jump force's prequel called "j stars victory vs" is actually incredible! it has a great roster with a lot of variety, clunky but FUN gameplay and a banger opening intro. it is overall a really good and fun game that i highly recommend!
Victory VS arguably has the better rooster since it features a lot of unique characters instead of using the same templates on multiple chars Also i'm biased with my love for Tsuna ❤
Victory VS, although worse than Jump Ultimate Stars it's prequel, is WAY way better than Jump Force. That game has actual character specific combos and team combos, and shit. Pretty technical. Plus, actual custom BGM you can just....put your playlist.

"How did this game fail" It's ass the balancing was nonexistent it took over a year for them to add a rematch button (yes it did not have a rematch button at launch) the story is ridiculously bad and by bad I mean boring The loading times for everything we're plain horrible So yeah pretty much everything outside of the characters were trash in every perspective
The story was kinda interesting, I did like the Light plot that was going on in the game, I really like how Aizen was able to see Ryuk. I was hoping they added Light as a character somehow but sadly it never happened. I liked the Final boss who had kinda extreme version of Alchemy (the looks of his moves) and i did like Kane, an original character created by Akira Toriyama. The Lore was and still is very intriguing to me.
For me the weirdest part is the art direction of trying a more "realistic" approach to the rendering but insist on having the artstyle of each franchise intact. It's uncanny. I wish they stick to anime aesthetic so it can mask the bad model/animation. Not to mention, the motion capture is so bad because they don't adjust the proportion of the rig, so like Goku or Blackbeard looks broken when moving.
They lost licenses for some characters and had to shut the game down. Even with all that the game went through it was still one of the best selling anime games right up there with storm 4 and fighterz.
I honestly still don't get why they included Hancock of all people and not Nico Robin, who could have been way more fun to play with her body parts growing everywhere

I have like 600 hours in Jump Force. Mind you its not a polished game at all, but the roster is just so fun to play around with. I love just playing against the ai in fun matchups with my fav characters. Considering how bad the game is, it's definitely a guilty pleasure of mine

The game looked and felt good when playing, they truly cared about the online experience as they tried to listen and patched as much as they could. However! The game had issues, armored attacks, broken characters, special abilities being plus on block, the vanishing guard break, insanely quick assist refill time, terrible story mode, janky animations, and so on, the online was as frustrating as Storm 4 and connections. The game did not fail, it sold a lot of copies and DLCs did well.... the reason it got removed is due to licensing issues, just like J-Stars Victory VS+ and other anime crossover games. This game could have been the best, but I guess the issue is that people wanted it to be competitive (understandable) but the devs themselves said the game is just supposed to "look cool" it was just a visual casual spectacle. I personally enjoyed the fighting despite its hiccups, but everything else about the game was terrible.
Bro should play JUMP FORCE with mods. That would be one hell of a video. Edit: Online is one heck of an experience. Definitely not for the faint of heart, coming from a player with over 6,000 hours as of writing this, you'll want some practice with your mains before getting your hands dirty. xD

One of my favorite features in this game was the ability to transform Goku (and Vegeta I think) into either Super Saiyan or SS Blue depending on how full your awakening meter was, and I’m not even a big DBZ fan like that.
The game could have been so much more but felt underdeveloped. Feel like the game had a bias toward dragon ball(love dragon ball btw) by adding so many of their characters. Also, story mode is trash and the dialogues between the characters felt lazy. We could have gotten much cooler dialogues toward characters we would want to meet

Why the game failed was spam, abilities having super armor and infinite block. You'd have to center your playstyle around countering abilities because spamming had no downside to it and 90% of people would do it; abilities couldn't be interrupted so they had to be blocked. Also, block made no sense as it only broke with a charged attack so you could essentially block infinitely and run away if you wanted to. Supports made it extremely difficult frustrating and approaching these kinds of players.
Personally I never finished this game since I eventually got caught on by other games by I did enjoy it. It could have definitely used a lot more work though.
WoW i can't believe that Dai from Dragon Quest The Adventurers Of Dai is in this game (if you don't know who he is, Dai is the character that they put next to Midoriya and Asta) if only jump force didn't fail they might have added more characters from the Adventures Of Dai like Demon Lord Vearn, Flazzard, or Hyunckel, Flazzard could have finally get to face off against Shoto Todoroki🔥❄️

Personally I never finished this game since I eventually got caught on by other games by I did enjoy it. It could have definitely used a lot more work though.
WoW i can't believe that Dai from Dragon Quest The Adventurers Of Dai is in this game (if you don't know who he is, Dai is the character that they put next to Midoriya and Asta) if only jump force didn't fail they might have added more characters from the Adventures Of Dai like Demon Lord Vearn, Flazzard, or Hyunckel, Flazzard could have finally get to face off against Shoto Todoroki🔥❄️
Games not nearly as bad as people pretend. Its just a button mashy areana fighter, not really mean for any kind of competitive play. I still prefer J-Stars over it tho
