Great reaction Britt. I wish you would listen to Alison Krauss sing. She has a phenomenal voice and until recently had more grammies than any other female artist. She started as a fiddle player at a very young age and only started singing as she got older. Jacob's Dream is a great story-telling song sung by her.

Alison does more than just play the fiddle, she's an extremely talented vocalist and has many hits of her own. She has Blue Grass roots and has performed with Ricky Skaggs and many other Blue grass artists. She's also done some duos with Vince Gill. I remember first seeing her when she was with Union Station back in the early 1990s. Here's a performance on Art Fein's Poker Party in 1991 with her singing "Heavens Bright Shore".

About 7 or 8 years ago there was a tv movie called Dolly Patron’s Coat Of Many Colors, Dolly’s family’s true story based on this song about their struggles around the time she was nine years old and clearly depicts the abject poverty that she came from. Hers is a truly remarkable American success story, and she knew at a very young age where she would end up. Well worth your time to watch it and her mother is played by Jennifer Nettles from the country duo Sugarland, which is also worth a listen and reaction. She is a heck of a vocalist also to add to your country list.

Wonderful reaction. I read that this was a true story from Dolly's childhood. She never forgot about the area where she grew up. She created Dollywood not for herself, but for a source of income for the people who lived in that impoverished area. She has always been about doing the right thing.

I never realized how financially poor we were until a Boy Scout troop started locally with its accompanying Cub Scouts. My brother (13 months older than me) and I were thrilled at the thought of entering the scouting world. We went to the first meeting and found out that there was a 25¢ weekly dues required. I went home full of hope and told my Mom we would need 50¢ per week for the two of us. It was payable up front at $2.00 each month. It was the first time my momma cried in front of us kids as she told us the family could not afford that.
As an adult, I became a Scout Leader and told every kid (well-off or poverty striken) that we had found someone to pay their dues and to not worry about it. I paid their dues. No child should feel that they are somehow less than others.

Yep. We didn't have any money. Most if the time we didn't even have a lot of the variety if store bought food that others did. My mom cooked everything and many times it was just basic food to get by. We lived a country life. I never thought of it as we were poor even though we didn't have big Christmas gifts and birthdays. It was just life to us. Even today I don't think of holidays as a time to pass out big gifts although I always tried to buy nice things for my parents in their retirement years. I don't regret it. I have very fond memories of those days. It just makes me thankful and appreciative today. I see people and all they seem to care about is money and it really just bewilders me that people think that that the only thing in life is money and having "things."

Many years ago I saw Dolly walking down a concourse at LAX when a mother and father asked if they could take a picture of her with their child. Dolly didn't stop long, understandably, but she did stop and I recall her smile seemed absolutely sincere. One can imagine as a celebrity having to stop out in public for photo requests must get awfully wearisome but Dolly really seemed happy to share a moment with that family.

Just realized listening to your comment that Donna Summer & Dolly Parton are 2 sides of the same coin.
Donna was beautiful like Dolly and didn't have to fake it, both could sing & write, and would let others sing without trying to upstage.
They both had no negative things said(other than the lie about the LGBTQ with Donna) about them, and very helpful to others when possible.
The last thing is both had something extra, a magic about them, their presence was above most, like 99.9% of other artists.
Watch Donna on Rosie O'Donnell show, she lets Rosie sing (who can't 😄).
Both Donna & Dolly were of faith and had a sense of humor and weren't offended when viewed as sexy, they rolled with the punch and always won that battle.

She had to have a special permit to sing in licences Bars and had to be escorted! The Family was quite poor then one day tragedy struck and both Parent were killed ! She was 22 and taking a. Imputed course in Toronto as a back up plan to her singing career! She returned to Timmins to care for her younger siblings and got a job in a local Resort for money to care for the Family! I could tell she so connected with Dolly’s song !

Okay. I kept waiting to hear Alison Krauss sing, and that's not what she was doing for this song. She does have a wonderfully pure singing voice, and it would be great for you to do one of her songs. And yes, I love how gracious Dolly is, in not needing to take a front row seat all the time. She is just the best.

I have never heard a bad word about Dolly. Well, other than she's dying or died🙄 which really makes her mad. Kenny Rodgers said if Dolly thinks it she say it.

Maybe for a Fourth of July reaction video there is a video called (The star spangled banner as you never herd it.) I guarantee that if you never herd it you definitely have more appreciation for America

I don't know if you are aware but Shania's parents were killed in a car wreck and she raised her siblings.
She's a special lady too! At least that's the way I remember it.

Beside the fiddle Allison Kraus is a fantastic singer also. Here she is doing a duet of Amazing Grace with Andrea Bocelli:

Hi Brit. Here's a link to the Alison Krauss song "When You Say Nothing at all." Even if you don't record a reaction, you should give yourself the pleasure of hearing it. Selfishly though, I would love the reaction and am pretty sure I'm not alone in that. Have a great day, Pretty Lady.

You have such a great heart. I pray you find God again. Not man but God. I left the church for over 10 years before realizing my issues were man made. Not God made. Yes that man could be preacher or family member . Or , myself?!
