It's more of a spectrum, most people around me and I would have strong singlish accents among friends and family, and start to lose it once we go towards acquaintances and strangers and turn to a neutral accent with foreigners.

Haven’t watched your video yet but the accents really threw me off. Are they born and raised in Singapore? Their accents sounded like a weird combination of Australian and English. I know Indians who speak English tend to have the “British” influence in their accent sometimes. I’m not familiar with Singaporean culture but these people don’t seem like they’re from Singapore to me.
Nicky1026 none of their accents are Singaporean. I bet a good number of them are not even real Singaporeans. Their accents are a mangled mess of trying to sound American. They are not trying to sound British or Australian. If they do, it's because their attempts at a real American accent is a complete disaster.
You'll hear the same weird accent with our Singaporean radio DJ's (I hate it so much lol)! I'm guessing that it's a combination of thinking that "Western" accents make you sound cooler/more sophisticated, and that they think that the Singaporean accent is annoying or "unrefined"?
