- In Gaza, Palestinian journalists document the war as they live it on a daily basis. In this BBC World Service film, we hear the story of BBC Arabic’s reporter in Gaza, Adnan El-Bursh who found himself reporting the news, as he was living through it.
Israel launched a military campaign in response to Hamas' cross-border attack on southern Israel on 7 October, during which about 1,200 people were killed and 253 others were taken hostage.
More than 34,480 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.
A deal agreed in November saw Hamas release 105 of the hostages in return for a week-long ceasefire and some 240 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

They had more important things to report on, like the Oscars and Taylor Swift taking a dump.
They shouldn't be praised. They are still saying things like "Hamas run Ministry of health numbers to cast doubt on the accuracy of the numbers of those who've been slaughtered. Why don't they preface England numbers by naming who runs the government when reporting on any stats in England but they feel they have to do so with Gaza?.

Speaking of reporting, why has the press failed to talk about the hostages that are being held? How many are still alive? Are they still being tortured like the ones that were released? The released hostages stories are on Wikipedia but not in the news. Why? Why has the press not even asked to interview any of the hostages? Qatar has backed out of negotiations because both sides don't want peace. That is right, both sides. The citizens of Gaza shown in BBC propaganda are still deeply committed to war and are sacrificing their own citizens, their own children for propaganda purposes. Before October 7th Iran was paying every palestinian injured or killed while attacking Israel. Is it still doing this? Are other muslim countries and organizations also paying in to this? Is Hamas only letting foreign aid reach those actively working to support the war? Any fair attempt at reporting would ask these questions yet I don't see any of it in any of the major news outlets. Are people at the BBC and major news outlets somehow getting paid to support Gaza? That would be a good question for the NSA and CIA to be looking in to.

I am an ex-muslim and I support Israel's right to defend itself.
If this was about Muslims we'd care. they only party that makes this conflict about religion is Israel since that's how they justify their expansion and atrocities.

The discussion in this war is absurd.
First. Israel acted selflessly to live in peace with the Palestinians in Gaza. It was more than a decade ago when Israel itself ordered Israeli citizens who had lived there for decades to literally leave their homes. The first thing the Palestinians did in return was to elect a government that enshrined the goal of destroying Israel in the constitution. The elected government followed through with its promise. Since its founding, thousands of rockets have flown into Israeli settlement areas. Dozens of civilians died in terrorist attacks. Millions of aid funds - intended for civilian institutions - were misused to sponsor this terrorism. October 7th was just what Humus had been doing for years.
Secondly. Israel behaved more humanely in this conflict than any other conceivable party in any imaginable conflict. It allowed Palestinians to work in Israel, receive medical care or even migrate to Israel. During war, they warn civilians where their military is operating. They admit collateral damage and apologize for it.
The situation is clear. In no other conflict the responsibility for the suffering has been so one sided and clear - in no other conflict have the perpetrators been held accountable so weakly. People with voice and power who claim to reject war and the nature of war have a duty to unequivocally name the culprit of this war and do everything in their power to eliminate them. Everything else is responsibility for the resulting suffering and is as history has proved continuing this madness.

What? Arabs invaded Israel in 1948 and lost the war thankfully. Palestinians never set up a country and never have been one. If Palestinians had spent the years after the ottoman empire fell, making a country setting up logistics, admin, legalities, they would have a country. They were able to have 45% population in the Jewish state too! They turned it down and tried war and lost every time. Jews did it right, they set up a country, they built, worked and created. They have a great academic and economic powerhouse today.
