That's a beautiful set-up you've put together. It looks like it could have come from the manufacturer that way. In fact I wish they would sell one like this. As a long time Harley rider I particularly liked the use of the Daymaker lights. They really look right at home on the RE. I hope you do a video of your travels on this bike.
Thanks a lot Irvin for your feedback 🙂 The daymaker LED fog lights are very expensive, but they look great on the RE, absolutely agree. Travels follow soon, just have to wait for better weather ;-)

That's a great setup you have there Marc - it all looks really professional looking and not just cobbled together. It definitely looks better with the spoked wheels and without the screen. I love how you say the word "Rugged". You've said it in a few videos and it makes me smile every time. Forgive me if this is insulting to you in any way, as it could just be your accent, but in case you don't know - it's pronounced "rug-id" in English. I have to practice my English more again, my German accent is too clear. 😂 Thanks for the tip and your feedback. I agree concerning the look of the spoked wheels, but for touring would prefer the tubeless tires, would make repairing much easier in case of a puncture 🙂
It can certainly be improved, especially technical descriptions with technical terms are quite difficult. Hopefully I do not forget rug-id or rugged will become my personal slogan :-)
I don’t know, but what RE offers is something totally different in my opinion. Classic bikes with the essence of the 50’s (pretty much because they are built the same way as in the 50’s or 60’s). What I’ll like to see is a more powerful bike those 650 engines can give much more.
I owned a Triumph Bonneville T100 too, a great and very good looking bike! But for half the price you get a RE and for me the 20 hps are enough for cruising 🙂
No, the guys at the workshop did it, but when I change back to the alloy rims I will do it by myself, but you need a second person, makes it much more easy.
Hello! It looks like you've tried all the accessories that exist for this model :), all that's left to do is give it a try to a Hitchcocks PERFORMANCE CAMSHAFT STAGE 2 along with decat pipe and air filter open cover! I just installed mine, but didn't ride due to the weather conditions.Cheers!
You are right, I tried a lot :-D I think the cam shaft is a good performance booster, I am not sure, if the decat pipe is authorized in Germany, the TÜV is very strict. Have a safe ride!
Very interesting to see that you use classic off-road tyres on your classic motorcycle. The Heidenau K60 Scout is a legend - been with us from the old days and still serves us. Famous for durability and versatility. Maybe there are better tyres on the market today, but no tyre is classic like these. That's the whole point of the RE 350 CLASSIC!
Hi, the Chrome Bronze colour is perfect for this Classic. It's seems a perfect tourer now. I prefer alloy wheels and tubeless tires. Less problems during long rides. Great job! Enjoy this beautiful bike 🏍 👍🏼🔝👏🏻😉
Struggling to find pannier bags / rear bag I like for Super Meteor 650. So far I have the same luggage rack as you for the rear. Your bike looks great (and very functional)!
Looks great, that colour way is very classic looking. Are you happy with the crash bars,? The Harley lights are a nice touch. The tyre noise is satisfactory, ? Thank you for sharing with us, happy travelling.
Thanks John, I am happy with the crash guards, not the most stable ones, but I need them to mount the LED lights and my cameras. The Heidenau tires are of course a bit louder than street tires because of the rough tire tread, but it's ok. Have a safe ride 🙂
Hallo Marc, wegen Dir habe ich damals eine Vespa 300 GTS gekauft. Deine Videos und Vergleiche haben mir sehr geholfen. Hello Marc Im driving classic350 2023 with touring seat but handlebar is not comfortable. Are you comfortable after touring handlebar ?only touring seat is uncomfortable because handlebar lower than seat.
Excellent end result. Unfortunately, being 6'4'' with 34'' inside leg, I feel that this bike will always be too small for comfort. It is a great pity as everything else about it is perfect. It is a great pity RE does not produce larger frames for the western market where people tend to be substantially taller.
My take on such a bike for 18tkm touring across europe: - get decent road tires, i.e. BT46 - get your suspension right, i.e. spring rate and oil in the front, and shocks from Hagon or better (Bitubo, Ikon, Wirth, …) for you with and without the luggage. - get your lights top, expensive: Nolden 7” insert, less expensive: Osram/Philips LED insert. Need no position lights and added stuff. - cut your stock clutch, brake levers short, so they don’t hit the ground and brake or brake the related pump - get a loud horn! Yes, a truck-loud horn! - Reholster the stock seats for hard foam, as long ride ridicule any stock foam of most bikes. - Use waterproof saddlebags, not leather. No, there’s no warranty for rain-less travel. Neither for dust-less travel. Your bags will collect both and will never be really clean again after a while. - never use a top-case or similar on tour, cases and mounts brake with all the vibration and forces given to them. - don’t add big crash bars as you have them already mounted in original form, wide steering bars. - The brakes are not made for fully loaded speedy braking, so avoid load that’s not necessary. ! But before all that, ride that bike night and day rain, strong wind and heat over 4.000km to determine your kit, or update as you go along realizing what didn’t work and fixing it.
Hi, thanks for your tips! I am thinking about installing the Bridgestone tires on my alloy rims, they seem to be very good for road usage. I have some rain covers for my leather saddlebags, so this shouldn’t be a problem. You did 18000 k on the Classis 350, that’s a lot. Are you happy with the bike for touring? Is there enough space in the housing for an Osram LED light?
Looks great 😎👍👍

- cut your stock clutch, brake levers short, so they don’t hit the ground and brake or brake the related pump
- get a loud horn! Yes, a truck-loud horn!
