Even after Raquel and Cassandra find out he’s an illegal immigrant that can’t speak English when Boycie comes in Del still introduces him as Rodney’s friend. 😂
Yeah it lost its charm when Del and Rodney started to get noticeably older. Plus I think the dynamic changed to much when they added Raquel and Cassandra.
@@HolloVVpoint Yes, I can't disagree with that. It gets to a point that when something changes too much, it loses that charm and begins to feel like a different program altogether BUT am happy the old eps are there to enjoy whenever you wish

Yeah I think it was degrading in the extreme. Nobody possibly could find anything about this amusing. It’s punishing having to watch it for my arts portfolio. The lack of intelligence exhibited by fans of this show is more prominent statistically than many children’s shows even ahead of loose women bowers or behind depending on your stance
Nabil Elouahabi who played Gary was born in London, and had a regular London accent, but the writer John Sullivan wanted him to use his family's Moroccan accent for this appearance.
Yeah I remember him from EastEnders. His character was named Tariq Larousi and he was the half - brother of the Ferreira family siblings whose names were Kareena, Adi, Ronnie and Ash. Unfortunately the whole family including Tariq were written out of the show by the producers and scriptwriters because EastEnders was suffering from a loss of viewing figures at the time. It's a shame though as he was so funny in this episode and I preferred the whole Ferreira family over Pauline Fowler as I always thought she was constantly miserable, nasty and moaning.
@@jennynott3841 I was in a play and the director is a friend of his. We were talking about that episode and he said that he’ll get him to come watch. Didn’t think he would be he did.
The window at night in the flat was a painting. I worked in a warehouse where they kept old sets and bit and bobs from TV shows and that painting was in the warehouse. A lot of stuff just got destroyed, I had to brake up pieces of the set for Kavener QC with a sledgehammer, such a waste I thought.
I love even after Raquel, Cassandra and Damien find out he’s an illegal immigrant that can’t speak English when Boycie comes in Del still introduces him as Rodney’s friend. 😂😂😂
Thought this episode was much better than "If they could see us now". Incidentally I thought Sleepless In Peckham was a total and utter let down after this episode.
These episodes were painful to watch tbh. I have all the DVDs bar everything after the trotters walked off into the sunset in 1996 after becoming millionaires. Everything that came after that was the BBC flogging the show to a horrible death.
I will say this, the ending when they walked into the sunset was the perfect ending to the show, I don't think that any of the episodes are after we're terrible I think they still held a high standard. Yeah I'm glad they were made and we did get a great sendoff with Rodney and cassandra baby being born.
Yes, same with "Not Going Out" since they married and the kids came along. "My Family" got unbelievably stupid when one on the character's dismembered head appeared in a glass bubble. Why actors of the calibre of Zoe Wannamaker and Robert Lindsay stuck with that programme beats me.
