  • Philip Van Impe is a Brigade General (Ret) of the Belgian Armed Forces and a proven leader both as a soldier and as a citizen. His military career granted him remarkable insights and perspectives into the differing conditions, cultures, and leaders of the world. It is with these experiences and encounters that molded him into the astute leader he is today and positioned him to serve as the Chair of Leadership of the Belgian Royal Military Academy.
His TEDx talk draws on the concepts of the VUCA world and combines it with his unique experiences as a soldier to advocate for the necessity of comprehensive leaders. He argues that comprehensive leadership is built upon an ethical foundation and supported by pillars of transformational and serving leadership.

Well Done Philip ! Excellent cursus with a lot of illustrations. I was also In Somalia at that time and for myself it was also the biggest experience in my military Career. You are an effective leader and an excellent teacher ! Just a comment, the background "KUL..." is maybe disrupting... but for the speech.... a new President of the United States could not do better. Hope to see you again.

Fantastic, well done Philip. Great performance.

Groet! Philip

Inspirational talk on the foundations of contemporary leadership: ethical, transformational ans servant.

I might be a bit “biased” because I know the speaker very well 😉, but in his talk he perfectly sums up how our leaders should be: transformational, servant-oriented and above all ethical. Can’t agree more!

The temple brings together many interesting principles in a whole. VUCA is indeed the big challenge. Attracting, motivating, developing, and achieving success together is the challenge for every organization. Fewer and fewer people in the labor market asks for strong leadership to provide people with a good workplace with challenges and opportunities to develop. Well done Philip.

Fantastic talk about leadership through time and how leaders should always be servant, transforming, ethical and focused on improving or rather help their employees growing… Clearly a very experienced leader himself General Van Impe takes us through his experiences in the field salted with his great work on leadership development within the Belgian army. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with him in several leadership courses and hope to be in that position again soon… as it will inspire me to become a better leader myself!
