Build a dog kennel roof fast and cheap, homestead, ranch or in town, it can be done with very little purchase or no cost. See how our quick food failed with snow and rain. We build a new roof over 10x10 dog kennel with scrap 2x4s and 1x2s and 3 in screws. Used old tarp. Only tools you really need are drill, and saw .... easy and fast. #DogkennelRoof #diy #Homestead

What is the length of 2x4 holding main support inside and outside the cage?
I would also run snow fence across the trusses before putting up the tarp. Just to hold the tarp up when snow is heavy. Loved your video and including the kids. Great job.

I have rabbits in my kennels and this just happened with water. I had to buy a water pump. I’m going to attempt to build roofs like this with my nephew. Wish me luck! 😂😂

Omg, that happened to us. Lost 2 out of 3 cats, 1 my buddy. :( Years later built shelter using cattle panels over horse corral for ag animals, they did this too. Once compromised, did it on next snow too. :/ We never get snow, so... :/
Should've put the crossmember on the inside of the cage rather than outside. The roof will hold more weight.
That’s a great idea.... I only had to go out a couple times to take snow off .... held up pretty good now serving as a sun shade 🙌🏽
The dog life outside? The house of the dog has insulation ? I going to have a dog but my garage is cold I’m building a house with insulation and I’m going to put insulation on the garage in the roof and heater he gone be normal ?

Not enough pitch for the width when you have not secured a solid square frame.
Please review your math when you calculated the pitch for the length and width of the kennel. Man, you should have put some 4 by 4s in the corners. Then frame from there. That chain isn’t going to hold the weight of the snow. Put the dogs in the barn with some straw or in the house during this type of weather and you sleep in the kennel. That heat lamp will bbq the dogs when that thing caves in again.
Should have this already so it don't take so long. Actually boring.
Dogs belong in a home not kennel.
The kennel door is left open all the time… only closed if we have certain guests over…
i agree. but im looking into building an enclosed escape proof kennel area off of my back porch with a dog door on my back door so my dog can get in and outside when im gone at work every day.
