so glad to hear that you find it useful! You know, I wasn't sure about this video exactly because there isn't much of a conversation about it.. and also because talking about depression on social media is still quite vulnerable experience to me.. But hey, if it helps, then it's worth it! ☺
I moved from South Africa to the Netherlands. I have clinical depression, GAD and ADHD. Last winter I was truly at the end of my rope. Luckily I made it to the top of the waiting list for help in time. Simply knowing what was happening made it so much more manageable. I'm now on Bupropion and I use a sun lamp and have a cross' trainer in the attic. When the weather is awful, I still move my body. I worship the sun! Also take vitamin D from September 1 to March 1. All of your tips have made a huge difference. I also read books about Summer or beautiful Winter scenes. It helps romanticise my own life.
I emigrated from South Africa 25 yrs ago. I live in Oregon USA. Yeah, seasonal is tough. Vitamin D helped me a lot. I take a large amount (advised by doctor) as small amounts did nothing.
Thanks for the great information Evie. Every video I learn more and more, and I am very thankful that you take the time to put these out. I’m not a fan of winter. Primarily because I don’t like constantly feeling cold. The overwhelming lack of sunlight doesn’t help either. It gets old after a while. But, recently I’ve discovered a trick that has been helping. Sometimes when I wake up earlier than needed I will put on a rain video on YT and go back to sleep for an hour or so. I love sleeping when it is raining, I find the sound comforting. Since it rains more often in the summer where I live, the sound of the rain tricks my sleeping brain into thinking it is summer; the time of year I am happiest. I then wake up feeling less of the weight of the world and in a better mood for the day.
It's great that you've found your own way to deal with the 'winter blues'. I'm in Belgium now so I definitely don't need rain videos, we have plenty of it here all the time :D But yes, some sounds can definitely put us in a better mood! 🎶
I'm not a cat person, but the early simon's cat videos always made me laugh so hard that i didn't even make noise anymore and tears were streaming down my face 😅.
Hey there, I just discovered your channel, Evie Ran, and I love the relatable and insightful content you're sharing on ADHD and mental well-being! It's clear that you're passionate about helping others, and I truly admire your approach. I noticed your channel has room to grow, with fewer subscribers and views due to limited impressions. I’d be happy to help optimize your titles, descriptions, tags, hashtags, and off-page SEO, plus manage your channel and promote your videos on social media to increase your visibility, views, and subscribers. For your satisfaction, we can start with one video as a test. Best Regards, Rezaul Bari
Finally someone speaks about that aspect - winter is usually easier, it's summer that is hard. You give really good practical tips
