Southampton Airport is a single runway airport (02/20) on the south coast of England. It serves mostly national destinations, but also select international destinations. Many private airliners and aircraft also use Southampton Airport as a stopover, and sometimes overnight - none are seen in this video however, maybe because it was a Sunday. The airport is also a popular mainland destination for flights from the channel islands, seeing many flights from Jersey, Guernsey and sometimes Alderney.
It was a mostly sunny bright day and wind started calm but got progressively stronger as the day went on. It continuously blew in a northerly direction so all take-offs and landings are south facing (runway 20 end), this means that the planes have to taxi down the runway to reach the take-off threshold. Also a railway line runs right behind the airport so trains can sometimes be heard in the background.
