A tour Nafplio at night in mid August, to capture some of the spirit and culture and vibrancy of Nafplio and Greece.
Nafplio was the fist capital of Greece, seat of the Greek 1821 revolution and a Venetian medieval fortress town 15km from Argos.
A must visit being one and a half hours from Athens and at the gateway to the Peloponnese in Greece.
Great for a day out on a holiday or vacation. and easy to visit local islands like Spetses or Hydra using a ferry boat.

You mentioned Greek, European and Arabic script. Surely Greece IS European. You meant to say Greek Arabic and Roman or Latin script. Sorry to split hairs, but it is actually quite important. The Greeks do and have ALWAYS regarded themselves as European and a bastion of Western civilisation as well as the cradle of democracy, notwithstanding its imperfections then AND now. It's not just the classical works but the Hellenistic works and much of the history of Rome that was written in Greek, not forgetting the New Testament and the works of the early church fathers. Greece qualifies as Europe at the very minimum. And it's an EU member.
A propos of nothing, but I've noticed in your videos that in the touristy bits like here and central Athens, most signs in shops etc are in Roman / Latin script. It's only a bit off the beaten that you see signs in Greek for the locals. I understand why they do it, but surely they could use two scripts, one above the other. Greece should promote its language and culture more. After all, if it wasn't for the Greeks and Athenians specifically, we'd all be having to learn Persian, Iranian, Farsi, or whatever. Anyway, keep up the good work. Your videos are really informative. Thanks. 😄😃

If you're planning to visit Nafplio, check out a great book about its history, buildings and characters: "Nafplio: Biography of a Greek Town" by Matt Stanley. It has a guided walk and a load of information about the castles, the squares, the coastal walk and much more . . .

Love! Regarding the history, pretty sure the Turks took Nafplio by force from the Venetians. The Ottomans didn't add much. They weren't the builders that the Venetians were.
