around 10 dollars for the battlepass? thats actually alright. You even get 300 caliber from the battlepass. Skins expensive for sure, but as long as the battlepass isnt getting more expensive - the monetization looks fair in my eyes for a f2p game in these days.

Naw if u play Black Desert Online they charge $22 for outfits just outfits $35 for outfits that come with a full set of weapon skins so this is fine
if BP going to be £10, that's gonna be really nice, (in most games I play it's around £20) I don't mind spending that much and supporting the f2p game.

People really need to follow the Warframe standard, the pricing is insane (yes I know about heirloom packs and they already lowered them by 75%). Prime access gives discounted plat, and boosters, and obviously pay for connivence. Those bundles are usually 50-70, they are offer a bonus plat of 50% on daily logins as well, if you buy which also isn’t bad. This model for TFD is beyond ridiculous, their “prime” is 100$ and you get the bonuses to make it have a forma and reactor essentially. Which again is included in anything you buy in Warframe and already put on, besides the forma. They need to lower all prices in half it does not matter that it’s free to play, if you want a sustainable model make it cheaper or at least double the caliber you get.

Coming from gacha games and D2 this is better then I hoped for coming from Nexon. They had a gacha game at one point who’s best character to fully max was something crazy like 5k. I’ll update if I can remember what it was called but they already shut it down.

I only plan on buying the Battle Pass. $10 for extra loot etc in a free to play game is money well spent and worth supporting the devs hard work on this title.
My general rule when it comes to monetization is if i can get 1 hour of enjoyment per 1$ spent, that makes it worth it.
Considering you can grind the important stuff just by playing F2P will be just fine.

That is a positive and healthy way to look at it. I had a similar conversation recently with a friend about the Xbox Game Pass, for 8 euro me finishing one game its already worth it.

I don’t mind the $10 battle pass what I’m worried about is how much is the pay for convenience part with unlocking descendants etc. as someone with a limited time to play I normally lean towards this to get enjoyment out of the game not just farming for months to finally play what I want.
I think descendants were 600 Caliber each but don't quote me on that.

The only matter for me is what is the cap slots for chars and weapons because if I have to buy new slots with real money and I literally have 0% chance for getting them by playing game then it is big red flag and it means I have to stay away from it. Because we know there will be a lot of new chars and weaps in the future also u can double ur mod limits so exacly like in Warframe. But in Warframe u can earn platinium (premium currency) by playing game and trade with other players. In Warframe 90% of my platinium I just spent on these slots, the rest for fashion...
I have the same question. Do I have to pay for extra descendant and weapon slots? And how much are they? 2nd question is how fast can premium currency be aquired just by playing, if at all. I hope they make a player to player trade system for the exact same reasons.

Idk if you know, but you can get free slots frop nightwave and even for free if you grind :P ! I sold glaive prime set blueprints for ~150-200p (300p when it was in high demand) and got super rich on plat. 😅
@maimer1691 Nightwave came long after the game was released. Slots were the biggest road block to a new f2p player in WF for a very long time. That's why we're asking about price and availability and whether or not there will be a player to player trading system.
@@GRudeger oh yeah, player to player trading system also exists in Warframe. Wouldn't FD have the same problem for their newer players as well? When you start as a new player in Warframe you get a bit of free plat which you can in turn use to buy one or two slots. The grind up some plat for anymore you want. It'd be nice if FD did the same.
They gave us a bunch of caliber in the beta test and we were able to buy the descendant parts and craft them correct? Anyone remember how much a single descendant cost? That may be the only thing I purchase so I can play Jayber right out the gate as I didn't care for any of the 3 starter descendants.
It was like 300 total for all the parts I believe.

@@sKullzoo9 I agree, to a certain extent. I didn't really like any of the starter Descendants, they were all very meh. I loved Jayber. So I will be full on grinding with Jayber, rather than a Descendant I find dull and boring. It will make me play even more.
@@sKullzoo9 there is a difference between grinding a fair amount and grinding hell amount of hours to get a single thing.
Grinding is okay when you won't feel that you won't get what you want if you don't pay
@@Luctor they stated that it would take us around 10-15 hours of casual grind for a descendant.. so that means you can grind 1 class out very easy if you are monster grinder :)
Given Nexon's past record of scummy choices regarding monetization I am going to wait for a detailed breakdown after launch before trying this game. I worry there will be paywalls or other nonsense once you reach endgame.

If those prices stay, it's basically like Destiny 2 and/or other games. It is sadly industry standard. But fair and not dilusional for a f2p game. Remember the devs have to monetize the game somehow, inform yourself about current development costs of games, it is insane. As long as it doesn't get too much into pay2win and mostly pay4fashion, i am totally fine with it.
I'm the kinda person who'd go for buying skins often if they felt affordable and very likely spend hundreds in the long run, but 15-25 for a skin just feels like I won't be buying a single one as that kinda asking price doesn't feel like the worth of a single skin to me. To buy 3 better skins would be 75 bucks, the price of a AAA title and no doubt the game will after that keep asking for more for many other things... so in that sense, I'd prefer something else than a "free"to play monetization... But time will tell if that is actually the kinda range or if it's tweaked for the release...
It's not a sad industry, it simply a way to sell a product. A different format. The point is that if they want to make profit for long time, they should focus more on affordable cheap things that are available for battle pass and maybe stuff like cosmetics make them more exclusive or more limited to when the new character is released, similar to prime access
If the game got me hooked, the price is ok to support the dev, but these kind of games are usually 50/50 good and bad, beta was ok, nothing that surprised me, but I wanna see how the end game is, if the pricing for the battlepast is similar like Helldivers 2 level of microtransaction, that's cool.
If it will be completely playable just with premium BP for 10usd/eur, Im ok with that. And by playable I mean no mental grind to reach p2w player levels.
These prices seem fair. I can see myself dropping some money on the game assuming I actually enjoy it.

BP price is decent, but get bent on skins prices all i care about is how much backpack space i have and how much it'll cost to max the spaces
You as a content creator should know why they have to sell in specific increments and won’t let you just buy a single item. It because of the platform store fee. PlayStation/ steam/ Microsoft require items in their shops and the currency to be their shop and they can’t just have a slider. It’s has to be incremental.
Hopefully we can get the premium currency when trading comes out after release. Trading is the only reason why I can stomach Warframe’s horrible cash shop.

Do you know if you can find premium currency in game at all? The skin prices seem really high but I guess that's good because they can milk the whales. If the BP is 10$ I think that's okay. I've bought full price games for 60$ so buying a BP a couple times for a game I sink 100hrs into is more than fair but I'd never pay 15$ for a skin

jesus that is expensive. If the caliber costs in the last beta are accurate to release build then its a bit disappointing how expensive they are making it.
While they removed the gacha paint system I have to assume the pricing of the new system will still be similar. The Gacha system costed 300 caliber for 5 rolls, thats more than $1 per single use paint. And that price was set around the idea of gacha random rolling. If its not random anymore we can expect it to cost more than that for paint now
On the surface $1 or $2 for a single-use paint doesnt sound that bad, but when you consider the development time of the paint it seems a bit excessive. It took someone less than 5 seconds to make that paint and they are charging $1 or more for it

15-25 for a single skin just feels disrespectful.
Hopefully the grind for getting them won't be too exhausting, but that kind of a pricepoint makes me think they're going to be making it annoying on purpose to sell. Shame, as I love buying skins often and would likely have spent a lot more on the game with lesser prices, since those kinda skinprices make me often not buy anything and then just tune out when things get dissatisfying to earn.
Hopefully the prices will be tweaked for the final version.
A F2P game needs a cash shop, it's fair for them to include one, games need to make money so they can add more content.
The battle pass is an ok price if I like the game and will get a lot of play time out of it I'll probably get it, but skins being 15 to 30 dollars is stupid and people are stupid for paying this much. Basically up to Half the price of a AAA full game for 1 skin for 1 character...
2-3 things play a role here:
1. If the cosmetics & co. cost a little bit more than normal €15 or more, that is okay with me because that wont disrupt my enjoyment of the gameplay.
2. If the rest costs normal then we are good, like Battlepass €10 or some other convenience thing. I have seen much worse than €10 for a Battlepass.
3. I hope we dont get some Gacha because that will make the game expensive.

First descendant looks like a good game but I'm pretty sure it won't last. It'll die out after a couple of months, I'll give it about a year.

As good as this game is, I dont think it will mirror Warframes 100% free to play environment. Sure you can spend money to get things faster but everything is free and craftable. This game has copied a lot from Warframe, I hope the copy that very important element. Warframe is the best F2P game of all time and they make money, so it clearly works.

The model is anything but identical to the one in Warframe. The fact that you can trade the premium currency in Warframe and in TFD we won't be able to do that makes it the complete opposite. And as the previous commenter mentioned, the battle pass there is free with no paid skips. I don't mean to talk ill about TFD, I'll definitely play the game when it comes out since I had fun in the betas, but I don't appreciate false information being given.

okay you can't trade, battle pass. I never interacted with trading and I never did the battle pass in warframe, so it's really no different to me. And, for most casual players, it really will NOT make any significant difference. If you don't agree, that's fine, but I really don't care at this point. People are making a fuss over nothing. They wouldn't make a fuss over fortnite's battle pass or any other game's battle pass.

All that pricing is really just relative to the amount of money asked to purchase an item. I rarely play FTP and do not mind spending on something that has good value. However I am not a person to spend Hundreds on a game. Too many other good games out there to sink $$$ into one game.
This is what I expected, because it makes the Battle Pass $10, which was the most likely item to be a standardized price. But it is too expensive in my opinion. I already don't buy Prime Access for Warframe, and TFD is trying to release with lesser value on its ultimate bundles? Guess we're doing mostly free-to-play.

Warframe's battle pass is entirely free and the reward are not exclusive so you can choose to do or skip it.

The only thing I worry about is progression locked behind consumables that the easiest way to obtain them is from purchasing them in the shop. While it's a PVE game, so pay2win isn't as egregious, that type of approach just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Hopefully this is a non issue.

Yeah cant see myself spending money on this. With $15-25+ skins, then $5 back accessories, one time use colors you have to buy......ill gladly spend my money on games that are not trying to squeeze as much out of me as possibly can.

Gacha Games are way more expensive. You have to spend an average of $70-120 per new 5* character introduced which is often even twice a month. And even then in gacha games you only have a base character, not maxed out. Maybe not even his/her signature weapon (if walking in WuWa terms) or signature light cone (if talking in star rail terms). You can't even begin to compare those 2 models!

Idk why people complain so much about the prices are similar to other f2p games. If you complain about this price why dont you guys go and boicot apex and Valorant. When the prices are predatory for what you get. $25 for a skin is comparable to Valorant, apex and other games with similar shops. You guys are just making a big deal about something that's not new. And the company has to receive funds to maintain the game. That's nothing new. That's why destiny 2 has paid dlc and a shop. Complain about something else.

I know Im an old boomer ranting, but see, I want to put money in this game, I will probably play it a ton and I would have no problem spending money on it BUT I refuse to buy a battlepass, battlepasses are the most pathetic and disgusting filth that has ever cursed gaming, I'd be ready to dish out 50 to 100 euros for this game during the weeks/months but not for a battlepass...

@@Ninja_Pro I played D1 & D2 for years, I even put up with Tess Eververse raid boss when it all started.. its also garbage, just because the game is "F2P" they try to justify asking a full price AAA-game's worth on a single bundle that gives you a "couple" cosmetics.. Same shit with Marvel Snap, completely ruined by greed and mobile monitization. Cant get any news card or you have to wallet €100 for a single new card, its disgusting.
Thats not going to end well for them, i'll try the game and see if it runs smooth and worth my time, but i'm not dropping mad cash on those dumb nerd beach waifu outfits..
I'm also not shy of microtransactions, I happily spend alot on my "main" game if it supports the company behind it and those micro's are "fair"

This game looks like an old ue3 game and soooooo boring! The ui designer probably designed that ui during a nap. Overall the whole game is just boring. This is no contender for Warframe - not even close! + Warframe is thanks to the p2p trading market extremely f2p friendly!
