Any plans to include a gaussian splatting option in the near future?
Gaussian doesn't make geometry .
@1989johno Yep. Not quite yet. Having specular option are a good thing, even before that point.
As far as I know, you can import Gaussian splatting in UE5, not as geometry but you can fly around etc.

This is good news for the new unwrap method. Because one of the weak points of RealityCapture is the generation of UVs which creates a patch of small islands. This requires reworking the UVs outside of RealityCapture. This optimization is welcome !

@@CapturingReality I understand the functional explanation, but I don't understand how it affects the results. Do you have any example data comparing the existing and new methods?
@@Nuri_Archive Basically, the result is a sharper and more color-accurate texture. As the image directly reprojected on the model (its part correlated to the model). Interface is absolutely appalling rubbish. Insane "workflow". Stuff shoved all over the place. Someone actually stood back and said to themselves..yeh, I nailed it. Should be fired.
