and how I move. I like the velocity and swing of polymer pistols, however I can shoot both identically well, however, the heavier CZ does a better job at dampening my mistakes :)
      I find the new grip awkward in my hand, the tanf seems fine however (stock 2 extreme I think could be my next gun).
      I also find the CZ2 top and nozzle heavy and this just feels weird during recoil.
      My split times are identical with either the CZ and the Glock (.25) and currently working in bringing this down.
      Recoil management feels identical to me, with proper technique the Glock is actually easier to shoot, in my personal opinion.
      I like the Glock for many reasons, I am not a Glock fanboy FYI but I did try pretty much all pistols in the market and I always come back to it. It just works for me.
      I am going to explore other platforms soon, I am not married to any brands.
      I tell you this and I challenge you if you wish, try an Grand Power X-Calibur and then you will realize what a low 9mm recoil gun is.
      And last but not least, it is indian and not the arrow :)

    • @ShootersInc

      Thanks. The biggest difference between the standard Stock III and the Shadow 2 is the trigger. The Shadow 2 definitely has the better trigger pull by far....smoother and lighter. The SA is very similar between the two pistols but the DA is much better on the Shadow 2. I also prefer the physical trigger of the Shadow 2 compared to the Stock III. The more I handle the Shadow 2, the more I love it. The Shadow 2 has absolutely closed the gap between the Tanfoglio Stock II and Stock III to include the Xtreme models of these Tanfoglios. CZ has done a beautiful job with the Shadow 2 and I'm a Tanfoglio guy but I have always liked the CZ guns :-)

      I saw you switched the main spring in the Shadow 2 in another video. Is there anything else you are allowed to switch out for a better trigger and still shoot IPSC Production??

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад +1

      Something you have to think about is that when you start reducing the trigger pull there will come a point where you will have to change the firing pin spring for a lighter one so to ensure you don't get light strikes on the primer. I mention this as I will be trying a 11 and 12 lbs main spring and the lighter firing pin spring will be a must have. To answer your question, the only other thing you could change and remain IPSC Production legal is the hammer spring. That's it.

    Thanks for review! This video is perfect as always!
    I did not like a heavy trigger in my Stock 3 so I decided to change hammer spring. After that cheap modification trigger work is a little bit lighter but still it is not a "sporting trigger". I would like to make a next step. From your review I understand that it is good to change a trigger bar (from xtreme series). Could you give me advice: if the replacement of this part will make a trigger work noticeable lighter? I would like to replace elements part after part, not whole xtreme set at once (prices matter to me...).

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад +2

      I plan on changing the hammer spring as well but the main thing that I will do to reduce the trigger pull is polish up the trigger bar. It doesn't cost anything but time to do that. I will use my Dremel tool with different polishing wheels and some polishing compound to polish the trigger bar to a mirror shine on the outside of the trigger bar and underneath the trigger. As well, I will polish the trigger plunger. Too bad that I cannot attach photos to my replies as I would show you what my Limited Custom trigger bar and trigger plunger look like right now....mirror shiny. I think that the polishing work should reduce the trigger pull by a couple of pounds in SA and potentially 3-4 lbs in DA. I am uncertain to really how much the DA will be reduced as my experience is all with single actions. You could replace the trigger as well with a IPSC legal Xtreme model for the Stock III. The Stock III has a firing pin safety but you can get an Xtreme firing pin that does not require the firing pin safety block for the Stock III. It will work perfectly fine. My Tanfoglio Limited Customs have fire pin safety blocks but I run one of my Limited Customs with the Xtreme firing pin that does not require the firing safety block. I have been running that gun like that for 3 years plus now. No issues and it does help reduce the trigger pull ever so slightly....maybe a quarter pound. Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    The trigger both double and single action is lighter on my shadow 1 compared to the shadow 2 with a 13lb spring. maybe over time the spring will lighten up. Yes the Shadow 2 is heavy and nose heavy. I look forward to putting some rounds down range with it. Your trigger measurements on the shadow 2 are stock springs. Put a 13lb in it for sure. I wish the shadow 2 also came with a right side paddle safety you can rest your weak hand thumb on when shooting left handed.

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад

      Absolutely Keith, my Shadow SP-01 with the 15 lbs main spring that I have in it right now definitely has a lighter SA and DA that the Shadow 2. I haven't changed the main spring in the Shadow 2 yet as I don't have a spare 13 lbs or 15 lbs main spring. I have to source one for somewhere in Canada. Someone else has installed a 13 lbs main spring in their Shadow and apparently the SA and DA end up heavier. That's puzzling.... Yes, I think the second safety that comes with the Shadow 2 should have had both sides of the safety with a paddle / platform so that the weak-hand thumb could be placed on top of the safety as well when shooting weak-hand.....totally agree with you, Keith.

    • @keithadvice
      @keithadvice 7 лет назад

      Not sure it is possible to put a lighter main spring in and get a heavier trigger pull. They must be mistaken. Simple physics lol. I have used 13# in 3 of my shadows and they all lightened up. Also true with the IPSC guys with shadow 2's in manitoba

      Thank you very much for you positive comment about my videos. Very much appreciated. I reload my own ammunition so that I can tune my ammunition to each gun. I prefer Vihtavuori N320 for powder as it measures very well, is fast burning and consistent. As well, I prefer 147gr bullets as they require less powder to meet the minimum power factor and as a result you have a softer felt recoil which helps with recoil management. As well, a 147gr bullets has better results at knocking steel over. I also use Hi-Tek Supercoat bullets as they have a higher velocity for the same powder load compared to copper plated bullets. The Hi-Tek Supercoat acts as a lubricant and as there is no metal on metal contract between the bullet and barrel, there is less friction which mean higher velocity and less wear on the barrel. Reloading is best in my opinion. I have not purchased factory ammunition in over 7 years. I really didn't have a preference when I purchased factory ammunition.

      Thanks for subscribing and for the comment. The Stock III is certainly a nice pistol. I said the Shadow 2 with its overall improvements in it's redesign has closed the gap between the itself and the Stock III....more specifically the Stock III Xtreme. My Stock III was the standard model whereas the Stock III Xtreme is a tuned gun from the factory: very smooth and light SA and DA, and all the Xtreme internal and external parts (all competition parts).

      Thanks for the positive feedback on my reviews. I truly appreciate it.
      I have had my Stock III for about 7 years. I have between 7,000 - 10,000 rounds through the gun. I would have to check my log book to give you the exact round count. No parts have broken on my gun. It has been running extremely well. Both the gun and magazines are excellent. I mention the mags as the mags tend to be the weakest link. Crappy mags equals nothing but feeding troubles. I even use my Tanfoglio Stock III mags with my CZ SP-01 and Shadow 2 as they work better than the CZ mags. Just remember that if you buy a standard model Stock III, it comes with an iron front sight not fibre. I actually installed a spare fibre front sight that I had for my Tanfoglio Limited Custom. I don't think you will be disappointed with the Stock III. An IPSC Black Badge student of mine just bought a Stock III on my recommendation. He did try mine first before making his decision to buy. He loves the Stock III. He was shooting an M&P 9mm before. The difference between those two guns is night and day.

I've had Shadow 2 in hands but never had a chance to shoot it, only SP--01 which is already very good. Now I'm maybe just going to change front sight with wider fiber optic as the original one is too narrow for my bad eyes.

    What is the advantage of aluminum over walnut grips?

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  3 года назад

      The aluminum grip panels make the overall grip somewhat smaller and they are more aggressive than the walnut grip panels. The aluminum grip panels enhance the grip you will get on the pistol.

      Hi. I'm glad that the video was informative for you. Your question is a tough one. If you haven't watch my review on the Shadow 2 - ruclips.net/video/w4Nqz9CaZA0/видео.html -, I suggest that you watch it first before making your decision. Why is this a tough question? Because they are both very nice pistols with very good design features. The Stock III was ahead of the Shadow SP-01 in terms of design features. The Shadow 2's development has certainly closed the gap with the Stock III. Making a decision between these two pistol will require being very picky to some degree. As well, to make a more accurate or fair comparison between the Shadow 2 and the Stock III, you really should be comparing the Shadow 2 to the Stock III Xtreme.
      If your budget allows, you should seriously consider the Tanfoglio Stock III Xtreme and compare it to the Shadow 2. If your budget doesn't allow for a Stock III Xtreme, then you can still consider a Stock III (standard model) but understand that you will want to change the front sight to a fibre front sight (if you are wanting one). As well, you will want to polish up trigger bar on the Stock III to lower the trigger pull for both the DA and SA. Having made this comment about the Stock III, my Shadow 2 had a very heavy DA (10.5LB if my memory is correct) and SA (4.5-5 lbs if my memory is correct) trigger pull out of the box. I did finally test the Shadow 2 with 8lbs, 10lbs, 11lbs, 12lbs and 13lbs main springs (hammer springs). Much to my surprise both the 12lbs and 13lbs hammer springs did not change the DA and SA trigger pulls much. I was very disappointed. Now, I have the 13 lbs hammer spring in my Shadow SP-01 and that reduced my DA to approximately 6 lbs (a hair under) and reduced the SA to 3 lbs if not a little less. The 13 lbs hammer spring only reduced the DA to around 7.5 lbs and SA around 4.25 lbs in the Shadow 2. I had to put a 10 lbs hammer spring in my Shadow 2 to finally get the DA to around 6 lbs and SA to approximately 3 lbs. Likely the trigger on the Shadow 2 is super smooth so the trigger feels little than it measures. As I said in my video reviews, CZ certainly produce extremely smooth triggers.
      Interestingly enough, a friend of mine purchased a Shadow 2 a year ago and said that his trigger, out of the box had a DA trigger pull of 6 lbs and SA of 3 lbs. I think there may have been enough negative comments about the heavy trigger pulls (DA and SA) out ion the box that CZ installed a little hammer spring for future Shadow 2s. The only way to confirm was I said, without going to the company, would be to bring a trigger pull gauge with you to the store and test the trigger of the Shadow 2 that you may be considering.
      Ok, back to which gun would I choose (as my first pistol)? I prefer a heavy balanced gun. Both guns are heavy although the Shadow 2 is ever so slightly heavier. The Shadow 2 is muzzle heavy. It certainly feels that way to me. I am handling both guns as I type this reply to you and the Shadow 2 definitely feels muzzle heavy. I prefer the balanced feel of the Stock III. Therefore, the balanced weight of the Stock III has me leaning towards the Stock III. It's a tough decision especially if I am comparing a standard model Stock III to the Shadow 2.
      This is the best you will get out of me for a recommendation. Lol If you can afford a Stock III Xtreme, buy it. If the decision is between a standard model Stock III and a Shadow 2, I would consider the Shadow 2. Final comment, make sure you handle both guns before making a final decision. Have fun deciding.

      Thanks, glad you liked the review. I would zero your sights at 25 yards and certainly not less than 20 yards. You could put an Xtreme fibre front sight on it which is a 1mm fibre. The Tanfoglio factory fibre sight is 1.5mm. I have the 1.5mm factory front sight on my Stock III. I'm quite happy with it. I did install the Xtreme front fibre sight on both my Tanfoglio Limited Customs. Which do I prefer? Perhaps I do prefer the Xtreme sight with the 1mm fibre.

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад

      No, the Stock III does not use a buffer on the guide rod. I will likely upgrade my guide rod to an Xtreme guide rod as the design of the Xtreme guide rod is improved and will reduce wear on both the guide rod and gun. Yes, you are correct, most Shadow SP-01 users change their polymer guide rod to a metal one as I did. It was one of the first things I did followed by changing the main spring to a 15 lbs. I will instal a 13 lbs main spring once I find one :-) I also installed a fully adjustable sight.

      Ok, so you're in the US. Your best beat is going to European American Armory - eaacorp.com . EAA is the distributor for Tanfoglio guns in the US. What you need to look for is the fibre front sight for the Tanfoglio Limited Custom as it's front sight is identical to what the Stock III can be fitted with. Easiest thing to do is to call them and ask them for a fibre front sight for your gun. If they don't know what is compatible, ask for a fibre front sight for the Limited or Limited Custom. I have been competing withe the Tanfoglio Limited Custom and Stock III for some 10 years. So, I can tell you that the front sight for either gun is inter-changeable. If you need more help, don't hesitate to ask. I have some other sources in Canada and Europe. I also know of one or two after-market suppliers but you should start with EAA. My email is Shooters-Inc@hotmail.com , don't hesitate to contact me via email as I can send pictures of my front sights as there is both a regular fibre front sight and an Xtreme model of fibre front sight. Hope this helps and I look forward to hearing that you have found a fibre front sight through EAA.

    As for best gun between the shadow 2 and the stock III you would suggest the stock three. I'm looking at getting into IPSC production devision and was wondering what the best choice would be. And as for parts which is more readily available in Canada.

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад +2

      If I compare a standard model Stock III to a CZ Shadow 2 rather than a Stock III Xtreme, I would recommend the Shadow 2. I think that the parts for the Shadow 2 and Stock III are equally available. Remember, there his little you can change in a Production gun if you want it to remain IPSC legal. If you buy the Shadow 2, I highly recommend that you install a 13 lbs main spring as that will reduce your SA to 3.5 lbs from about 4.5 lbs and DA to 7 lbs 13 oz from around 10.5 lbs. The Shadow 2 is competition ready right out of the box whereas a standard Stock III will require a little work on the trigger to get it as smooth and light as the Shadow 2. If the aded expense of s Tanfoglio Stock III Xtreme is not an issue for you, than I would recommend the Stock III Xtreme. Having said this, you really should find someone who have these guns and try them first and then decide. Likely easier said than done....I know. Handguns are very personal. The Stock III made fit perfectly in my hand but perhaps not yours, etc. You need to handle both guns to make a 100% determination to which gun you will actually prefer. You can't go wrong with etc Shadow 2 for the price point!! You will not be disappointed with the Shadow 2. I'm a Tanfoglio guy telling you this :-)

      I bought my 13 lbs main spring at Select Shooting Supplies - selectshootingsupplies.com . Yes, same main spring as the Shadow SP-01. My Shadow 2's SA is now 3.5 lbs (down from 4.5 lbs) and DA is now 7 lbs 13oz (down from about 10.5 lbs). I was hoping that the DA would be closer to 6 lbs. Luckily as the trigger is very smooth, the 7 lbs 13 oz feels a little lighter than it really is. Not sure why the DA and SA has not been reduced more with the 13 lbs main spring in comparison to what the main spring did in my Shadow SP-0. The SA is just under 3.5 lbs but the DA is much lighter at just under 6 lbs.

      Hi Andre. Thanks for the compliment on my video. If the Xtreme Stock II and III are out of your budget, forget them. They are not part of the equation. The Shadow 2 is a very nice gun....it's better than nice, it's awesome. It's not perfect but pretty close to it. No gun is ever perfect but the Shadow 2 has fantastic improvements compared to the Shadow Line SP-01. The Shadow 2 is pretty much competition ready out of the box. You are getting a lot of gun for the money. For 8 Euro buy a 13 lbs or 11 lbs main spring so to reduce your SA and DA trigger pulls. Then the gun is totally ready for competition. The DA out of the box is too heavy at 10.5 lbs. Buy the Shadow 2, you will not regret it. As well, then you have two CZ guns which are similar. TRHis is better than than two different makes of gun which are not quite the same. You want your primary and backup guns to be near identical if possible. In this case, the Shadow 2 and the Shadow Line SP-01 are a perfect pair!!

      Our mags in Canada are restricted to 10 rounds. Hopefully, when the next Conservative Government is voted in, that will change back to the good old days of no capacity restrictions on mags. If you are anywhere else but Canada and California, you should get 16 round mags...maybe 18 round mags with your Stock III.

    Hello, what kind of barrel rifling does it come with? Can i shoot lead reloads with the stock barrel?

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад

      The Tanaglio Stock III has a polygonal rifled barrel. I'm not sure if you want to shoot lead bullets through that barrel. I believe there is an issue with using cast lead bullets without a Hi-Tek coating or copper plating / jacket through polygonal rifled barrels. I'll have to confirm that but I think I'm correct in my assessment.

    • @stockbore

    • @ShootersInc
      @ShootersInc  7 лет назад

      Thanks regarding my review of the pistol :-)
      If you have a Tanfoglio Stock II and you are shooting cast lead bullets that are not Hi-Tek coated or copper plated, and you are having no issues, I wonder if you have a standards rifled barrel in your Stock II. Tanfoglio for a time made both types of barrels: standard rifled and polygonal barrels. I recently tried to order a standard rifled barrel from Tanfoglio along with a polygonal rifled barrel as I wanted to do a comparison between the two barrels using a specific type of ammunition. Tanfoglio informed me that they no longer manufacture the standard rifled barrel. I'm not surprised as polygonal barrels last longer and provide for better accuracy.
      Ok, having said all this, do you have a Stock II with a standard rifled barrel? I'm assuming you do? And that is why you are not having any problems shooting reloads with cast lead bullets through your Stock II. If I have misunderstood you regarding the cast lead bullets, I'm sorry, but I am under the impression that you are using cast lead bullets for your reloading whether you make the bullet yourself or buy them doesn't make a difference in this equation. The main point is that I understand that using a cast lead bullet in a polygonal rifled barrel is not good for the life of the barrel and simply not a good plan period. I gather lead fouling is a much bigger issue with polygonal rifled barrels than with a standard rifle barrel although lead fouling in a standard rifled barrel will result when using cast lead bullets as well.

      I only shoot coated bullets whether Hi-Tek Supercoat or copper plated through my Stock III. In fact, I will NOT shoot standard cast lead bullets without a coating. It is NOT recommend to shoot standard cast lead bullets through a polygonal barrel. The Hi-Tek Supercoat bullets that I shoot (produced by XMetal Targets) are working perfectly in all of my guns: 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 Auto. They are very accurate and consistent. They are also saving me a lot of powder as a reduced load is required to achieve my desired velocity / Power Factor in comparison to copper plated bullets (of the same caliber and weight). What that actually means is that I can make significantly more reloads per pound of powder. That I like!

I made sure that throughout the video I mentioned the fact that my standard Tanfoglio Stock III was upgraded but really minimally - fibre front sight, grip panels and the magazine base pads which are not part of the gun itself. So, my Shadow SP-01 is more modified than my Stock III.
      In regards to the Shadow 2, the key point is that the Shadow 2 has closed the gap on the standard Stock III....and well, is the near equivalent of the Xtreme Stock III. The standard Stock III had a better grip (fore and back-steps) by far over the Shadow SP-01, better rear sight simply because is was fully adjustable, more weight than the SP-01 so better for recoil management, longer sight radius better for accuracy and a polygonal barrel which has a much longer life and is much better for accuracy and in my opinion a better sized ambi safety. I give plenty of credit to CZ for the Shadow 2 as it is an outstanding gun....fantastic series of improvements over the Shadow SP-01. As well, I state that the Shadow SP-01 is a very nice gun. If I didn't say it in my video, the Shadow SP-01 is the gun that I always first recommend to a new shooter. Why? Because it is a great all round gun period and still is, especially for the price point and the fact that the Shadow SP-01 has a great trigger right out of the box.
      I can get my hands on a Xtreme Stock III and compare it to the Shadow 2. I have shot a Tanfoglio Xtreme Stock II as recently as a few days ago. I could compare the Xtreme Stock II to the Shadow 2. If anything that would be more fair to the Tanfoglio Stock III comparing the Xtreme Stock III or Xtreme Stock II to the Shadow 2. I think was was quite fair / un-bias in reviewing the Tanfoglio Stock III and in my comparison to the Shadow SP-01 and Shadow 2 :-) I actually have a review video completed on the Shadow 2 and should be uploading it very shortly. Furthermore, check out my Range Review of the CZ Shadow 2 - ruclips.net/video/LlAu0TugMaQ/видео.html . I could hardly contact my excitement having my Shadow 2 on the range for the first time. I would have shoot more than 60 rounds but it was quite a cold day at -10C with a windchill of -15C.
      Final, comment.... I recommend the Tanfoglio Stock III but I didn't say which gun I prefer. My objective is to provide information on the featured gun and compare it to other similar or its competitor brand / model so that people can make a more informed choice in deciding which gun they want to get. I would have made a determination to which gun I would prefer between the Shadow 2 and the Stock III but I have not shot the Shadow 2 enough it. I have to be fair to the CZ Shadow 2.... Perhaps after a few thousand rounds and a few matches with the Shadow 2, I'll be prepared to tell you which I prefer. I have owned and shot the Stock III and Shadow SP-01 for 6 years and have approximately the same amount of rounds through each (several thousand through each gun, over 10K). For that reason, I made the comment that I prefer the Tanfoglio Stock III over the Shadow SP-01. Just the same, I will never hesitate to recommend the CZ Shadow SP-01 to anyone.
      I really appreciate your comment and as I said it was a fair and a comment that certainly desired an explanation. I have a feeling that you are a Shadow SP-01 shooter :-) Good on you to "defend" it!

      Shooter's Inc thanks for replying. I don't yet have a cz but I'm thinking of getting one. We don't have a tangfolio dealer. I like gun comparisons as it helps me refine my choices. So I like apple to apple comparisons.

      Jake Lucero true, but it might affect the balance of the gun that was rated highly.

      Hi Derek. Like I said, your comment was a fair one. I hope I highlighted the difference enough between the guns but more importantly that I was clear to what was different on my Stock III compared to a standard Stock III out of the box. The changes I did were extremely minimal - grips and front sight.
      If you buy a CZ Shadow SP-01, you will not be disappointed in it. You are getting a quality gun and more gun than you realize for the price. The only thing that I would absolutely recommend that you change in the SP-01 is the main spring....install either a 13 or 15 lbs. The rubber grips are very good and I shot with the rubber grips for over 3 years before I changed them to the aluminum grips which I bought on a whim at a match as the vendor was offering them at a price that I could not pass up :-)
      If the Shadow 2's additional cost is not an issue for you, I would highly recommend that you consider it. It is a very big improvement over the Shadow SP-01. Again, well worth the price tag and competition ready right out of the box. Once again, I would recommend that you install either a 13 or 15 lbs main spring in order to reduce the DA from 10 lbs to somewhere between 5.5 - 6.5 lbs depending on the main spring you choose to install and the SA would be reduced to between 3 - 4.5 lbs as well dependent on you choice of main spring.
      Have fun deciding and shopping! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. You can even send me a private message through RUclips as well to discuss any questions you may have.

    You need to drop the "g" in Tanfoglio. That's how Italians pronounce the word. Got the internet? There are foreign languages dictionaries out there where you can listen to original pronunciations.

      Thanks. I actually have no problem with foreign languages or foreign pronunciations. :-) I speak a few. Just pronouncing it as a North American would....incorrectly! LOL

      Just like english speakers say Italy and not Italia....both are correct depending on your geography, nationality, background, etc. Oh, and great review/comparison!
